Good service! They solved all requests from three friends with three strollers and related children. Plus the food was very good and the atmosphere was lovely. We were there during the Christmas holidays.

A visit here is always an experience. The best places are on the 1st row and the parquet. Do not buy tickets in the 3rd row if you are afraid of fear, these places are really high with a very steep slope.

Nice building and beautiful interiors, to my taste. Have visited a number of times.
Latest: opera "Candide"
+ Different and interesting visual experience. Good philosophy in the end. Beautiful voices: Elin Rombo & Joel Annmo.
- The story thread was chaotic, a lot of weirdness with "intercourse" like scenes.
I understand that they are trying to attract a new audience but it is starting to resemble Cirque du Soleil (not the Royal Opera).

The Royal Opera at Gustav Adolfs square in Stockho...

The Royal Opera at Gustav Adolfs square in Stockholm is Sweden's national stage for opera and ballet. The opera house, which was inaugurated in 1898 and designed by architect Axel Anderberg, was a very modern opera house of its time with both electric light, which was a novelty, and a certain safety thought. But above all, it was a grand house richly decorated with both gold, stucco and paintings. Still, the opera house impresses with its splendor and beauty, and here you can experience opera and ballet of the highest class. The Royal Opera at Gustav Adolfs Square is the home stage for the opera soloists, the Opera Choir, the Royal Ballet and the Royal Hov Chapel.

Yes, that's the Royal Opera. What should you give otherwise for grades than full pot. Very rich but still intimate and not too big. Located centrally and close to bus and metro. Parking outside is very sparse but at the mall there is parking garage.

There are at least 3 good bars situated at the Opera house, with a great view of the canal and Palace. Lots of tourist buses but also well dressed locals. Good age group for us as well, with a lovely little park and the Grand Hotel closeby.

About Kungliga Operan, The Royal Swedish opera House

Kungliga Operan, The Royal Swedish Opera House, is a world-renowned institution that has been entertaining audiences for over 240 years. Located in Stockholm, Sweden, the opera house is not only home to the Royal Swedish Opera but also to the Royal Swedish Ballet, Young at the Opera program, and the Royal Swedish Orchestra. Together they create unforgettable experiences for adults, children and families alike.

The history of Kungliga Operan dates back to 1773 when King Gustav III founded it as a way to bring culture and entertainment to his people. Since then it has become one of Europe's most prestigious opera houses with a rich history of performances by some of the world's greatest artists.

Today Kungliga Operan continues its tradition of excellence by presenting an array of operas and ballets throughout its season. From classic works like Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" and Verdi's "La Traviata" to contemporary pieces like Philip Glass' "Satyagraha," there is something for everyone at this iconic venue.

In addition to its mainstage productions, Kungliga Operan offers educational programs through its Young at the Opera initiative. This program provides opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to experience opera firsthand through workshops and performances designed specifically for them.

Another unique aspect of Kungliga Operan is its commitment to sustainability. The opera house has implemented several initiatives aimed at reducing their environmental impact including using renewable energy sources such as wind power and geothermal heating/cooling systems.

But what truly sets Kungliga Operan apart from other opera houses around the world is its stunning architecture. Designed by architect Axel Anderberg in 1898-1905 in neo-classical style with Art Nouveau elements on top floor balconies; it features grand staircases leading up into ornate foyers adorned with crystal chandeliers that lead into opulent auditoriums filled with plush red velvet seats.

Overall, Kungliga Operan offers an unparalleled cultural experience that combines history, artistry and innovation all under one roof. Whether you are a seasoned opera-goer or someone looking for a new cultural adventure - this iconic institution should be on your must-visit list when traveling through Stockholm!
