Very beautiful building. Unfortunately, not fully functional for setting up modern opera sets. Stockholm should get a new opera house. The current Royal Opera must, of course, also be retained to enable more sets.

Modern building located in a new area of the city where all buildings are very modern in design. It is a multifunctional building inside decorated with bamboo which is a great insulator concerts are held. From its wide holl and outdoor terrace you can see the sculpture of the lake sculpture. Its sloping roofs are used in winter as ski slopes and in summer for sunbathing.

Has been accepted as a date just passed and it is a large amount, about 800kr. Calling the ticket box and all I can hear is that it is invalid now and that they can not do anything about it. Yes, yes, but there are some exceptions they may think they can do when the amount is so high and when there is money paid for the gift card to be bought. Easy to miss dates when you get emails in addition. The woman in the ticket box spoke like a robot. This is actually rude!

Good experience! Very nice building! If you buy tickets online they ask you to print your ticket but if you don't you can go directly to the opera with your reservation in hand and they will print the tickets before accessing. Have you got Wi-Fi!!

Only the wonderful interior makes the Royal Opera worth a visit. Furthermore, the fact that it offers first-class cultural experiences in the form of opera and dance makes this a favorite. Do not forget to book a break in advance for gold edge on your visit.

Wonderful atmosphere with a wonderfully beautiful setting. Of course, how good you think it is depends on what is shown. However, the chairs could be much more comfortable. Would rather get married than sitting five hours and see a Wagner opera in these armchairs ...

Beautiful building.I really cannot understand why, an opera that respects itself, sells tickets of seats that have no visual communication with the stage. Also, the sitting plan that is online, is not really true to reality because it showed a column right on the left of my seat, which i found out was right in front of my feet. Left 10 minutes after the show started. I understand that 110 SEK don't buy the best seat possible, but i've been in many theaters across europe, and this is the first time such a thing happens.Too sad, because i was really excited for this.

About Kungliga Operan, The Royal Swedish opera House

Kungliga Operan, The Royal Swedish Opera House, is a world-renowned institution that has been entertaining audiences for over 240 years. Located in Stockholm, Sweden, the opera house is not only home to the Royal Swedish Opera but also to the Royal Swedish Ballet, Young at the Opera program, and the Royal Swedish Orchestra. Together they create unforgettable experiences for adults, children and families alike.

The history of Kungliga Operan dates back to 1773 when King Gustav III founded it as a way to bring culture and entertainment to his people. Since then it has become one of Europe's most prestigious opera houses with a rich history of performances by some of the world's greatest artists.

Today Kungliga Operan continues its tradition of excellence by presenting an array of operas and ballets throughout its season. From classic works like Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" and Verdi's "La Traviata" to contemporary pieces like Philip Glass' "Satyagraha," there is something for everyone at this iconic venue.

In addition to its mainstage productions, Kungliga Operan offers educational programs through its Young at the Opera initiative. This program provides opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to experience opera firsthand through workshops and performances designed specifically for them.

Another unique aspect of Kungliga Operan is its commitment to sustainability. The opera house has implemented several initiatives aimed at reducing their environmental impact including using renewable energy sources such as wind power and geothermal heating/cooling systems.

But what truly sets Kungliga Operan apart from other opera houses around the world is its stunning architecture. Designed by architect Axel Anderberg in 1898-1905 in neo-classical style with Art Nouveau elements on top floor balconies; it features grand staircases leading up into ornate foyers adorned with crystal chandeliers that lead into opulent auditoriums filled with plush red velvet seats.

Overall, Kungliga Operan offers an unparalleled cultural experience that combines history, artistry and innovation all under one roof. Whether you are a seasoned opera-goer or someone looking for a new cultural adventure - this iconic institution should be on your must-visit list when traveling through Stockholm!
