Lake Michigan Credit Union Review

This is my favorite Grand Rapids branch, everyone is very friendly & professional here. I'd say the only con is the parking lot is too small.

Great place to bank with even better staff. They work with everyone's needs accordingly. No outlandish fees in any way, just simple honest business.

Very friendly staff and usually very quick. The ATM drive and parking in general is quite cramped however.

Do not do business with these pagan's. They do not care about you as a person, only your finance. I hope you don't get into any trouble because the people who work here are just as heartless as anyone who works for Chase, Bank Of America or any other national bank. The only difference is when these guys fail they won't be bailed out by the government and any money you keep with them will be gone forever.

The Manager of this branch is a nasty piece of work. Repeatedly lied to me about what they had on file when I tried to close my account as a way to try to stop me from doing so. The worst customer service I've had from any business in Grand Rapids.

DO NOT GIVE THESE SNAKES YOUR MONEY I AM BEGGING YOU.

Awful company and full of incompetent workers. Definitely switching banks.

Manager is super rude. Referred to my money as belonging to them.

Like any bank/credit union, overdraft fees are unnecessary and a real buzzkill. That being said, some of the tellers here are willing to try to help you, and others are just punching in and couldn't care less what happens to you to the point you close out your account and they don't even try to convince you otherwise.
I've been coming here for 6+ years and as a service industry employee, most of my transactions don't rely on a paycheck but in cash instead so I'm constantly in and out depositing money for bills and whatnot.
5 stars to Bryan for always offering assistance and trying to make bad situations less burdensome.
1 star to Allison who wouldn't even look me in the eyes as she shrugged off my situation.
LMCU as far as banking goes is a pretty great institution. I just wish some of the employees would try a little bit harder to have any form of sympathy if you practically just threw 100 dollars away in fees for 3 seperate hour long transactions at a parking meter.

Every time I come here to this branch, I get greeted as I walk In. All of the tellers are friendly and very helpful.

I go at various times. They're always understaffed. The staff is always friendly and very nice and I like LMCU, but this branch is always understaffed.

The ATM is inside, so you have to park to use it. This can be a busy corner, but it's very close to where I work. I love LMCU.

Went in today to open a savings account and had the best time talking to Kelsey. She was really kind and efficient! That was honestly the least nerve wracking time I ve ever had at a bank. Said she was moving to corporate soon, so congrats and good luck Kelsey!!

Terrible service close earlier than what they are supposed to and staff members laughed when I came to the location exactly 30 mins b4 closing time worst bank by far thinking of taking my business and money elsewhere

Love the architecture of this building, though the parking lot is extremely small. As a credit union, I couldn't be happier. LMCU has been great for everything I need a bank to do without all the fees. I even opened my first even credit card with them, something I thought I'd never do.

Great bank, I have also never had an issue at this location.

Staff is top notch. Account offerings beyond expectations. Parking is only down side. But, location is super convenient. Please don't move.

LMCU reports inaccurate credit information and refuses to correct it. If you value your credit score do not do business with Lake Michigan Credit Union. They locked me out of my account for months and denied access to my account statements. I regularly attempted to make make payments but was not allowed. Months later without any notice I discovered they had reopened my account. Of course I brought it current once granted access. Unethical organization.

Love the account perks and the policies. Unfortunately its turned into a 30 minute debacle everytime I go in to this location. I've spent entire lunch breaks just waiting in line and had to leave without being helped before. This has to be one of the busiest locations in the state, being right next to Spectrum, maybe more support staff is necessary... There does seem to be plenty of people standing around on a lot of occasions. I saw at least 9 employees today. Two of which were working with guests at the counter, with 8 people waiting in line. Very frustrating. I expect service like that from McDonalds across the street, not LMCU.

Great staff and quick service. 4* because of their crappy parking lot design.
