Did a return by mail, took a while and a lot of back and forth..first I was told it was refunded through PayPal, then I was told a check was being mailed, days later a PARTIAL refund was sent to paypal. Absolutely no explanation why the entire payment wasn't refunded. Do your returns in person and NOT by mail!! NEVER AGAIN!
My boots ripped apart only after 3 months of wearing them. I called to let someone know I had to call three different times and the first time I got an attitude and was told that LL Bean boots don't fall apart like they did then I was told that they were stitched and come to find out it was glue holding them together I'm going to post a picture of them so everyone can see. the level of customer service I received was well below what is expected from a company as big as l.l.Bean after I just bought two pair of boots I will never buy boots in this company again.
First Purchase Was On-Line. Had a Simple Question about an Order; Yvonne was Very Helpful and Advised Me On Other Options Available. Was Looking For a Sweatshirt With a MAINE Moose on it; as Souvenirs are Hard to come by.
Was Happy to Have Promo Code to Help with Shipping, and Proceeds of The Shirt I Bought Went to a Worthwhile Cause. I Received My Order As Described & Rather Promptly! (Pleasantly Surprised) Look Forward to Browsing Other Products. Keep Up The Good Work.
Customer Service is NOT ANY GOOD. I tried to cancel an order. They said it was already shipped. My account says it had not been processed. I will never purchase anything from this company ever again. I will be charged to ship back at my expense. Canceled order one day after I placed an order. Customer service said they would stop the order and I would receive a conformation of cancelation. Didn't happen. Good Bye LL Bean.
When we were shopping in the retail store at Freeport. The sign said ADDITIONAL 50%off on CLEARANCE section, but when we were checking out the price was 50% off regular price. We called back to the store and they said the price is as is, don t want to take the time to solve the problem . The supervisor at customer service was very very rude, Is L.L. Bean almost out of business??? How come she talks with customers very rudely ?? It sounds like a yell on the phone She said that they do not remember anything about the promotion and said if you don t want just return it , and we have to pay for shipping ( we are not close by the store) We want to talk with someone else higher can solve the problem? She said no one else to talk to, just tell us return it and pay for shipping . She treats us like begger They are don t care and don t respect the customers at all, We spent a lot time to pick out the ones we wanted to buy. Now they just answer return it very irresponsible. Just want to let people be aware WHEN shopping at L.L Bean . Check receipt before leaving If not go home and call them. Get someone rude like the female that I talked with that just made us more stressed and upset
Absolutely horrible customer service. They pride themselves on customer satisfaction, but they show it in no way. Tried to exchange a pair of slippers due to the fact that one did not fit properly (it was slightly larger). I was told that it was over a year since purchase (even though a received them as a gift) and they would dispose of them. They made it out to seem like I was trying to get money back. All I wanted was a pair of slippers that fit properly. It's best to not purchase anything at all from them unless you want hassle.
I purchased a pair of sandals from Bean in May, 2017. The sole detached from the right sandal in July, 2019 because the shoe was defective. The store gave me an extremely hard time in returning the sandals. It said that the shoe was wet, which was complete fiction.
Visited Ross Park Mall location to purchase a kayak. Sales Rep Aaron. Single person kayak on display outside was $299. Took photo and showed it to Aaron. He removed price tag and would not honor price as marked and verified that it was the correct model with the $299 price. Also wanted package deal and roof rack. Left very dissatisfied. LL Bean should honor their posted prices.
Don t purchase if you believe they still have that exchange program for life where you get a LL bean product and then comeback after few years to buy another one may be same or greater value and get a full refund. They removed that policy due to some fraud by few folks apparently, who would buy stuff from goodwill and then take exchanges ? Which is super strange because you need to have a valid purchase in the system and they used to validate that by your driving license etc. I am very surprised when the LL bean store employee at Nashua NH told me I could not exchange my LL bean boots for a pair of greater value because LL bean cancelled that exchange policy. Anyways I thought I should let all the good folks know. I didn t like their shoes and wanted to exchange as the inner-sole just came out of the shoe. Wish they had better quality for regular low ankle shoes.
We were harassed during our shopping trip to return wrong sizes after we ordered merchandise online. No, it was not by other people but by a store associate and then the manager. During the holiday season of 2020 we understand the importance of maintaining a safe distance yet people have lost their humanity and must forget what shopping with children could be like. Lost a loyal customer. So sad.
They do not stand behind their return policy. ...I have a bunch of stuff that they said they can't return because I don't have a receipt. ...well when u have had the items for years and some items were gifts so why would I have them...
I purchased a pair of trekking poles from L. L. Bean for a friend who needed them for a trek in Patagonia. I paid for express delivery and was assured they would arrive in time. They did not arrive before my friend had to fly out. L. L. Bean customer service rep offered to express ship a pair to Chile at no cost, but could not guarantee they would arrive in time. I suggested and the service rep agreed to $100 gift card in lieu of the expense of international express shipping a pair of poles and as reasonable compensation for my friend having to rent poles in Chile. I repeated the agreement and the rep said she had written it up in the record. Subsequently, I received a $20 gift card. When I enquired, the rep claimed we had not agreed on a $100. She may have misunderstood, but I am a very careful consumer and know for certain this was what we agreed to, based on the rationale I explained above. Net is that L. L. Bean saved $80 and lost: a) a lifetime customer, and b) the great story I had been sharing with friends about how good their customer service was. Now I am sharing the exact opposite story -- very simple: You can't trust L. L. Bean to stand by their word.
Allow me to start by saying that I have been a customer of yours since 1975, disco days, you were the only non polyester game in the country at that time. Love that cotton and wool! So, big deal, right? The quality of your goods has been going downhill for years. Your prices have gone up. I was most disappointed when you announced your new return policy a short time back. I don t believe in my 43 years with you, that I recall using that. So, big deal, right? This last week would be the crowning blow, not selling your fine guns to anyone under 21 years old. I respect your right to make a statement, 1st Amendment. That doesn t mean that I agree with you. After a long and disappointing relationship with you, I am leaving, paying off and cancelling my LL Bean credit card, I will not be making any more purchases from you, not even a pair of socks or boxers. Sometimes one is better off keeping their opinions to themselves!
For anyone taking a pilgrimage up to maine, this is a place to stop by day or night, literally. You'll find no locks on the doors at the LL bean headquarters because its always open, all year long. And the staff is wonderful and attentive to all your outdoor needs. Even at 3am.
Be warned - LL Bean will offer a promo code, accept the code when you place the order, send you an order confirmation reflecting the lower price, and then later bill you the full price saying that the promo code was invalid for the item only when you inquire about the discrepancy. Most retailers tell you that up front and don't let you place the order, but not LL Bean. This literally just happened to me with the Thanksgiving promo of 10% off. I received an order confirmation email showing $40 off and then when I looked at my credit card, they had billed the full amount without telling me that the code had been retroactively rejected. Take your business to some other retailer that doesn't play sly tricks with promo codes.
It's difficult to beat the quality of the products offered by this Company. The length of time they've been in business is testimony to that. Their flannel shirts are second to none in fit, finish and durability. I like to buy these shirts as birthday or Christmas gifts as they never disappoint. It takes a long time to wear one threadbare.
Brand loyalty vs price is now gone LL Bean. One thing that always steered me towards serious LLBean purchases was the lifetime guarantee. I grew up in Maine, and when I left, continued purchases. And so did my family. But as we all know.....
I get it in this modern age of lack of morals and let's take advantage, but my tent, which has a material defect, purchased in the 1990's when the expectation was lifetime, and was a serious purchase at the time, is not being covered... so why rant, I'm grown up, gone are the days of replacing a shirt that failed etc, but this was a more serious purchase and item expected to last. ERGO: Considering the price vs, Costco or Amazon or other retailers to buy a tent from, there is no motivation to pay that 10-20-30% premium. Sorry Bean family you have lost my brand loyalty.
Probably the best retail store in the country. Open 24 hrs and they're happy to do it. Amazing selection of goods at the highest quality available. Their return policy and customer service are unmatched. What more does a shopper need?
I spent an hour on the phone with a ll bean rep who wasted that hour.. never placed half the order and in speaking to a manager brings me to the conclusion half the help at ll bean has to be brain dead..
