Pretty dope joint! Stopped in for 80's dance night and had a great time. Atmosphere is dark and awesome. Good energy! Reasonably priced drinks.10/10 would dance to "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" with somebody (who loves me... or not) again.

It's a good performance and dance bar with many events going on over a typical month.Everything from performances to dance events at reasonable prices.Kung Fu Necktie is situated well in Fishtown,Philadelphia with the subway and trolleys just a few blocks from it.

Well, they got the "FU" part of the name right. Feels like a leftover set from some 3rd rate "rock" movie from '08: just looks like every other made-to-order rock dive you've ever seen. That said, I've probably seen more good shows with horrendous local openers here than anywhere. But if you go for an event and find its been bumped upstairs then you're in for a treat.

I've been here a couple times. Once the bouncer being a dick to my friend because she had an out of state ID, and then another time I went to a Disney themed night and saw multiple couples grinding to Under the Sea from the Little Mermaid, so... interpret that as you will. Not the worst bar though and obviously I'm a little biased against it. One big issue for me is that I don't see any reason to go here over the Barbary which I like a lot more for a dancing bar.

Classic staple place to kick back and have a beer and socialize with friends and local like minded folks. Great place to catch an inexpensive local show of virtually any band or live performer you could ever want. This place is legendary in it's own right.

Employees are cool, sound is ok. They need to remove the pool table that takes up half the front room. Usually overly hot inside, no matter the weather outside. Seating is very limited and the fact that the show room is raised above the barroom makes it impossible to see anything on stage unless you're right up front.

This is one of the coolest venues I've ever played at. Played here on tour from North Carolina in 2017, and definitely hope to return. Philadelphia is one of the most fun cities I've visited, and this venue is no exception. Good drink prices, accommodations for touring acts, higher than average attendance, and I got the opportunity to meet some really cool people! Definitely check out a show here when you can.

The Kung Fu necktie is a hole in the wall hipster bar for Millennials under the L train practically! Basically with this place it is like SpongeBob on opposite day and everything is backwards! If they're having one of their little so-called events most people are going to have trouble with the doorman taking the money and that's never a good thing for any money making establishment. The next problem is the size of this venue and the fact that it's just a hole in the wall! They have no regular beers at this place so you won't find Budweiser, Miller, Corona, Yuengling, or any of that stuff. You will find what they calling craft beers but are cheap knockoffs made from ground up Christmas trees at a high price. Places like this ruin the metal scene and are continuing to do so. I remember when they had a N.S. Band called Krieg play and all the Hipster skinheads were there for the black metals. Hipster Jameson took the stage and just yelled into the microphone for a while with his buddy the Hipster drummer just playing aimlessly! Also hipster and Millennial culture needs to stop! Places like this should not even encourage them if they want to be an efficient business!

They've always had shows here but the last couple months have been killer. A lot of punk and metal. It's a small venue but that's what makes a great show. Nice and intimate. The bar has great specials and I love the atmosphere. Truly an institution in Philly.
