Kingswood Senior Living Community Review

David and I have lived here a year. We were excited to move into our beautiful villa, but we didn't know anyone here. In less than a month we felt like we were a part of this wonderful community. The residents are friendly, amazing individuals, and the staff has kept us safe and happy even during this pandemic. We love the maintenance free life style and the food is great!

Kingswood Health and Rehab Center. First meeting with staff and there was no representative from medical staff. They had medications on her list that we told them twice they had been discontinued. The response to call button has been an HOUR. Complaint of everyone there. I went to get aid for a man yelling help for 20 minutes and never saw anyone come to his aid 40 minutes after that. I guess it means under staffed. But place is negligent.

Would never, never allow a family member to reside at this place.

My father has been there for nearly 10 years I wouldn't trust him any other place.

In looking for a new home for a loved-one, we were concerned about the environment, facilities, and staff reaction to issues (as they always will happen). With a parent living at Kingswood, it is a great place with wonderful facilities and a welcoming environment.

While staff handling of issues is closer to a 4 (vs overall 5), they are still very good. It is unfortunate to read a past employee "slamming" the management. In all my years of work, there are always unhappy employees and they either work to make things better and/or complain & leave. Sometimes the first option just does not work. If that is the case, I certainly hope management reads that post and determines how to make it better.

An overriding measure for me is that I feel my mother is safe and in an environment with a lot of other residents who truly care about Kingswood and the other residents. It is a hard transition for anyone in their later years having to change their way of life and where they lay their head at night. This transition was made easier by the other residents. That is part of what I like about this specific community.

Facilities & Services -- Great food, wonderful dining area, very nice indoor heated swimming pool. The other public areas are all updated and welcoming. The transportation is one area to make sure you really understand as it does have a cost if you are not on the scheduled days to go to appointments. The new resident just needs to understand and be comfortable with that if he/she will not be driving.

Kingswood has been a complete blessing for our family. My Mom moved into Memory Care the summer of 2019. It was a sudden move from the family home of 50+ years and left Mom very confused. The staff was wonderful and every single day helped her through what was a difficult transition. In the Fall of '19 we actually moved Mom to a different facility to be close to my Dad. Ultimately - we realized the best thing for both of them was residency at Kingswood AND they both now reside at Kingswood. We could not be happier. We've seen a lot in the past 18 months as we've tried to do the best thing for our parents. Kingswood exceeds expectations across the board.

1 St class caring and devoted staff that goes the Xtra mile (and more) for the residents

Worst place you could ever let your loved ones live in, and worst place you could work in. The human resources director, Patricia Hawkins will make you want to shoot your foot off before working here. Working class staff is treated badly by management and the residing residents because they think they're of a godly nature. A noncompetitive poor quality job is what you'll get when you walk into these doors. If you have a brain, don't come in. They talk like they're 5 star, they don't even rank a one star. Too bad I can't go any lower on my rating.

I simply had questions. After leaving 4 voice mails I never received a call back, so I decided to walk in. The person I was directed to didn't even take the time to introduce himself to me. I had to initiate the handshake. I asked two questions and could tell he was not taking me seriously and seemed bothered by me. At that point I didn't even bother with the rest of my questions, thanked him for his time and left. I just feel it was all rude and unnecessary.

Nurses are great, place is very clean. My grandmother loves it!!

Kingswood is a great community, they really take initiative to make this place feel like home. The staff and residents greet each other warmly by name, I really feel like I'm part of the family when I am there.

Very thankful for this awesome community and the employees that go above and beyond to care for the residents. Thank you Kingswood team for going above and beyond to protect our loved ones during this time.

Good food. Some of the living quarters are comfortable.

When it became clear that my uncle was not safe living by himself we investigated several senior communities in the KC area. He was reluctant to abandon his home, but we were impressed with Kingswood and convinced him to give it a try. It has been a wonderful choice. He began in assisted living, but it eventually became clear that he needed to be in memory care. We were so happy that we chose a facility with multiple levels of care on the same campus.
The facilities are very good and kept clean. Food is good. Most important to us were the staff/people that would be working with and supporting him. He has been treated with respect, kindness, and compassion by everyone. It is clear there is an institutional commitment to helping residents live meaningful and happy lives. I would like to give a special shout out to Karlene in administration, Thomas in dining, Emma in activities, and Chris in nursing. Thank you for your kindness to a much loved uncle!

My mom has been at Kingswood for almost 6 years. All of the staff that I have dealt with has been very caring! My siblings and I all live out of state. They are always willing to do whatever I have asked to help my mom. we have great peace knowing mom is surrounded by great friends and staff who care about her!
