Great beginner's climbing course! Friendly staff, nice beer and good facilities for climbing.
Great discounted price on Saturday nights, a cool place to unwind and get some exercise!
Nice climb hall in Amsterdam cozy environment and nice staff
Good atmosphere but some strange routes... The area for bouldering isn't very large.
Nice place people are doing nice but in the end you get scammed with money without most of them noticing.
Climbing with the kids to lose energy from all this corona hassle
Great climbing hall. 18m high indoor and outdoor routes. Top rope, lead climbing and lots of boulders. Constant updates of climbing routes and boulders means there's always a new challenge to keep it fresh and interesting. Highly recommended. :-)
The most routes for indoor climbing in NL. Split level, never crowded.
Nice climbing hall. Not too touristy. Very high and also an outside area.
Beautiful climbing hall with both indoor and outdoor facilities
Amazing place, amazing people and amazing climbing. This place cant be wrong. Prachtig! You can enjoy clases for every level. There are a lot of Climbing routes and Boulders to do. It even have a place outside for the warm summer days. I definitely recommend it
I love this place, lots of square meters of wall and a slightly above average difficulty level. It's a great place to train.
After being here during the passed week with my brother i was met by a somewhat rude greeting by one of the employees. though after climbing for a bit there was more of a welcome feeling from them be it having a lauguage barrier didnt help.
My main issue with the climbing gym was my general feel of unease while climbing there, main of the ropes were filthy and you could very clear see that the figure eight knot had not been untied in a long time as layers of grime and chalk had built up around it.
As for the outdoor walls behind the main building, i began to climb one face after securing myself in, after five or six holds i knew i needed of the wall. my brother had taken all the slack off the rope to take my weight as i let go. only to find that i still plummeted the 10 or so feet to the ground below me. i feel that the lack of care that goes into the ropes and grips here is a flaw in the safety they are providing for the customers.
High climbing hall with many facilities! Also possible to climb outside. Very compact inside
Chill atmosphere with friendly staff and more climbing space than you can shake a stick at! Thoroughly enjoyable, will definitely be back.
Great climbing gym, with friendly instructors. The climbing routes are more difficult compared to other gyms, so this place is more suitable for experienced climbers in my opinion.
If you're looking for a place to spend your time in sports, you've just found it. This place offers the opportunity to check yourself (training on boulders) or simply great fun which is getting a climbing wall, you use professional belay equipment under the guidance of an instructor. You can rent the necessary equipment and afterwards have a coffee at the bar. I would recommend.
Beautiful climbing hall with challenging routes. But especially good atmosphere and nice people.
The largest climbing hall in the Benelux. Simple bar for a cup of coffee and small shop with climbing equipment. Especially for climbing enthusiasts and otherwise you have nothing to look for.
So far I like climbing hall Amsterdam. You can climb very high and there are many different routes. It is cold in winter.
Staff are just really cool! And the atmosphere is just chill and great to rock climb
Children aged 6 had been fun but for once. It is warm above and also heavy and long-winded. So a little more playful would be nice.
Beautiful place quickly feels busy even though there were only 18 people
Big climbing hall with walls for all levels, inside as well as outside!
NL: The staff is nice and funny, you can easily have a conversation with them. The prices for the food is a bit pricey but you can easily eat your own food there.
You can follow climbing lessons, which is definitely recommended. You have a new assignment every week. At Easter, for example, they have hidden Easter eggs and you have to find them.
Neat climbing hall where you can also find fun. After a nice climb you can sit on the couch and enjoy your drink.
Very nice room. Paths of beautiful heights
Opening of nice tracks. Sharing with the easy locals. Hardware and safety at the top
Very nice climbing hall, but a lot of smooth handles
Best plan in a long time ... I wanted to climb for a long time but it never happened. Finally done with very high expectations. And yes, Klimhal Amsterdam has met all expectations, and then some !! Top staff, super friendly and helpful, very varied climbing routes and good facilities. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a challenging sport.
Very cool, large climbing hall with many challenging routes. The service is good and their courses are also very useful.
Pleasant instructor. Very large, beautiful climbing hall.
You must bring your own sets for outdoor pre-climbing, otherwise the sets must be rented (access is already 14 euros, rope with sets 13.50 extra!). These sets are probably from the 90s and run very stiff, some of the carabiners do not close properly and have worn out tire slings. Reported this, received 1 extra carabiner with the request to change with a bad carabiner if necessary. I think this is not possible; very dubious in terms of safety and to my knowledge against the guidelines of, among others, nkbv. The sets have been used for only 2 seasons according to the bartender, but the 'newest' set was already 10 years old (remnant from the own shop), other sets were probably much older, labels were illegible due to wear. Number of sets is insufficient for the amount of hooks, I found this at the top. Announcement from an employee: then you skip a set? Come on, take safety seriously.
Friendly staff furthermore and you can borrow sets instead of renting. Outside lead climbing not great in terms of routes, but ok in corona time.
One of the few bouldering options available at the moment. What a pity that there is so little love in the wall. After 3 weeks 2 new boulders ... And then look inside to see routes being built there ..... A pity
Super beautiful and large climbing hall. We went with 2nd son (34 and 12 years) completely without experience but the guidance was great. It is really very high (20 meters) but also for beginners there are possibilities to get very high. There is also a bar for some food and drinks. There is parking space around the building where you can park for free.

High ceiling, lots of challenging routes of all grades
Drinking coffee and looking at the hall. We older sisters. Read that they are not customer friendly .. speak against it. Very customer friendly. Even indicated that with the nice weather you could also enjoy the coffee outside, they thought it was funny that WE only came to drink coffee. VERY CUSTOMER-FRIENDLY
Nice first introduction to climbing! Friendly staff and lots of room to learn how to climb.
We have been here for the birthday of our 10 year old son. Great age for climbing. There are several routes they can already do. The atmosphere is relaxed. 1 adult per 2 children for belaying. They also liked the bollards (climbing without security to approximately 2.5 meters).
What a great place!!! Everyone is so nice. Lots of different types of climbing available. Hard setting for the grades though
Beautiful spacious hall. Also nice for a children's party.
It is a very beautiful climbing hall. Many many beautifully built routes with a lot of variety. Thanks to the builders. By using auto belay's you can train well, even if you don't have anyone on hand. Outside on the climbing tower you can pretty with your best climbing. You can also park for free and there is a small bar where you can sit and refuel.
Super nice community there! Everyone pays attention to each other's safety, there is plenty of challenge and a pleasant atmosphere.
Really recommend!
Awesome place! A couple of nice outdoor routes and a chill atmosphere.
I was calling the place at least 5 times before the celebration to ask for more details, every time I got different information . still continue with as I didn t want to disappoint my son
We arrived at the date and location, the staff was so rude and unhelpful. nothing that was agreed happened. The pick was that in the end I got an enormous bill much more than planned and when I tried to discuss it with the team they shout at me that I'm a lier in front of my son and his friends. Eventually, they discovered the mistake the made and it was corrected. They even offered my son free lesson in the future and he refused to say that he will never come back to the place they called his mom a lier. I was really shocked still didn't want to make a huge drama and the next day I called the manager to complain Mr. Bart Verschuren who was even ruder, disrespectful and dismissive than his stuff .which explain a lot about his team they have an 'excellent mentor'. Never Never Never again horrible experience. I wish this place will close down!
Super nice climbing gym. For both beginners and advanced.
The climbing hall and safety seem to be in an outdated state. As adults, two of us hit a sharp beam at the top when descending. Too cramped, too busy and the reaction was the staff was far from customer friendly. We did not feel taken seriously when reporting this unsafe situation (the sharp bar) and were told by a member of staff that this has been known for some time and frustration has not yet been done. Unacceptable. Not recommended.
I loved this place. Don't listen to what some people say. Go and enjoy.
Climbing route's change every few months and the people are really kind you can always ask questions.
I was incredibly excited to go to this gym and climb with my friend who was visiting me in Amsterdam. I was greeted by a lovely woman, then passed over to a male worker. Whom I informed I had only climbed a few times, so I would need a little instruction, though my friend had climbed many times before.
He then proceded to take our money, and give us the appropriate gear, which with each piece a little snarl like 'oh you dont have that either?' *didn't actually say, just weird looks*
Then instead of giving me a little advise that I asked for on the harness he sat there staring me down and saying 'wrong, wrong'.
At this point I began to feel quite uncomfortable.
We then went into the climbing area and he just gave me the carabiner, with a quick 4 second show of how to clip it on he then told me to belay, now I have done this before but had told him I would need a little guidance.
He refused to give me any and put me on the spot without showing me anything...
Then told my partner, 'your not climbing here'.
I fully understand the safety precautions a gym must take, but this man refused to even guide or give any other option, he put us both on the spot like he was trying to establish some kind of dominance. I have never felt so belittled.
He then had my friend to the same thing whilst on the phone the whole time and just said 'go climb' to me.
When we decided to get our money back and leave. I was so torn up by the situation, the woman could definatly tell something was stange and tried to make lighter of the tense situation.
It was by far the rudest experience I've had with anyone here in Amsterdam.
Spacious. Lots and lots of routes in every difficulty. Knowledgeable staff with a keen eye on safety. Relaxed crowd.
Large climbing hall with also a substantial boulder section. Something for everyone. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. With outdoor boulders and climbing routes, that really adds something (in the summer then). Many children nowadays. The staff handles this well to reasonably. Fairly often fresh routes. Staff are usually willing to explain / show how to do a difficult move. Sometimes a bit of an 'old boys' raisin bread atmosphere', which does not come across well to everyone. Usually not too busy so you can climb / try out at ease. Good walking distance from Sloterdijk station.
Beauty could be a bit better. Often blockages in the shower and toilet, and the outer boulders could use a makeover.
This is more of a hard-core climbing gym than a beer-food-and-oh-yes-yet-ff climbing gym. I like that.
Nice climbing hall outside and inside. Unfortunately not customer friendly!
really cool place, with an outdoor climbing wall too. Staff was super cool and showed me around, even offered me a pair of climbing shoes. Will definitely try the beer there next time.
Very high climbing hall in Amsterdam west where you can climb both indoors and outdoors. They also have systems where you can climb on your own without someone having to tie you down, handy!
Great for sports, active parties or just for fun. It is just outside of Amsterdam, but a 15 minute walk from Sloterdijk.
It is a bit busy at times, and the building could do with a makeover here and there, but you won't come for that anyway.
Long routes with a lot of overhang. Hygiene could be better.
Great climbing hall with very friendly staff! Definitely worth a visit if you want to climb in Amsterdam!
Great fun to climb here! All supervisors are nice, and fun to go to when you spend a day in Amsterdam.
