High Desert State Prison Reviews

I was trying to get inmate ID number gave all info and they tell me the birth date is wrong, when I know the birth date of my family. Maybe they imputed the info wrong. So, they could give no info. They told me to go on the DONC Website and put his name and his info would come up, I did just that and no info came up. They are not friendly at all. They treat you as a prisoner.

I was imprisoned here for leaving a bottle on a cop's car. I was put into a cell and my cellmate offered me a strange medicine, i smoked it, and it was time for bed, i woke up ina dream and i was in a heaven and the guards were angels and the prisoners were giant crosses, i woke up in the shower and i was upside down. Tell John that he owes me 9000 pounds.

It the first time I went to visit my son. The facility was very clean. The while place was neat. Very strict rules and mist bring coins for the vending machines. Can't wait for hom to get out and enjoy a real meal.

Not really a place you want to visit, poor amenities, terrible food , avoid if possible!

I Have a brother in this prison and he just had surgery on his shoulder and the State of NV can put my brother in a medical facility at least for his shoulder can heel right. The State of NV don't care for my brother he did what did to go to prison that doesn't mean to medical mistreat him. That why I hate High Desert State Prison.

When calling the facility you don't have no one responding to your calls to set up a visit.

I called like 50 times to try to schedule a visit but no-one would ever answer, when i finally got to Schedule a visit I got there there was no-one in the front desk, when someone finally came out they told me that the visits had been cancelled.

I will try to find a camping spot elsewhere...... no hitchhikers, leave no trace

I'd give it a 4 star, great view, friendly staff. Just a wonderful place to spend a weekend or two.

I don't know why there's hours listed, it's never closed. The inmates don't get to go home after dark.

Im trying to put money on the books......bad info makin it hard.

Not that i want to go back but the staff was great.. Not so much the food or inmates who refuse to shower! But it was an experience that forever changed me. I made life long pen pals and and met someone who forever changed the way i see myself. JMV.
