KNUST VC IS NOT APPLYING HIS COMMON SENSE

Cry the beloved university. Yes, we will mourn for our beloved university because our professors are refusing to think. They keep on urging us to think outside the box yet they prefer thinking right inside the box. What a shame ..

How they find it comfortable in telling us how they used to sleep one in a room during their time. They were fed two times daily. They were given monthly stipend. After their education, they were sent abroad to pursue higher degrees. They once embarked on a demonstration because they were fed up with eating chicken always.

It came to their turn to take up the administration of the school and all they could do to solve ever increasing accommodation challenges were to increase the number of occupants in the rooms from one to two and from two to three and from three to four till each student could only sleep once in a four years lifetime. What a dramatic irony ..!

The last hall ever to be built on KNUST campus was in 1968. Meanwhile from that time to date, a number of different courses have been introduced. This in turn have amounted to an abnormal increase in student enrollment. Common sense would tell anyone to increase the number of halls to cater for this contemporary challenge. At least University of Ghana did it and they succeeded. Why can t KNUST follow suit? I guess their only solution is to convert Male Halls into Mixed Halls was the only solution to the ever-increasing student population in the university.

I guess it is time we challenge our professors to wear their thinking cups, at least if not every day just for once. KNUST need more HALLS. Simplicity

One of the nicest attractions for tourist who come to Kumasi I would say. Just grab a taxi or tro tro to Tek Junction and walk the campus. One can easily spend two hours or so walking around. Also some of the restaurants on campus are quite alright and tourists could combine their walk with lunch in-between.
