Lapeer County Medical Care Facility Review

I am beyond disgusted that this man is employed to work here.

My aunt recently passed away after spending the past couple years at Lapeer County Medical Care. She received outstanding care, physically, emotionally and socially everyday of her stay. The staff is caring, kind and truly engaged in the care of the residents, and I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done. It is my wish that every extended care facility use Lapeer as their benchmark for care. Thank you! Susan Setter

My mother was there for 8 years. The family has been impressed and greatly relieved with the care she received over the entire span of that time. When she could speak, she said she loved it there and it was clear that she was getting lots of healthy, positive social interaction and attention. There is this zen garden and large pavilion for gatherings out back, a playground outside the hospital on the 1st floor, multiple cafeterias, meeting rooms-pretty much everything that any family could want while visiting. And the place is CLEAN! Walking the halls and looking at the events calendars, it is obvious that there is plenty to keep the folks being cared for occupied and having fun as they are able. There's even birds and cats for them to enjoy.

I stayed with her in her room on one of her final nights before she passed and could hear the hard working, patient and caring staff doing a fine job. During the final hours, it was clear that the nurses and aides had a personal connection with her, making it the most ideal situation for my mother and our family to know she was in the best possible hands. For a patient's final days, the patient can be moved into a "serenity room" which is a private, lavish & comfortable environment for the family to stay with that person in their final hours. The quality of life and piece of mind this facility has afforded our family is immeasurable.

This facility hires staff on the premise of doing favors rather than finding the most credible and competent staff.

Best skilled and compassionate people we have seen the last few years . Our mom has been in an out of nursing facilities for the last few years on an off. The compassion we seen in the nurses an aids was over the top. Exceptional . Our mom was moved to the serenity room during her final hours.Beautiful comfortable room. And her nurse was an angel.in disguise. I can't remember her new but will definitely find out. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking care of mom with compassion.

I wouldn t refer anyone to apply here. My interview was very un professional. When I got there the guy interviewing me thought it was necessary to say you wasn t on my calendar like it was my fault. Clearly, someone scheduled me I didn t schedule myself. That s something you should ve been prepared for. Also, he leaves me sitting in a chair, while thinking it s also necessary to mention who he wanted to come in and apply, to the receptionist, All while he has someone waiting to interview. During the interview he seemed so agitated and annoyed like he didn t want to be there which made me uncomfortable as if he had a problem. So as unusual I was kind of baffled and was tripping over some words I said during my interview. This was by far the most rudest interview ever. But has taught me something for future.

I don't understand how anyone could leave anything but a 5-star review for LCMC / Suncrest... The level of compassionate care they're providing for my grandmother is pretty amazing.

Aside from a single instance of rude behavior from a 3rd-shift nurse's aid, every other staff member has been incredibly professional, caring, passionate, and willing to go out of their way to meet EVERY possible request, whether it's coming from my grandmother or a family member.

The people working there all seem to be there because they want to be there, and from experience with different skilled-care facilities over the past few years, this is not always the case....

Definitely recommend going to visit for yourself before jumping to any conclusions based on a few ridiculous Google reviews.

The employees are great so far.
The clients rooms are well kept. (No bad odors smelled upon announced arrival.
That's the key thing for me personally.
Over the last six months I have experienced several locations that cannot come close.
This facility is the best one in Southern Michigan.
Keep up the good work... I'm impressed.

I am an ex employee and speaking from 14 yrs experience, this is the BEST long term health care facility I have ever worked at! I am a better person having been blessed to experience employment with Suncrest!
