One of the few places left that offers affordable rent for middle class working people, on-site management with a large staff of employees who care for the maintenance of 12 buildings. Knickerbocker is NOT a Mitchell - Lama or a rent-stabilized complex, it's under Article 4, a complicated law that keeps it affordable. Attempts have been made in the past to change that, which failed, a recent Co-op conversion has also been taken off the table, Knickerbocker remains a rental. The downside to living in this area is few decent stores, and parking is nearly impossible.
