The Royal Opera at Gustav Adolfs square in Stockho...

The Royal Opera at Gustav Adolfs square in Stockholm is Sweden's national stage for opera and ballet. The opera house, which was inaugurated in 1898 and designed by architect Axel Anderberg, was a very modern opera house of its time with both electric light, which was a novelty, and a certain safety thought. But above all, it was a grand house richly decorated with both gold, stucco and paintings. Still, the opera house impresses with its splendor and beauty, and here you can experience opera and ballet of the highest class. The Royal Opera at Gustav Adolfs Square is the home stage for the opera soloists, the Opera Choir, the Royal Ballet and the Royal Hov Chapel.
