Then my son was insulted by the over zealous heckler at the til who appears to love bullying children when she's supposed to be helpin customers the only customers in the small store

Well I have to say I was greatly disappointed , I can buy a case of gf kinnikinnick bread/ eng muffins through gfs for 3$ less a loaf ? I thought it'd be cheaper or at least the same going right to the source.
I can get better variety of frozen goods at save on foods and it's not across town.
I'll stick to gluten free goods and save on.
The lady behind the counter was ok.

Unfortunately they do not take manufacturers coupons. I'm sure they have their reasons, but if you're not going to take coupons for products you sell, I see that as a poor business choice. I was planning on buying a few things, and only had one coupon. I'm sure others have followed suit since they have a giant sign saying they don't.

Easily some of the very best gluten free food available! Bagels that are actually so soft and delicious they mimic the real thing! I have to order online because I live in BC but I've been to the location in Edmonton and they are doing amazing things with cheese buns, cinnamon rolls, fresh bread, green onion cakes, cookies and seasonal items. I only wish that I could get those things here in Vancouver!

I go here to buy just the basics for my husband who has celiac. Everything I have bought so far (bread, pizza crusts, cheese buns, and pizza buns) he has loved. It s not easy to find gluten free food that tastes relatively decent. I really wish they had a second location on the south or southwest side of the city.

Why did I wait so long to go to this store. An extremely clean store. Very cute bakery products. You can even buy a few single bakery products in store rather than in big packages. Lots of in store sales and special items. You will not be sorry to stop here, even if you are a long time buyer of these products via the freezer in the grocery store like me :) Thanks for the great service at the front- the blonde lady was a gem. Very informative. Thanks again EDIT: I had pizza buns today that were to die for. I've never seen gluten free pizza buns anywhere else in the city!! a+++`

This place is one of our favorites for gluten free and dairy free items. To have a dedicated shop right here in Edmonton is quite the treat. The staff is friendly. Our favorites are the muffins, lemon tarts and butter tarts.

I have been meaning to check out Kinnikinnick Fresh for quite some time and now that I've finally had a chance to stop in I just wish I would have done so sooner.

There is a HUGE selection of gluten free and dairy free items with some frozen and packaged foods and a large selection of freshly baked goods.

The muffins, specifically the lemon cranberry is the absolute best GF/DF muffin I have ever had! Chocolate chip was also delicious and the blue raspberry was great according to my 3 year old (who stole it that evening lol).

The hamburger buns were soft and didn't fall apart, similar to the Udi's buns. I tried a frozen strawberry rhubarb pie that was really tasty though I'm a big rhubarb fan so it could have been a little more sour but it was still delicious. The frozen cinnamon buns were really good, I'll have to try and find them fresh another day. The cinnamon raisin scones go perfectly with a hot cup of tea and I also picked up some whoopi pies that were good.

All in all I would highly recommended anyone interested in GF foods (with most DF as well) to check them out.

My mecca! So happy that Kinnikinnick is around. I've been celiac for 11 years, and their products have come a long way in that time!! The soft bread is incredible - no need to toast the bread. Having a soft sandwich for the first time in years is life changing! They also make the best pizza buns... Nuke in the microwave for a few seconds... if you can even make it home with them. Also a great place to buy cooking or baking ingredients, along with a great selection of baked goods to purchase.

Reason for three stars.... They extreme it to vegan and don't differentiate celiac and vegan separately. Really means since there's not a lot of places to go for gluten-free. You're sort of stuck with what they believe.
Would be 5 stars otherwise.

Actual review n

Great place to go if you're a celiac. They do have lots of selection though I am finding more and more that they go without dairy and without egg. Generally means it always goes without taste too. They really need to consider the fact that if you're celiac does NOT necessarily mean that you're a total vegan either. They should cater to both. Not just go with the ultimate extreme.
Do find that they are getting into a lot more fresh bake stuff rather than going from pre-made out of their main distribution site.

Great selection of gluten and dairy free products, including delicious fresh baking and confectionery. The Kinnickinnick brand has always been trustworthy for high quality products, whether I buy them here or at other grocers that they ship to. There's also a small grocery section that contains some common gluten free products of other brands, but they make many of their own versions, and the prices are usually lower than elsewhere and with larger portions. The fresh baguettes and cream puffs (dairy free!) are amazing.

The store is clean, well stocked and staffed by friendly knowledgeable people. We primarily shop here for the fresh baked gluten free items; my son really likes their pizza buns, sticky buns and doughnuts.

Great selection of fresh baked goods, with very clear labelling. I was looking for a dessert I could share with my celiac friend AND my friend with a dairy allergy. We had a BEST lemon meringue pie with sprinkles on top.

Our kids were thrilled when they entered this store with all of the options that we could stock up on. We really enjoyed the pizza buns as an afternoon snack and the cinnamon and sticky buns were a nice treat this morning. We stocked up on a few items to bring home with us and are already looking forward to our next trip up to Edmonton to try new items.

Kinnikinnick is a shrine for the gluten free community in Edmonton. Not only are they a top manufacturer of gluten free foods, they have a store for locals to visit where they can get fresh goodies like buns, cupcakes, muffins etc. at all a decent price. We buy cases of their gluten free flour and gluten free pancake mix at a reasonable price. Definitely must visit.

Tried their frozen maple glazed donuts from the grocery store, popped them in the oven and they came out perfect! The glaze was still intact, and the donut was so soft and delicious. I m not gluten free and I highly recommend!

It's unfortunate when a company like Kinnikinnicks loses its customer service focus. We have been customers of Kinnikinnicks for over 9 years.
Like many growing companies they forget about the customer.
At least there are other excellent choices for gluten free products such as Udis.

This is a great option for celiac/gluten sensitive people. The fresh baked options are ahhhhhmazing. Try the onion-sauerkraut buns (To die for) or the chocolate pastry (my non-gf husband loves them) THEY HAVE FRESH CHRISTMAS CAKE! There are also many options of Kinnikinick product as well as other company's offerings. Great place to shop.

When picking up pies for work Kinnikinnick Fresh was suggested as an allergy friendly bakery. The store front is not very big but they have a fairly good selection of products, similar to most bakeries. Their baked goods are prepared in a gluten and nut free facility and the two pies I purchased (cherry and apple) were also both dairy free. The work crowed enjoyed the pies and they were only a few dollars more than you would pay for a grocery store pie and much less expensive than a from a specialty pie shop. I will be going here again for gluten, nut, and dairy free baked goods!

Thoughtful staff and owner. Kid's friends asked us to bring our family's cupcakes to a class bake sale. Secret ingredient: kinnickinnic chocolate cake mix. Gluten-free without a taste penalty.

I was really excited about their gluten free food,...

I was really excited about their gluten free food, especially being brand new to celiac disease.
The food is okay.
Unfortunately the customer service is their biggest down fall, and what is keeping me from wanting to order again.

My order came in damaged and just a mess. When I called I was met with "ughs" and sighs as if I was the one inconveniencing them.
Replacement was supposed to ship on Thursday and be in the Calgary area of Friday. It didn't show up, so I asked for a tracking number on Monday morning. The order did show up late that afternoon, which is fine, but after the phone call the week before I wanted to make sure it shipped.

Online custom support "shows your order arrived. Are you good now?"
I explained why I asked for the tracking number and the experience I had the week before.

Their response: They were busy, so they didn't have time to be nice or use basic customer service. But they will let her know. Direct quote --> " I'll pass this on and let her know you said so."

If you have celiac disease or otherwise need to avoid gluten, this is an awesome bakery! They have the best fresh cinnamon buns. Prices are pretty good. They also have some dairy free items as well, with seperate labeled tongs to use.

I m so glad I found a gluten free bread that actually tastes very similar to regular slice bread but also looks like it and it's about the same size. Multigrain is my favorite. I also need to point out that it's quite affordable in comparison with all the other gluten free brands out there. And trust me when I say that I have purchased & tasted probably every brand there is out there for the past 13years since I was diagnosed with celiac.
Keep up the great work

Their Chocolate Cupcakes are so delicious. There's no grainy rice bread here, everything is soft and fluffy, you feel like you're eating gluten without the gluten. They also cater to us dairy intolerant people :) yay!

Donuts are good. Most of their other baked product...

Donuts are good. Most of their other baked products are dry right off the shelf. English muffins are more like sweet buns that could be used for strawberry shortcake instead of anything savoury like other English muffins, but again, very very dry. Other gluten free brands of English muffins are far superior and more closely resemble a gluten version. They also don't deliver certain products out of their store so all in all, it's not worth the trip or the money.
