Good food and OK service. The place is a but run down but OK for a visitor. Not very kids friendly
Good food and OK service. The place is a but run down but OK for a visitor. Not very kids friendly
The Steamboat Company has several trips available, one is sure to fit your schedule, The people are nice, and the boats are clean and well maintained. Steamboats are slow compared to modern craft, so do not expect too much from the hour cruise, the 2 hour cruise is best at a minimum.
Went on the 2 hour cruise we didn't get the lunch with it. They had some interesting facts to tell you but you mainly go for the views. It was a hot day but on the boat with the breeze made It enjoyable.
Stopped by for some afternoon fishing. Caught a few small mouth , nothing to brag about, mostly 8 to 10 inches
Amazing ride, very scenery, food was ok, friendly staff but waiter disappeared in the back for the most part.
Loved our 2.75 hour boat tour on the Mohican through the narrows. Nice snack bar and grill where I actually got a half way decent cheeseburger fries and a Coke for less than $10, pretty good deal.
Dinner cruise was really fun. Great food and atmosphere. How can you not enjoy cruising Lake George on a beautiful summer evening.
My wife Laura and myself got married on the Mohican 15 years ago June 22 2002 the day they had the first 9-11 Fire Department conversation Parade .
First timers to Lake George and we went on the Saint Sacrement dinner cruise. We had four adults and three toddlers. It was an amazing experience! For being an event like dinner the food was excellent and there were a ton of drink options. The cruise itself was awesome with great views and live music. After the cruise my husband joked a what a great wedding reception that was because that was the vibe it had. The kids had a blast and between our two families we both agreed that cruise was our favorite part of our whole vacation. I would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Lake George.
We had lunch cruise. Coffee, soup and desert were amazing. Other Buffett items were okay. It could be better. Our wait staff was very attentive. Had fun. Definitely recommend.
Very interesting for kids. We went in Minh-ha-ha pirates trip. The pirates in costumes all went for a beer and sat in one place socializing amongst themselves. Few routines and cannon fires to keep the kids excited did not excite them that much. But the steamboat is solidly built and looks awesome if you are a person who appreciates an engineering piece
wedding was sept.2014. the so-called wedding coordinator (Lois) is more than rude, unprofessional and flat out mean! the first time on the phone to book ship I was told that if we didn't buy the package, as the bride i "would not be special!" also, i asked to book it over phone with debit card as we wanted the date and was told rudely that we could NOT do that as we had to sign contract and that she wanted to go home early and if we wanted to book it we would have to call the next day by noon! okay...I did so, THREE times and left two messages, except NO return phone call and we couldn't book our wedding. Two days later(there was no one there over weekend) I finally get someone on the phone, and find out that another couple had taken our date, yet,,,they were unsure if they wanted that day or were going to wait a month. how can that be as i was told once you sign a contract it is NON-NEGOTIABLE. needless to say, we were very upset and confused. called the owner and was told, "first come first serve!" wow. we drove up there and someone named victor, who was awesome, helped us and at the last minute the other couple cancelled and we got our date. If not for that I don't believe we would have got much help! Two out of three emails or calls were unanswered and believe me, we were NOT pests! the "band" was one person and a guitar, and they could hardly care as they had booked the entire ship later that day for another wedding so think we were just "un-important." far as the waitstaff, they were GREAT and the weather was perfect. the Captain was nice, food was very good. the rate for the wedding was more than fair, but unfortunately, the overall experience was poor as we felt we were not treated with the respect, professionalism and overall type of service one would expect on a special day. whether it is 8 or 800 that you are serving, the customer service should NOT differ- money isn't everything! we own a business and if we treated people like that, we wouldn't be in business! It is my opinion that the woman who does the coordinating has been doing it way too long and they need someone a bit more enthusiastic and less callous. btw, I used my parents (deceased) wedding topper which meant the world to me and they BROKE a piece of it off and when i said something to them NICELY, i was asked why it meant so much and when i explained i was told, "well, its really old, it adds character!" really.......??? not even an apology! eek....luckily i glued it!!!
I made a reservation for two on the 20 September 2013 Dinner Cruise on the LDSS. Unfortunately, I had one of those Murphy's Law afternoons that caused my girlfriend and I to run late. I had her call the ticket counter (phone was busy so message was left) as I hussled to attempt to make the cruise. As my luck would have it, we were about ten minutes late and no one was anywhere to be found. As if missing the cruise wasn't disappointing enough, the next day when I called to see if I could credit my payment toward the next evening's cruise I was told "absolutely not" by the supervisor. Now, this cruise was an "out-of-season" cruise being September and I am a local resident not an "out-of-towner." I can understand the "no refund" policy, but no "transfer" is idiotic. I believe if you pay for a service you should receive it. LDSS/Steamboat Company had no issues taking my money with no apology. I have been on this cruise before, but I would not recommend it nor book another cruise based on the aforementioned experience. It's just a bad policy...so thumbs down for me.
The experience itself is amazing. The staff, steamboat, views, service are all great. The only downside for us was there werent any kid friendly food options. I had actually called before we boarded to make sure they would have options for my 2 boys and what I was told was definitely not at their buffet. My children were very hungry and the selection was sparse. Thankfully the manager was able to get some child friendly options made up in the kitchen for them . All in all the experience is great, my only suggestion is to add a few child friendly options to the menu. We will definitely come back and try the pirate experience next time!
If you are going on vacation to Lake George, you should take this ride. Even though it takes one hour or longer, it is worth it. They give you a tour of the place and it was the most memorable thing that I done there.
Had an awesome time on the boat for my nephews wedding. Great time
Wonderful dinner cruise and then the fireworks! Awesome show and excellent experience!
The 1 hour-long trip around the Lake is worth the wait. Nice historical tidbits as well. Definitely recommed.
The Tuesday taco cruise is truly amazing. The music is good for supper and the dessert is delicious. The children greatly appreciated the experience. I recommend it.
Great service, relaxing, enjoyable and good food :)
Went on a sunset cruise here on a Friday night. Ticket was 49 bucks. A little expensive considering the food was not really all that. Their "famous" ribs were dry and tasteless and the other 3 things up there were nothing memorable. The 2 hour cruise is nice as it takes you on a tour through Lake George's history and you can freely roam about the boat on the decks. The boat is a tad dated I'd say and everything(bathroom, tapestries, rug etc) looks like it's from 2 decades ago. Bar is overpriced but #1 it's lake george and #2 you're on a boat
Cruise was relaxing and informative. Will certainly try the other lake cruises offered.
A 1 hour long tour on Lake George is offered here. During the tour you will be entertained with all kinds of interesting facts about the lake and the surrounding area. There were enough places for all participants. You would have a very good view from all chairs. The staff was friendly.
A nice tour on the lake. Not much to see, but it's what you would expect in a one hour boat ride.
Friendly staff and a great view of the lake make this an excellent choice.
Very nice service. Also scenery was very nice. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. Would defiantly come back again!
Always a nice time on this boat. Well run, and nicely narrated along the way by the crew.
For that it is, it's enjoyable. Huge crowds, long lines at the bar. Make sure you sit on the port side, otherwise you'll see everything from a distance. If you're sitting port side, you'll see everything up close.
One hour is more then enough... Also pay the deposit on cash as opposed to credit card you get it right away
Our first experience at Lake George was a Steamboat ride. It was very informative and the scenery beautiful.
Looking forward to another trip.
The steamboat ride was very fun, getting to learn some of the history of Lake George, the scenery was excellent.
It was a nice tour on the Mohican boat and very fairly priced. We took a noon 2 hour tour and it was $24 per adult. The later tour that was 2.5 hours was $28. Both extremely fair in my opinion. The ride was smooth and included some anecdotes over the loudspeaker about the islands, homes, and businesses on the lake. The have a concession shop on the first floor of the boat offering hot food and snacks as well as a bar towards the back. They are currently practicing social distancing as best as possible on the vessel.
We go on the Minne-Ha-Ha every year and get an awesome family photo
This was a really nice adventure. A beautiful sunny day, cruising up and down Lake George. The Captian describes historical landmarks and homes. The dinner wasn't bad either. All of the staff were smiling and pleasant too. It's definitely worth th price.
Great way to see and learn about Lake George. Captain is very knowledgeable. Listen learn & enjoy the scenery!!!
A spotless boat with several decks, good views all around. Onboard bar, snacks and gift shop. Accommodations gladly made for people with disabilities. A rollicking good time on a paddle wheel boat.
I encourage anyone who likes dinner cruises to make this one a priority. Not only is the steamboat beautiful inside and out but the food is excellent. I went for my birthday which turned out there were 5 other groups that had birthdays too. So it made the atmosphere very friendly and upbeat. Live entertainment was good.
The staff serving dinner could have been a little friendlier and more informative of the line up process. (Buffet style was closed do to Covid 19 precautions. Which were well enforced.) It wasn't enough to spoil the overall experience.
Our waiter was absolutely fabulous. Very attentive, very well spoken.
The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and served hot. The Pina colada and Mai Tai were superb. At the end of dinner they even brought me out a awesome surprise birthday cake for the table. Not just a slice but a whole cake to share, which I thought was a perfect. Thanks!
Great venue for seeing lake George by boat. A must do when at lake George
Beautiful day! Trip was relaxing, boat is showing it's wear & tear, but it's clean. Not much interaction with the staff, except in the store & they were quietly talking to eachother & only said thank you after the sale. Commentator was very knowledgeable & I enjoyed his descriptions. A bit pricey but appreciated the senior & children discount because we had a large group with many different ages. The children loved the trip!
Beautiful day, nice tour of Lake George. Staff were helpful and friendly.
So much fun and you cant beat the price just remember to wear a hat cause u dont want to get wind burn or sun burn on ur face it sux
Wonderful family day on the Lake. Every person we encountered was friendly!
Wonderful lunch buffet at the steamboat Pier, first-time visitors to Lake George. Really clean well organized and helpful Personnel on the steamboat.
Loved the Fri Night Pirate Cruise. I was disappointed that despite the signs requiring them, once on the boat, staff were not enforcing folks wearing masks.
Every time we come to Lake George Area, we make sure we get in the Lac Du Saint Sacrament boat, they have 4 floors and if you can t get into the lunch or dinner you still have access to a bar and small menu snack bar, the view are awesome. The staff very friendly, and food is very good. I hear people complaining about the food, but hey if you like filet mignon go rent a private yacht!
We highly recommend this company and their cruises!
Went on saint sacrament luncheon cruise...fish caught in Lake George delicious!! Two thumbs up
Went on the noon 2 hour cruise on a Saturday, my 3rd time cruisin' with guests from out of town. The "Saint" is a well-maintained, clean and inviting ship. A friendly staff and engaging narrator of the history of Lake Georg, even though the Lake speaks for itself. Simple but well prepared food in a relaxed atmosphere. We opted for no lunch option, but the bar stand offers enough to fill you up and keep you happy in board. The cruise draws a diverse crowd mixing tourists and locals. The crowd is always friendly and happy to lend a hand with your group photo. There is no lack of beautiful backdrop for fantastic shots. We we're lucky to enjoy beautiful sunny weather, blue skies and waters. There is plenty of seating options, and folks usually migrate onto and off the decks depending on wind, as the ship keeps maneuvering around the islands and the curvy shoreline. Bring your hooded sweatshirt or coat for the wind, bring your friendly attitude and fully charged camera, and bring your appetite for the snacks! Kick back, relax, and enjoy the show! Worth the price, and your guests will love the experience and develop greater appreciation of this region's unique beauty.
Very nice view of the lake but little boring after some time.
We enjoyed a two hour cruise with the Lake George Steamboat Company. Masks were required on board. Beautiful views from the decks.
Staff was attentive food good but not hot. Music and dance great. Tour of the lake was through and answered a lot of question. Great day trip
I did both trips last Sunday. They both go through almost the same place except the Narrows one goes up a little bit further. That is the one I would recommend doing because you get to go past all the hotels and actually look at nature. The staff was fabulous
they arranged the tables so that there is social distancing, however, if someone sits in the table that is closed off, the crew won't do anything about it unless you complain like 10 times. then they will ask the captain to ask the patrons who are sitting there to move, but took like 30 minutes for them to resolve this. other than this, it was good, food is pretty economical and the narration was good.
A nice relaxing evening with entertainment elvis show was great
Not as good as she used to be they took her smokestack off which gave her the queen look now she looks like an old river boat what a shame prices went up and the cruise got shorter
It was awesome nice day the down side is there is alot of people so if u re trying to enjoy the scenery bring ear plugs ... very friendly crew and nice pictures they takr befpre u board definitly worth the money
Son loved the ride around lake and all the staff was great
Got married here. Was a wonderful experience! Thanks all!
Great staff - very knowledgeable about the lake and surrounding areas! Locally owned and operated to boot. Always a worth a visit when in Lake George!
Pretty cool boat ride although I would have preferred the shorter ride. 2.5 hours gets boring.
My kids really enjoyed the Minni-Ha-Ha. Still talk about it. We managed to get some discount tickets, which made it better. It was a short ride, but just enough time for little ones to see the sights and enjoy a steamboat tour.
For quite a few years now my family and I have been going on the dinner cruise (on the Lac Du Saint Sacrement) whenever we visit Lake George and we've enjoyed it each time. We never had a problem with the service and the food is quite good. As for the entertainment, it's pretty much what you'd expect at a wedding reception/Sweet 16, but we usually opt to sit outside and enjoy the view while that's going on. We've always been happy on these cruises, would love to go back again.
Embarking on a summer dinner cruise has become an annual tradition for my family. The food is usually very good--nothing incredible--but good. The view of the lake and surrounding properties is incredible. Music is engaging and positively adds to the experience. And the sound and motion of the water is cathartic. In my experience, the service is usually great. However, on my most recent cruise there was a wedding party aboard and this seemed to have very negatively impacted our service. We saw our waitress only a few times, and we waited a painfully long time for anything we needed. This greatly took away from our experience as it wasted time that we could have spent enjoying the ride and scenery. Hopefully our experience next year is better, as we dearly love our yearly dinner cruise.
I went on an hour sightseeing trip aboard the Minne-Ha-Ha. The boat ride was great and the views were fantastic. Unfortunately, one of the captains acted very unprofessional towards a couple of passengers and made the trip very unpleasant. He acted very aggressively towards us and wouldn't tell us his name. Overall, I still would recommend the boat ride for the views but I would be hesitant to go again if the same captain was on our ride.
UPDATE: Patricia called us today and made everything right by getting us ticketed for the 4th of July fireworks. We still can t figure out what happened that our reservations were cancelled on us, but we are very happy that this situation was made right
this company is a joke! We loved our experience last year and set up another 4th of July trip on the Mohican in February. Showed up today to be told we cancelled our reservation. My husband waited for a callback from Doreen, the person who supposedly took the call, and she refused to believe that we hadn't cancelled. My husband has had his vacation picked since January. We never would have travelled up to Lake George for the 4th of July if we had cancelled our trip on the boat. Poor customer service and poor attitude
The Lac du Saint Sacrement sunset dinner cruise was a disappointment. The food was a below average buffet that came with one option of a below average dessert. The only thing nice about the experience was going on the deck and admiring the view.
I would not recommend it, not worth the money at all.
Boats are amazing. Lake is huge, surrounding area and houses are gorgeous.
Food on boats is well priced.
We went for 1 hour ride. Time just flew by.
We did the 2 hour dinner cruise but we did not do the inside dinner. We were on the top deck (mostly outside). It was a very nice cruise with music and narration. The snack bar is pretty good. I got a Cheeseburger with fries and my wife had a caesar salad with a hot dog. Good beer, wine, and drink selection as well.
The cruise got a little long (over 2 hours) so I would probably do the 1-hour cruise if we did it again or do the cruise dinner option to fill in some of the time. But all in all very well done.
Wheelchair accessible for lunch buffet and upper deck viewing. Great for all ages. Good was delicious and the views were great. Be sure to trade in Viatour tickets for paper ones at the window before boarding.
We had a lovely and wonderfully pleasant cruise on Lake George. The squall that caught to us before we reached the dock did not detract from the experience. The captain and crew were skilled and professional. (Note to the reader: I am a licensed captain myself. )
