A beautiful building in fantastic grounds, visited here for evening networking event and couldn't fault the place. Great staff, service and attention to detail. I didn't eat there but heard that the food was equally as good.
Beautiful building in a peaceful setting. The stars at night and views in the morning are gorgeous. Slightly lacking in maintenance to be true luxury but lovely staff, delicious food, clean, and quiet. Loved it there
Some pros, a lot of cons. There is a nice walk through the woods however it is not clearly labelled so we did get lost a few times. The area is nice and the staff are friendly however there were a few issues, we had a loft room which meant the shower was very cramped and uncomfortable (Picture attached). The main room door also had a huge gap at the bottom so you could hear everything going on outside (picture attached), not only that but the room wasn't the cleanest as there were cobwebs and stains around the room (picture attached). The cherry on the top for our stay was the fire alarm going off in the morning (worse timing ever after getting out of the shower), we ran down stairs after the alarm had stopped and started a few times to find out that they had burnt some toast and no one really seemed to care. When the alarm stopped the first time we tried to call reception but there was no answer.
Excellent location and lovely hotel with warm reception and tasty food in the restaurant.
We have been to Kitley many times over the years and believe its recently changed hands and has had a refurb which looks lovely and you can now use rooms previously closed off. We had Sunday lunch, which was okay but not outstanding but it was still nice to visit and we will be back. Afternoon tea has always been great value and one of the best around but not had one yet with the new owners, something to do soon.
Food was good, not amazing. Venue is lovely. Service wasn't great, a little unorganised. I was expecting a lot more from the restaurant and was left feeling disappointed.
I cannot find a hotel and restaurant with more English style than this. Centuries of History between its walls...
I went here with my pregnant fiancee just to relax and get away from the world and this place did just that. We started with Afternoon tea which was amazing all the cakes were perfect the sandwiches were average though but the cakes made up for that. The room was spacious and gave a nice view in to the countryside. We spent most of our time in the room as it had a very relaxing atmosphere. When we left the room though the staff are really attentive and can't do enough. The evening meal was amazing both of our dinners were phenomenal. The food here is exceptional so even if you don't plan on staying the night I'd recommend just having a meal here.
Lovely old building, set in beautiful countryside. The staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful, we couldn't praise them highly enough. The food and service was great and the decor in the common areas is fabulous. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our stay.
Highly over rated. Bedroom decor and state of bathroom needs a major revamp/refit. Bathroom more had the feel of a mortuary. Very antiquated and freezing cold with no heating or hot water working in the bathroom at all. Bedroom had a huge stain on it from water ingress/leaks from above running down the wall and peeling wallpaper. Numerous lights and side lights didnt work. Hotel had no spare might bulbs to replace or try get the lights to work. Raised with staff on reception at the time who didnt seem to really care or bat an eyelid. Very expensive for what you get and disappointing as we thought it was going to be Beautiful. No atmosphere at all and very over priced. Will never be back!!! Invest some money in maintaining the place before it becomes derelict!
