Incredible, we went today and it was all closed until March due to work. I mentioned that on the internet the museum is open and they replied "sure, because the bar is open!" ...... I hope that nobody today comes from far to see a show in three years, would find only a hood! !!

Perfect location on the Triennale building with a wide panoramic view of Parco Sempione and beyond. Refined dishes and cured cocktails. For dinner I suggest booking. Sundays often excellent lunch with fixed price wine tasting.

A permanent exhibition space with a focus on contemporary art, with cyclical organization of exhibitions with the most disparate themes.
A must see is the Museum of Design.
The Triennale is also surrounded by a truly relaxing garden with an adjoining bar where you can sit and enjoy something.

Obviously the terrace is wonderful, I suppose it's spectacular to go and eat in the hottest period. The service is very good, the dishes are original and worth trying. I really liked the appetizer with the egg, a little less the meat because cooking was not as requested. Very good wines and also the aperitif bar.

The Triennale is the most gorgeous and spacious modern art exhibition. You can spend a day here with lunch in one of their three restaurants - the outdoor one called Il Giardino (the garden) is fantastic. Currently the centerpiece exhibition is "Storie" about Italian Design in the 20th century ... quite some classics can be seen including Fiat 500 and Panda - but also surprisingly the famous Knitted Chair by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders. Another classic is the outdoor pool artwork Bagni Misteriosi by Giorgio de Chirico, probably the most photographed of all. The immersive photo exhibition around infrastructural works is also outstanding.

We went to this terrace for an aperitif on a Sunday. There were not many people. The place is pleasant enough but I have to say we didn't like the service. To say the least absent ... During our stay and at the time of the bill no one asked us, if everything was okay while they forgot to bring us the finger food provided for an aperitif ...

Spectacular view !!!! Perhaps the best in Milan. Friendly and courteous staff, maybe a little professional considering the location. Food a bit like I would do like the great chefs ... but I don't really like it. Cute presentations but ultimately disappointing. Anyway worth a visit for the view.

A museum, an exhibition hall, an institution, a reference point for Italian design.
Every time I visit it, it's a good experience.
The curators do a wonderful job of choice and selection that make great expositions at the Triennale.

About La Triennale di Milano

La Triennale di Milano: A Hub of Italian Design, Architecture, and Contemporary Culture

Since 1923, La Triennale di Milano has been a leading institution in Italy dedicated to promoting design, architecture, and contemporary culture. Located in the heart of Milan, this cultural center has become a hub for artists, designers, architects and enthusiasts from all over the world.

The History of La Triennale di Milano

La Triennale di Milano was founded in 1923 as an international exhibition of decorative arts. The first edition was held at the Palazzo dell'Arte in Milan's Sempione Park. The event showcased works by Italian artists and designers alongside those from other countries.

Over time, La Triennale became more than just an exhibition space; it evolved into a cultural institution that promoted design and architecture through exhibitions, conferences and events. In 1936 it moved to its current location at Viale Alemagna where it continues to thrive today.

What Does La Triennale Offer?

These collections include furniture pieces by Gio Ponti - one of Italy's most influential architects - as well as works by other prominent designers such as Achille Castiglioni and Vico Magistretti.

In addition to its permanent collections, La Triennale hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year that explore various themes related to design and contemporary culture. Recent exhibitions have included "Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival" which explored how design can help address environmental issues facing our planet.

La Triennale also offers educational programs for students interested in pursuing careers in art or design fields. These programs include workshops led by industry professionals who provide hands-on experience with various techniques used in these fields.

Why Visit La Triennale?

Visiting La Triennale is a must-do for anyone interested in art or design history. Its permanent collections offer insight into Italy's rich artistic heritage while its temporary exhibitions provide fresh perspectives on contemporary issues facing our world today.
