The atmosphere is pleasant, the service is good, except for the dining room where the staff is unprofessional. It looks like a cheap job.
The selection of food at breakfast and at dinner on Thursday. Was meager and does not represent a value for the price the hotel charges. Expected from a hotel of this level to more.
This is not the experience I expected when I checked into the hotel.

Perfect location in walking distance to:

Perfect location in walking distance to:
Iyuda market, Western Wall, Montefiore Windmill, Bible Hill & small picturesque quarter nearby.
The design of the hotel reflects the 50-60s of XX century with pictures from 1930s when the hotel was built.
In the lobby walkway one can find the signatures of famous guests & celebrities stayed in the hotel, including Margaret Tatcher, Bill Clinton, Barak Obama and many others.
The service is good & quick. Too much attention to client every other minute though. But maybe somebody likes it :)

I visited King David while touring Israel with my family. We are Christian, and had no idea it was the Sukkot holiday! Because of the holiday there wasn't much hotel staff, I couldn't get a cappuccino at breakfast, service to the room was slow, and the staff wasn't as friendly as I was expecting for the price. It was completely my fault for booking during a holiday, but I expected something at the Ritz Carlton level, and while the staff was very nice, no one went out of their way to make us comfortable. I might return one day, but only after I check the calendar! Great location.

I made reservation 8 weeks prior to arrival date and ten days before the arrival I tried to upgrade. I emailed and no reply, I used their call back, which did not call back, I called central reservations that did not answer. I emailed again today, 12 hours after the first and 6 hours later still no reply. I will cancel and go to another hotel.

I am a veteran high level Google critic 8.

We came to the hotel for an initiated weekend in the Corona era.

The hotel made a great effort to function in a standard procedure. Success was high in all departments.

Well done to the dining room staff who did their best to operate in the harsh conditions of full serving.

We hope the hotel returns to normal soon. In the meantime, it is certainly possible to host Israelis in the beautiful format that was done over the weekend.

Good luck!

We stayed at the hotel last week

We stayed at the hotel last week
From the first moment, we were disappointed by cases such as cleaning the room, a broken sink faucet, an improper hair dryer and more ...
We complained at the reception and the response came only after 3 hours of waiting.
On the day of departure we preferred to leave the hotel earlier than planned because it was not pleasant to stay in the room.
In addition, the account we received was higher than the amount we booked the room
At the reception they demanded a higher fee than the booked price.
This is not to be expected to be taken for granted and to be disappointed by the "flag" hotel of the State of Israel

Have you seen the movie Exodus? With Paul Newman? Then the hotel must be known. One of the most famous hotels in the world, part of the history of the country. With historically small rooms and timelessly expensive prices. But those who can afford it should consider not spending their time there in a snorer, but taking lodgings. Best with carriages or Rolls Royce. If you see a world-famous personality in the lobby, do not start shouting right away, but stay cool. Otherwise everyone recognizes that they are a parvenu, without even having to take a look at your shoes. On the other hand, it can be fun to shout in a hall where Churchill and the Callas were already sitting ...

Excellent service. Israel's most important hotel and the place where dignitaries come to stay, and important international meetings are held. Great location by Jaffa Gate - entry to the Old City, King David's Synagogue, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, etc.

I was of as a guest of this hotel, as this hotel as a place of stay is used by high-ranking politicians of the German government. The hotel has a very long tradition and certainly lives from its myth. The rooms are good, the hotel area chic. The breakfast is very good, I recommend the cheesecake. Due to the high-ranking politicians and heads of state, this hotel has a certain charm.

The dining experience was the best I ever experienced, The dining room staff are professional, kind and attentive. I am not giving 5 stars because when we checked in no one offered to help with our luggage even though they offered that to others, would say they are a bit colour preferential (we are from Nigeria) but that might have been a one off.

We celebrated our anniversary at the hotel. Which is two nights and we really enjoyed. The room was great, the hotel location is perfect, the pool is great, the breakfast is good ..
Too bad the service was disappointing!
Examples -
For two days we were never able to get an answer from anyone on the phone at the hotel. Once I went down to the reception myself to see why we were not answered, and I was surprised to see one of the facts playing on the phone .. She of course answered me politely.
2. The rudeness of the lifeguards talking for twenty minutes loudly on either side of the pool as if there were no guests.
3. The level of waiters is divided between the few experienced and good ones and most of the waiters who sometimes left us speechless (continuing to walk while talking to us), and the inaccuracy (twice wrong in the order we gave).
4. Check-in is slow, tedious, and in the end we did not receive the relevant information.

I hope these are just temporary difficulties back to work while in the corona and that it will be fixed soon.
The potential of the hotel is amazing!

The King David hotel is a luxurious hotel in Jerusalem with beautiful views and wonderful rooms. The only condition is the service. The people there don't know what they're doing. Especially the people working in the restaurants. It took me 15 minutes just to get a small dessert from the stand they had.
