Launchpad is an absolute disgrace and NOT fit to have the contract with Reading Council- who are heavily subsidize this 'charity'.
The vast majority of properties are in a decrepit, poor condition. Constant vermin / pest control issues that are not resolved AND the more central locations of Launchpad Housing are being used as regular drug dealing sites, by resident and non- residents.
The staff team evidently lack the skills and actual experience in supporting the majority of disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals-that form the percentage of service users.

Main issues are
Absolute failure to deliver the care & support that they claim to do.

A blatant disregard to client needs and daily, living support / support plans.

A gross breach of the Data Protection Act 1998. Sensitive, highly confidential client files, being left in public exposed areas.

Management failing to efficiently act on / resolve serious concerns, complaints and issues raised- regarding constant staff misconduct, gross breaches of trust / security / privacy and inappropriate behaviour / ethics.

Launchpad accommodate addiction / illicit substances and prolong misery; in MISERABLE, housing conditions.
Overall, this organisation is having a destructive effect in the community, at large.
Whole families have had to sell up and move away from these properties.
Not FIT for purpose, or support-by any means. Founded by two deceitful men and filled with poisonous do-gooders .

Have been seeing an advisor at launchpad for a few months now and find her and all the staff to be helpful, friendly, incouraging, supportive, understanding, excepting of me and my needs.
My advisor is helping me with a couple of issues and find her to be a great support.

Fantastic organisation. Highly recommended!

About Launchpad Reading

Launchpad Reading: Providing Vital Support to Prevent Homelessness

Launchpad is a charity organization based in Reading, UK, that focuses on preventing homelessness by providing essential support and information to individuals, couples, and families who are at risk. The organization has been operating for over 40 years and has helped thousands of people in the local community.

The mission of Launchpad is to prevent homelessness by providing a range of services that help people maintain their homes or find new ones. The charity offers practical advice and support on issues such as housing, benefits, debt management, mental health, and employment. They also provide emergency accommodation for those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

One of the key strengths of Launchpad is its team of dedicated staff members and volunteers who work tirelessly to support vulnerable individuals in the community. The organization employs experienced professionals with expertise in areas such as housing law, welfare benefits advice, mental health support, and debt management.

Launchpad's services are available to anyone living in Reading or the surrounding areas who needs help with housing-related issues. This includes people who are struggling with rent arrears or mortgage payments; those facing eviction; individuals experiencing domestic abuse; families with children at risk; young people leaving care; refugees and asylum seekers; and anyone else who needs assistance.

The charity's approach is person-centered - they take time to understand each individual's situation before offering tailored advice and support. This means that clients receive personalized solutions that address their specific needs rather than generic advice that may not be relevant to their circumstances.

In addition to its core services aimed at preventing homelessness, Launchpad also runs several projects designed to improve the lives of vulnerable individuals in other ways. For example:

- The "Move On Up" project helps young people leaving care make a successful transition into independent living.
- The "Mental Health Matters" project provides counseling sessions for clients experiencing mental health problems.
- The "Employment Support" project offers job search assistance for clients looking for work.
- The "Community Engagement" project encourages social inclusion by organizing events where clients can meet others from similar backgrounds.

All these projects aim to empower vulnerable individuals by giving them the tools they need to live independently while improving their overall well-being.

Launchpad relies heavily on donations from supporters within the local community as well as grants from charitable trusts. Without this funding stream it would be impossible for them continue providing vital services which have helped so many over four decades now.
