The amount of issues I have had with this apartment complex is unforgivable. There are two employees that seem to genuinely enjoy their job (Courtney and Elizabeth), and are capable of answering any questions or resolving any issues you may have. The others simply don t care. My move in date was June 1st of 2018 because I signed when they had a free summer move in promotion, and when I arrived, I was informed that my unit was not available (thanks to Tyler), so I was moved to a unit that I did not sign for - not a big deal. The unit, however, required a new couch and carpet and the cabinet was falling off the wall. Managements response? That it would not be fixed because my roommate signed an as is agreement (I did not and this was a random roommate assignment). I had to get my mom to travel to Oxford in order to get the issues fixed. I placed a total of five maintenance request throughout my lease and multiple of them were deleted rather than handled. The property is always dirty, and I, myself, had to clean broken glass bottles from the stairwell because maintenance refused. Finally, I was charged for damages and trash, and I had to get corporate involved because the management staff refused to discuss the charges with me. They provided me images that were of the other room, which could be proven based on the layout of the floor plan, and management attempted to argue with me, stating that was not the case and that my evidence was not sufficient enough, so I offered to provide images of my room and the new manager stated that it wasn t necessary, and that I was still responsible for additional charges that they decided to add that was not initially on my final account statement. In the end, the initial charges were dropped because management did not have proof that the kitchen was dirty, as well as my evidence of the apartment layout. This apartment complex is the worst in Oxford.

Important Notice: I gave the staff permission to allow my friend into my unit since I was several hours away from Oxford and the office was an hour from closing, and one of the staff members (Lafayette Place can contact me for the staff member s name) gave my friend the master key to the entire apartment complex because the staff member was too lazy to unlock the unit for him.

Don t do it! The first day I was unable to move in on my time that my lease stated and was told to just come back because my unit was being cleaned! Super funny because they must of cleaned with dirt because it was disgusting!!! Hair was everywhere and the kitchen floor was sticky for whatever reason. I had to sit in my car from 11 am until 4 pm because I definitely don t live nearby. Can recommend anywhere except here! Things in my apartment that I asked to be fixed LAST YEAR still haven t been fixed... they say free printing but the printer never actually works! There is always trash everywhere! Never anywhere to park unless you buy a garage spot. The unit I was originally showed looked nothing like my actual apartment. The maintenance man is the laziest person I ve ever met. His excuse for not fixing anything is that it s only him working yeah well it s just me paying this high a** rent just to live in a place that nothing works and the apartment itself is way too small. Oh want to complain to the head manager about the maintenance guy? Don t even bother she will do nothing. I feel that she is actually less productive than the maintenance man. She is rarely at work and when she is there it s hard to even catch her because she leaves after an hour. Your air won t work in your bedroom. If you have a 2 or 4 bedroom the air definitely won t work. The power constantly goes out without reason but yet the bill seems a lot higher during those outage months. I hate this place and can t wait to move. I should have never moved here !

Greedy and rude. You're a dollar sign walking through the door, and once you sign, you're an annoyance to staff from that point forward. A good friend of mine worked here and told me how bad it was. I thought she was just exaggerating because her boss (the property manager) overworked her and treated staff like they were slaves.

So glad I didn't sign after I toured. The phone calls for an inquiry border harassment and my friends that live here hate it. All student housing is a scam but this places takes it to a whole new level. I've seen roaches when I visit my friends! That is just not okay. They told me there are numerous power outages, maintenance is slow, and staff do not care at all about privacy or that the apartment is your home.

My friends won't leave a review because they're scared management would retaliate in some way. That should tell you something about the staff and management company. I don't live here so I don't mind leaving the review. If you can, just avoid apartments or rental companies. Find an individual and rent from them.

I have been live in Lafayette place for 3 years. This apartment is not safety place to live. There is no security camera around building and parking lot, so if somebody hit your car and run off is normally thing. It happened to me twice last year. Maintaineness guy are very ruled and disgusting. He use my cooking pot to hold dirty water from the broken kitchen. Also, the management will enter your unit anytime without notice! Last week they put floor replacement in my apartment, when I ask the manager when are they going to replace those floors just in case I want to be home to watch my stuffs. The manager said she don't know. And I told her that I am worried my valuable stuffs at my unit during people replacing floor. She means that I should bring all stuffs with me. The manager always say "I don't know". You are not doing your job if you don't know!

To be honest, i hate this management and apartment. They make me feel uncomfortable all times. It is time to move out now! If you want to live in an anxiety place, this is the right place!

We decide to shop Lafayette place despite the horrible management reviews. We had a appointment set online for today 01/28/2017 at 12pm for a property tour. We called about an hour before we arrived on our 4.5 hour trip and was told just come on any time. We arrived at the office. We were not greeted the young lady didn't look up from the lap top until my wife addressed her. We told her we had an appointment to view the property and room. We were informed that no room was available to show. We were never offered a tour of the property or an explanation. The lady never even responded further.
Rude and completely unprofessional. It made the decision to lease elsewhere easy.
It also explained the 2.5 ratings.

Horrible from the beginning. My daughter filled out the paperwork on a Friday around 1:00 pm. I signed the guarantor paperwork around 4:00 pm that same Friday. On Sunday around 1:00 my daughter hand delivered a letter to the leasing office explains that she would be moving home and not moving in. She asked if there was any paperwork to be signed and was told NO. I called on Monday and was told she should have completed a form in the office and that it was now too late to cancel lease. Fast forward to June 2017. She moved all of her possessions out in June 2017. Office staff refused her keys and would not do a walk through of apartment. Returned to Oxford in July 2017 and discovered someone had been in her partment, stolen a television, moved furniture, adjusted the air and left a condom on the bed. I reported this to management with no response. Now they are saying she owes to replace television and repaint ? Don't all apartment complexes repaint in between tenants??? They also do not return phone calls or emails. I do not recommend Lafayette Place.

Unless this is your last choice, don t live here. Maintenance requests take weeks to get done. The guest parking system is the worst I have ever heard of. To top it all off, my room mate and I were charged $260 for a scuff left on the wall that they labeled as wall damages. The RA s are great. I never had any problem with any front desk worker. The management is terrible. They are particularly rude and unhelpful.

This complex has many issues. I have a family member who lives there. Apartment has mold and mildew and spiders. This complex all they did in less then 24hrs just paint over the problem. Apartment should be checked for air quality which would take at least 72hrs for this
test. Need to check air quality out and inside if inside air quality is high then need to clean air ducts soft surfaces like couches chair beds ect need to be steamed cleaned. This has not taken place at this apartment. Mold can damage your lungs or you can die from this.

This really is a great place to live. Any time I've needed to talk to the staff about a problem they have gone above & beyond to be helpful. The manager even told me to come talk to her if I was ever feeling homesick, & I really believe she meant it. To me, that goes beyond the duties of an apartment manager. There's a lot to be said about a place when you feel like the people working there genuinely care about the people they're renting to. Plus that pool is awesome! Free printing so long as you provide your own paper?! Yes, please!

If I could rate this place a 0 I would. Do not move into these apartments if you are looking in Oxford -- the staff may be helpful and nice but at the end of the day they do not care. It has been almost a month since school has started and I still wake up at 6 in the morning from the sound of construction. Not to mention how disgusting they keep this place. There has been spilled tomato sauce on the stairs of building 1 for almost a year. I'm tired of seeing the dirtiness this place does not seem to care about- yet they want to fine you $25 per trash bag you leave outside of your apartment. People have jobs and school and can't take the trash out at 8 in the morning...maybe if they kept this place more clean I wouldn't rant about the trash. This place is disgusting. I see cockroaches at least 1 or 2 times a day in my apartment. I have put in four request for services(broken front door handle, bathroom door handle, closet door, and for a dresser that broke). I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. DO NOT LIVE HERE. This is my last year and I will never be back.

The move in process was a little shaky but it was well worth it! I absolutely love my 2 bedroom apartment with high ceilings that create an additional sense of openness as well as the balcony where I sit and enjoy tea while watching the sunset. The staff at Lafayette Place are super helpful and always available to assist with any issues. The resort-style pool is a perfect place to cool off during the summer heat. I love that this residence is conveniently located near restaurants and shopping centers. I am truly enjoying my experience here at Lafayette Place!

Well, if you want to live in an unsafe apartment complex run by a greedy management system, who refuses to work with their residents, this is the place for you! Within the first couple months of living here somebody broke into my car, and cut the catalytic converter out of my engine in the middle of the night. There no security cameras, just a security guard that sits in his car watching Netflix by the club house. You will experience random power outings monthly. I've lived in 3 different places in the 5 years I've been at ole miss and this is by far the worst experience I have had

The worst apartments I ve ever stayed in Oxford! They ve done absolutely no maintenance requests and don t care to. I moved to an upgraded unit and they haven t upgraded em since at least 2010 so they re false advertising! I signed a year lease to finish my senior year and it was the worst mistake I ever made. I ve gone the entire year without a fully functioning tub (no baths all year). The entire apartment was covered in mold they just paint over it. It smells terrible because of the mold to the point where I basically stayed with friends majority of my time here. Mold grows on the doors and baseboards. Stray cats cry by my window all night. They actually do fulfill my roommates requests just not mine for some reason. They lied and said I wouldn t need to buy a private park and then started new parking rules resulting in my guest getting towed. They made me pay the upgraded rent my entire year lease knowing that my tub had peeling paint and mold in it and basically couldn t be used. My roommate didn t even ask for an upgraded apartment and pays regular rent. One of the maintenance guys came on to my roommate while I was gone and she was alone it was very creepy yet they didn t fire him just told him to stay away. Please avoid staying here at all cost! This place ain t even worth free rent.

Constantly closed down the amenities, could not walk outside without smelling weed, allowed water to pour from my ceiling for week before fixing problem. Had problem with someone shooting gun in parking lot and nothing was done about it. Also charged me a $50 cleaning fee when I left when the place was spotless. The apartment was dirty when I moved in and the appliances were junk. Definitely would not recommend staying in these apartments.

The staff is really helpful, the buildings are really beautiful. Moving into the third floor is a bit tiring. The perks of living here at Lafayette Place Apartments is the icing on the cake.

Very rude staffs!!! Especially the manager. She may be smart that's why she became a manager. But she is definitely an ego_driven person and she has no clue about customer service at all. She needs to learn how to behave customers professionally and politely.

I am currently living in Lafayette Place, I looked at the reviews and one of the reviews stood out to me the most and the guy indicated that garbage is always in the breezeways and I talked with the manager personally about concerns that I had about different things and I brought up the review which talked about the garbage, she told me that the person who left the review never stayed in those apartments and they have no idea of who the person was but the information was not true (dumb me). I have been here since August and I have reported to the property office several times about garbage which stinks up the breezeway. I've learned to cover my nose until I get into my apartment which I have three different timed air freshners to ensure I don't have to smell the stench from the outside. However, the dirty scoundrels who stay close to me sometimes move their nasty trash bags by my apartment door. Once I took the bags to the trash receptacle after I wrote the property an email indicating my dissatisfaction with the event. Today I get home, bags that have been sitting in the same location for more than a month were moved by my door.

I called the office at 6:22PM and the young lady who answered the phone indicated that everyone was gone and that even though she understands the urgency that garbage bags don't count as an emergency, which I agree with, and there were no person to call to remedy this until Monday.

Here are pictures as of December 8, 2017. The empty spot is where the garbage was located for more than 2 months.

And I echo some of the sentiments of some of the other reviews about electricity and all. Although they indicated to me that there is no overage, the entire bill is the responsibility of the tenant. I looked at my lease, nothing is in the lease but I am sure they told me verbally that electricity was included because that was one of my requirements.

Check in was quick and easy. I had no problem with getting into my apartment. First time at Lafayette Place and I can already tell it is going to be a great year. I am happy to be apart of the Lafayette Place family."

This apartment complex is so disorganized and care...

This apartment complex is so disorganized and careless. The staff in the office signed for a package of mine ( A IPHONE X ) and even though I currently don t live in the complex, my friend does and it was addressed to her apartment but with my name on it and they supposedly sent it back but UPS has no track of the package being returned, solely delivered, AND SIGNED FOR! Leading up to this event I addressed a package of mine to my friends address under my name and they didn t deliver it to her address but they did hold it from the time They received it on Friday (Thank God because it was my new phone) until I picked it up that Monday. They have my full contact in their system as a previous tenant but I didn t receive any call nor did they try to contact my friend who is a current tenant on either occasions, and the same lady that I spoke to every single time I went into the office said the same thing, she did not know where my phone could be because they did not sign for it nor receive it, but if they just so happened to they would have sent it back though UPS says that someone at the office signed for it, and they gave me a name and address. You would think that a complex would keep some kind of track of packages they sign for, especially if it s something that is obviously of value. Now today, I go to the office to pay a fee for my friend who is out of town and when the SAME girl looks up my friends total she said that the fee was higher than the amount being paid so she couldn t take it. Okay. So now she asks can they split payments to a coworker and her coworker says no. Turns around and leaves. So I m like dang....this is kind of weird my friend sent me up here for this. Then I go home and call my friend and she sends me an email she received saying to bring her payment which was reduced from the original payment, today. Now.... YOU WOULD THINK if the bookkeeper emailed someone specifically for this SPECIFIC amount of payment they would possibly pay more attention to what is going on instead of brushing off what just looked like me paying the rent late, in a split payment. Now I have to drive all the way back to the complex upon which the employee apologized for not realizing that I was paying for a tenant who had previously confirmed this exact payment. Highly disappointed is this office. She didnt even have her shoes on.

This was the best place in the beginning but it has quickly gone down hill. Yes renovation have been done but that doesn't make up for the other things. It is no longer a safe or healthy environment for me to live at.I live on the end so I hear EVERYTHING which isn't the issue sometimes until there's some ignorant person that wants to shoot their gun or fight.Yes LP handled it the way that they should with updates on both incidents but it still shouldn't have happened especially with me being a female and living alone.Security used to walk up and down all the halls but I have not seen one in a minute. I have had so many issues with my apartment that have not been fixed or not correctly fixed it is ridiculous. I am to the point where If I cant fix it myself I don't bother to put in a maintenance request because of the poorly done jobs before. There has been what appears to be a mold issue (under my sink and above my shower) that was brought to EVERYONE's attention (even the maintenance man took pictures of it to show). When I went to the office I was told that it wasn't mold and to spray the area and it will go away. I have sprayed and sprayed and sprayed. There's an issue with my dryer that makes my wash room walls and doors wet which is now creating a mold issue there, told the guy a while back when I first saw the issue but guess what NOTHING. The balcony used to get power washed but that hasn't happened in FOREVER and it shows because there are spiders, nests, and other little creatures in the roof and the corners of the balcony. ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES!!! The roaches are also residence at Lafayette place.Yes there is someone that come to spray but the roaches are literally at your front door waiting for you to let them in. The trash is also piled up EVERY weekend outside of the ONE dumpster that they have and it looks a mess EVERY weekend. Don't go through the front at night there's this street light that constantly blinks that will drive you INSANE!!! One star given for the different activities that took place in the club house for the residence and friends. The other star for me not getting a roommate since last spring.

Do not never ever go to this place! All of the secretaries are rude and if you ask to talk to the manager, she will make you wait for a long time. They will come to your place whenever they like! One day I was taking a shower and they knocked the door, I could not open the door. When I came out of the bathroom I saw 2 people in the living room and I was shocked! Do not waste your money with these people!

They sent me email notifications when I had rent and utilities due. This didn t happen after I moved out. I got a utilities charge on my account. No forwarding of the bill was done to my new address. No email notification was sent to me. I found out I had an outstanding utilities bill only when the collection agency they use sent me a letter saying that I now owed them. When I called up, I was given the run around. The managers were never there.

Simply put. They screwed up and now I m having to pay for that screw up.

wow. Normally I don't leave reviews but this is unacceptable. If you want to live in an apartment with a serious cockroach infestation then stay at Lafayette place. Saw more cockroaches there in one day than I've ever seen living anywhere else in my entire life. I'm a neat freak so I know it definitely isn't me. I was under the impression that apartments were required to spray for bugs regularly but I guess not. Save your money and live literally anywhere else in oxford that actually sprays for bugs.

The worst apartment complex ever. They tow your visitors car with out telling you about guest passes. They try to charge you for damages that where already damaged prior to you moving in. If I was you I wouldn t waste my money and they have a different manager every year.

The staff is the worst I have ever met with. Do NOT live here. They will nickle and dime you for everything you had. Units are horrible. They do not care about the grounds. Good luck ever getting any maintenance request fixed. They simply close them out. Run, do not walk away from them. They will delete reviews as well and even post "sorry you dont live here", but many of us have proof. Not to mention I tried to pay with my Amerixan Express card once and, even though it is accepted on their website, they couldnt accept it.

I have been a resident of Lafayette Place for a year now. I am not originally from the state of Mississippi, but I have been here for a decade of years, and I must admit this have been the the best place that I have lived at here. I have saw many improvements since living here, and I believe in due time it will only get better!! I would recommend moving here...

I gave this place one star because I have nothing but bad experience with Lafayette. I was excited for this experience because it was my first apartment on my own, but I was let down badly. They treated my roommate wrong. Their visitors and towing restrictions are way to force. My visitors car got towed twice, and I did not receive my mailbox until January of next year and I moved in August. Lastly, they moved another completely different roommate in a pandemic. However they always made sure to ask me about renewing my lease. I only have some good experiences with Lafayette. The fact that some people are friendly and their pool is nice. I want people to do research before considering Lafayette place.

The upgraded apartments are really beautiful. I love the look of the granite. The apartments are furnished so I didn't have to buy anything and the furnishings are very nice and modern!
I've been here since June and the staff have been so kind and have helped me find solutions for everything I needed in a timely manner. I plan on staying here for the rest of my college career.

Do not waste your time, nerve and money (I will give them -20 out of 5)
The most horrible experience we have had so far. Make sure you are not trusting them on anything. They will try their best to convince you so you lease from them. There is no roommate matching even they talk about it. Make sure you read their contract before signing it because you will see there is no right for you as a resident. Management and office staff have no idea what they are talking about. Their management is horrible.
