Terrible from beginning to end. Made us wait an hour extra because we were a little late to our reservation. They charge $5 per person to cut a damn birthday cake. The server was good but the food sucked and especially for the prices. Overall horrible experience. Ambience is nice and music is good but thats it.

Very good service!

Very good service!
The food is rich but small portions
The duck is fine, nothing fantastic
The drinks are delicious
But it is tremendously expensive
Really disproportionate in terms of prices
Approximately $ 150 per person, it's crazy !!

Incredible dining experience in the heart of Brickell. We ordered tons of variety, from the salmon rolls, to the wagyu dumplings, chicken salad, short ribs, truffle mushroom lo mein, and a variety of desserts and cocktails. Everything was phenomenal. The best dishes were the Wagyu Beef Tacos, the short ribs (so tender you won't believe), and the s'more dessert. The only dish we disliked was the Korean Fried Chicken. Pass on that one. Service was impeccable as well. Shout-out to Ergis.

We have been here numerous times but this time will be our last. The food in every aspect was terrible. Fried rice that was hard and tasteless, sushi that didn t taste like much either. Don t know what happened but won t be returning.

Initial waiter was arrogant rude and only tried to sell us expensive bottles after we told him about food allergy. Manager took over and was great as was Joshua replacement waiter
Food was ok but not worth $28 per sushi roll. All about the scene. One extra star for great music.

Amazing food! And that's the reason fir the 3 stars. Service is terrible. All of the host/hostess are rude, very rude, ask questions at your own risk. You are not given a table if your party is not complete, even if you have a reservation, which only stop guests from consuming while waiting... dumb! Waiter was very slow, and he practically ignored us, took the order and brought the food, but did not check on us midway and did not offer or brought the dessert menu; every time we needed something we had to call him. Nice place, great food, good drinks, but not a good experience.

While appetizer are a small affair... nonetheless, we the customers should be treated with courtesy ! Our appetizers came so far apart that we each ate alone....the grilled Octopus, sounds good ...right? Was the size of of a 2oz infant jar...with marginal flavor...the waiter did not bother to ask how our dinner was and or have common courtesy.... needless to say, WE SUGGEST ....YOU STAY AWAY ! Until Management and staff realize the customers are the ones paying them...

Let s get this out of the way first - the food is good and the setting is cool. The place looks nice, and it makes you feel special just to eat here. The staff was attentive.

So why a 3? The prices were more than a little high. The Cod, at $49, was more of a starter plate than an entre. The duck was $99. Drinks $17. We spent $200 having an entre each and one drink, shared a dessert, and left feeling hungry. No appetizer or salad. Another $200 would have probably done the trick. Want a good, solid meal without feeling you shortchanged your appetite? Expect to spend $200 per person. And we are far from obese or gluttonous. The opposite. Fit, lean, healthy eaters.

Oh, and gratuity is included. Watch yourself - don t get tricked into another 18%. They do post that on the check, but I m sure plenty of people miss that and tip again without realizing it. And the basically mandatory Valet Parking adds anther $15.

Not a great service and the food was ok. After hearing so much about this place, I felt extremely disappointed when I end up going there. The service was very slow and not organized. My friends receive and ate their appetizers and I was waiting about 15 minutes after they were done. Lobster Dynamite was not worth the extra 15 minutes wait. The Branzino was good, but too salty. The Semifreddo was too hard, you need to cut it with a knife in order to eat it! I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. Overrated food and service!

so I used to love this place. I went tonite and it was very underwhelming. first off they changed the menu and removed some of the best dishes. the items that were removed were the tuna and watermelon capacious, the cod dumplings, the black rice and the banana chocolate dessert. these are my favorite dishes and I was really at a loss as to what to order. the menu was not appetizing. we settled on ordering 4 sashimi dishes, 1 tuna roll and beef jerky. the sashimi and roll was very average- really nothing special. our bill was $250 for 5 small plates and 3 drinks. totally not worth it. we sat outside and it was really dark. I would not prefer to sit outside again.
so disappointed because this used to be one of my favorite places but I don't think I will be going back.

The food was great and the service was unbeatable. The issue I have with this place is the price per portion. My friend ordered three sushi rolls just to fill his stomach and he is 160lbs. Each roll is supposed to be a meal. His bill was over 100$ just on rolls. I never eat seafood and I was confused on what was seafood and what was not. I ended up getting seafood and surprisingly I really enjoyed it. I was left famished after the whole meal due to the portion size.

Komodo has a great atmosphere--perhaps the best in Miami. The lounge upstairs is fun post-dinner as well. That all said, I still do not believe its decor or food quality lives up to Tao or some of the other trendy Asian fusion restaurants this is clearly trying to emulate. The food quality is good, but not sensational. It's really a place to visit for style over substance.

Great food and great atmosphere. My partner and I celebrated our Valentine's Day on Sunday due to our work/school schedules today. We had the spicy beef dumplings, edamame, chilean sea bass, szcheuan beef and garlic crab noodles. Every single dish was delicious. The sea bass and noodles were our favorite. The atmosphere was intimate. We had a reservation for 6 PM which was the time they opened, so it was nice and quiet. We will definitely be back again, and next time, we're ordering the Peking duck!

Very very very slow serving for the food took us about an hour for 2 rolls and 2 cooked fish. I didn't expect the serve will be that slow during a weekday and for a restaurant with its reputation.

I made a reservation to eat at Komodo for days for last Thursday. On my way I called the restaurant to let them know I will be few minutes late because of one accident, (even if I know they can keep the table for 15min). The hostess told me "sure no problem we keep the table for you" ... i arrived there less than 15min late. and she told me that my reservation is over and i have to wait 20min... i was really upset already about the bad service! and after 45min waiting standing up against the wall my friend went to ask her how long we gonna have to wait again?! and she totally ignored her! and called the next person on the line! i told her it's inaceptable to act like that, to have such a bad organisation and didn't put us at least at the bar! specially when you have a 7months pregnant women who shouldn't wait standing up against the wall for 40min because they don't know how to work properly! the hostess didn't day her name but she was really rude, stupid and really UGLY! with terrible glasses and her half blond hair not even done! REALLY BAD SERVICE!!!!

Place to be see and be seen. Similar to Zuma in Brickell. Decor was amazing with nice indoor and outdoor seating and bars. Food unfortunately was so so . For apptz, we had the charred octopus which was well cooked but just a bit plane. Shishitto peppers had no heat and was drenched in sauce . Beef jerky was , well chewing similar to a fried clams and the hamachi jalapeno had yuzu and the most bland jalapenos I've ever had . Portions we're good for sharing . The prawn dumplings we're also nothing special for the price. As for the main meal we decided to order a bunch of dishes and share. Grilled lobster was lacking some char but was acceptable. The Szechuan steak (NY strip) first time around was severely over cooked for a med rare but was promptly fixed . Would of been better with a rib eye cut but this was only available in a 32oz . Tahini chicken was more like a chicken salad. We also tried the Chilean seabass which was probably the best dish of the night. The arroz con pato (duck rice in hot stone pot) was like a Korean bibimbap and was pretty good for sharing. Overall I'd probably go back but not for dinner. Total bill for 4 came to a little over $700 with food drinks .

Drinks are definitely pricey. Food is good. Great ambience/setting. DJ downstairs definitely has some good years under his belt. Kudos!! Flow and selection were great! Lounge DJ, not so much. Too much of the same sound.

Not sure how this is already being rated so well, considering it isn't open. Good news though, looks like it is any day now. The place looks like it will be about the experience, as there are 4 tiers of out door seating that is built to look like they are suspended in the middle of a forest. Check out the photos to see what I mean. 5 starts for promising looks, real rating to come when it is opened. (12/23/15 review)

Food and drinks were delicious but the service was a whole ordeal. I made the reservation for 9pm and they kept us waiting like idiots because my whole party wasn t present, instead of letting me in so I can consume until my guests arrived. I ended up being seated around 11:00 pm, on a 9 pm reservation. Anyway, after waiting, we had to speak to the manager so that they give us a table, otherwise we would never be seated. The calling of the tables was a total chaos because there are so many people in the entrance, is hard to talk to the receptionists, which were rude. And be aware that they charge a $25/person fee if you cancel the reservation, which has to be made with credit card.
Overall, total chaos but food made it worth all the hassle we went through. If you want hear your guests, don t come here, total mess.

I wanted to give it only 2 stars but the space is so nicely designed & decorated I went up one star! Service? What service, just a bunch of arrogant employees that pretend you don't exist! Food looks good, but the taste is average, I really wanted this place to be better, so much potential, but they missed it on service & taste...the bartender pretended we didn't exist the entire nite, we had to get a nearby waitress to help us...still had a good time.

If Cheesecake Factory decided to serve more Asian American fare it would probably outcompete the food here. Sprawling establishments like this, although well decorated with good ambiance, cannot seem to prepare high quality food for so many diners. And so the customers pay $38 for Crab Lo Mein that you can find a better version of at your local strip mall, in order to offset the million dollar decor. Definitely a one and forever done kind of place.

Reservation means nothing for this place. I made a reservation for 10:30pm for dinner. I got at the place with a huge line for the check-in, and at the moment I was informed they were "behind", so it would take 15 to 20 min to be seated. My table got ready 1 hour and 1 minute after the reserved time.

Don't waste your time making a reservation.

The restaurant it's pretty cool, nice environment but, the music in the dinning area was extremely loud, it's a restaurant not a club(They actually got one on the second floor, really small but cool and it's free If you had dinner in Komodo + they gave us 2 free shots of "I don't know what" upthere). Another big ISSUE was that we made a reservation for 11:30 pm and once there we had to wait almost 45 minutes to get a table. The food was good but the portions were extremely small, so if you're expecting to go there and full your stomach, think twice. The best part of my night: My Goku drink :) they should put a reference of the anime on the drink! :) Overall nice experience $$$

Had an amazing time at Komodo for my birthday dinner. All the food had an incredible balance of flavors and the servers were awesome! The Wagyu and seafood were so tender and melts in your mouth. The atmosphere was also very nice. The garden could use just a bit more spotlight during the evening, it was just a bit too dim. Komodo is definitely an asian-inspired, asian-fusion restaurant so it's not traditional Asian food but the flavor is very nice and definitely more Asian-American. Highly recommend!
