King and Prince Golf and Tennis Resort Review

Really disappointed with the waiter whom served us today. Not only did we wait for about 20 minutes for our drink order, but when he finally came to our table only to report your bar wasn t serving the drink we ordered. Pathetic service.

Booked this for a romantic Anniversary get away and they put us on the 2nd floor right beside the pool! Really!!! And they either need to update their website of renovate the resort, not that empress with what we have seen so far.

Easy to find, parking was free and the venue was perfect for our holiday party!

Bad management. Being over run with pet. Most of the dogs we saw were not service dogs. Children running around pool and hot tub area with no supervision. Made it impossible to enjoy those amenities. No management present. When we made our reservation we asked if there was a no pet area because my wife is allergic. They said the ocean front rooms were pet free so we made our reservation. When we checked in our room had a foul odor in the carpet from dogs. They gave us another room which was next door to a room with a dog. Management said it was a service animal. It had nothing identifying it as a service animal. In fact all the dogs , and there were many, had no identification showing they were service animals.. The pillows on my bed smelled like dogs. If you're looking for an over priced resort that caters to dogs and unsupervised children this is your place
UPDATE: managements response is not quite accurate. The pet in the room next to me was not a service animal. It did not have any identification. Plus service dogs don't sniff other people's legs like this one did. Look the point is the reservation desk did not answer our questions honestly when we made our reservation. If their policies are to not verify if pets are truly service animals that's their choice they should just be honest about it.

The room was very clean and beautiful. Check in was fast and easy, and the young lady at the front desk was great..The hotels restaurant "Echo" was amazing, and two days that we dined there we were blessed to be served by a young lady named Makenzie.She was amazing, will definitely be returning.

Lovely hotel with amazing staff! The views here are phenomenal and both their restaurant and bar are superb! Would recommend to anyone coming to St Simon's!

I understand with COVID going on things are different and more complicated for the staff but just a warning to anyone considering to stay do not take the shuttle anywhere. They do NOT have a good method for picking people up and my husband and I waited an hour and a half at the golf course for a ride and upon complaints we received nothing but too bad for you, hopefully that won t happen again. Very frustrating so just a warning to anyone considering to stay!

It's my second time here. I am coming back this summer. Great place all around. The staff,the people that live ,work and visit this area are down to earth, happy and make you feel like home.

Our family just returned from an amazing trip to St. Simons Island, GA. Being from Charleston, SC it was such an easy drive for us. We stayed at the King and Prince Resort and we had the best time ever.

Besides the amazing food, location, and sunsets, they are a dog friendly hotel. That is such an important thing for us, the dogs are part of our family so being able to enjoy the beach and resort with them was the best.

The resort had so many amenities, accommodating staff and did I mention the Sunsets! If your looking for an awesome family friendly resort, look no further than The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort!

Oceanfront room was beautiful! Friendly staff as well.

Don t book your hotel stay through Booking.com call directly to the hotel.... ask lots questions about the property and where you be staying and do you a view of the ocean so on so forth.....
Love it, but hotel had to get and give a better room for Us because of the original booking hotel room was small and not accommodating and did not have an ocean view.... did not take pictures because we did not stay long we were very disappointed with original booking but The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort at St.Simons Fixed all our problems gave us nice Villa to stay in, it had awesome view comfortable space. We will definitely come back and stay again. We love their outstanding customer services.

We checked in and got to our 3 bedroom villa. Our youngest child went to check out the view from our balcony and was stung by a wasp, as there were a number on BOTH of the 2 balconies. Then the a/c was not blowing and cooling through out the 3 bedroom villa efficiently and the maintenance man came and changed the filter and it was disgusting and looked as if it had not been changed in over a year! Later, we had one bath and it took the tub 20minutes to drain and the maintenance man came back and removed a LARGE wad of gunk and hair from the tub!! Later the air still wasn't blowing well so we got up to check the vents and saw black mold EVERYWHERE- every vent!! We even took a cover off thinking surely it was just dust or mildew on the surface but mold was all within the duct!! We even took a couple of pictures it was so bad... We were finally able to move at 10pm with 3 children who had still not eaten dinner... we were told however we could not stay there beyond the morning and that they'd have us an alternate villa the next day... the next morning we called to check on our move we were told we had to make and were told they completely full and our only option was to GO BACK TO THE MOLD INFESTED ROOM!!! It was awful! We explained that this wasn't an option for our own health and safety, primarily for our children. They said there was nothing else and they were sorry... later they did come back to say they had 2 rooms with double beds at their Stay 2 Home hotel further inland and several miles from the beach if we wanted to stay there... To be fair they did allow us to use there pool for the reminder of our scheduled stay... This is the only reason I gave them a second star... We were originally scheduled for Thursday night through Saturday night. Thankfully, we were able to find outside accommodations that were still close to the beach. We are it was a true vacation NIGHTMARE and complete lack of customer service on behalf of King and Prince and we had previously stayed there multiple times. Very unfortunate. I will say, however the bellman, Deon was FIRST CLASS!!!

Omg! Best beach experience I've ever had in my 31 years of living! The beach and island area were so historic and amazing! The staff at the hotel all were nice!!!! The rooms were exceptionally clean and well kept! The atmosphere was very laid back, and no judgment on what anybody was wearing as their swimwear. Please do yourself a favor and stay at King and Prince. It's an experience you'll never forget and you'll wanna keep going back!

Spent 3 nights at this resort earlier this month and it was a great stay! We paid for an upgrade to the oceanfront cabana, which was worth the price. The beach views, calm ocean and ability to watch the sunset on our patio were highlights of the trip! The hotel restaurant was exceptional, not only because every meal we enjoyed had a variety of options and was flavorful but also because the prices were so reasonable for an oceanfront resort! The entire island and resort were a lot more laid back and calm than other touristy coastal front towns in the southeast, but that may in part due to it being early March. I'd imagine there's a bit more traffic during high seasons, but either way, we'll definitely be back! Highly recommended

Great place to start, right on the ocean. Very comfortable and clean rooms. I stayed there for about a week. The hotel bar was great, loved the room service and the reception desk was very friendly. There are music and song events near the bar area in the evening and the restaurant facing the ocean is mind blowing. The evening atmosphere is great with people dancing and drinking. Highly recommend place for staying at the Saint Simon Island.

Dinner is moderate to high price in terms of food selection, such as market priced items (e.g. steak). Drinks are variable, but relative to what's accessible in neighboring restaurants.

Anyways fresh and creative dishes at ECHO. The ocean view is priceless and always a breeze on the verandah.

We had such a good time at King and Princess. The room was absolutely Beautiful and the food was awesome. Our view of the ocean was Beautiful. I can't wait for us to go back.

To start we are a family of 6, 4 under 5
And our room never got clean. Because of covid. The bathrooms in the Oglethorpe building were hot, and humid. They don t have a ac systems in the bathroom so the only place it works is in the actual room. The drainage in our room to be specific 602 didn t drain right. We had to call for refills of coffee towels etc. the whole point of a family like us to go vacation is to not be thinking about those things specially cleaning a room with little babies. They were really nice in accommodating a late check out one hour later for my baby go keep sleeping in. The staff was friendly and nice!

Room is nice, but there needs to be a USB adapter to plug in your phone.

Food was pricey but well made.

First off, the hotel was nice, the room was nice, but the beds weren't clean. The Televisions were outdated and malfunctioning. They give you instructions on what to tell the housekeeping staff in Spanish because none of them speak any English what so ever.

We stayed on our honeymoon and if wasn't for the fact that we traveled to Florida everyday it would have been pretty craptastic thanks to this resort. Especially due to the fact that on the last day our vehicle was broken into on the resort property and the staff did nothing but laugh and say "Yea there were multiple vehicles broken into last night" when I asked if they got anything on camera they were nice enough to inform me that they had none. Which I thought was pretty bad considering on our way to the resort we stayed at a $45 a night hotel that had cameras all over its property and where it did not, it placed signs to notify you that you park in those spots at your own risk. They had no such notice, and no such security cameras. They had nothing but inept management and security guards who failed to provide even the simplest information to the local police to help stop or catch the robber other than calling the police the next morning, after witnessing it that night, and telling them "it was just some white guy"

Our stay in Saint Simons was pretty nice, we liked the beaches even though we went down to Florida a lot just because their beaches were a bit nicer and we went to the Jacksonville Zoo, but as for this resort I would not recommend it to anyone. We started our marriage out getting robbed of cash, souvenirs ( they even broke one snowglobe and left it smashed in the front seat ) and a GPS. It could have been worse, but it should have been better.

The people that work there were super kind and welcoming! Beautiful place to stay indeed!

You can never go wrong at the King and Prince. Great service at the bar and an atmosphere that is unmatched in the region. Expensive, but in this case you get what you pay for.

I was pretty disappointed given the price of our room.
Pros: comfortable bed, right on the beach, near restaurants/shops.
Cons: front desk staff wore masks under nose/chin, server substituted food item without confirmation and seemed shocked it was a problem, no cappuccinos even though it was on the menu, no pool service, intermittent outdoor service, charged different price for happy hour beverage than printed price on menu,, loud music playing late at night at pool, not all pools heated, bed too high to get into easily, housekeeping knocking on door 2 hours before check out and 2 days prior insisted on coming in to hand deliver toiletries when we asked for them to be left at door.
I responded to their survey and I received a response which didn't really addresss the issues mentioned here or in my survey response.
All that being said, if you keep expectations low, I think you could enjoy your time here.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The grounds are nice and well kept. Within walking distance to some amazing restaurants.

I haven't been a guest in years but it was fine then. Still probably is, I suppose. The public beach access does everything it should.

Very well operated property. Not very modern but clean, great food and right on the best part of the beach.

Is a great resort, rooms smell a little musty in the historic building but can't beat the great beach location!

We enjoyed bottomless mimosas on the patio of the restaurant that overlooked the beach. We were impressed by aesthetics and accommodations of the resort. We are looking forward to scheduling a stay here in the future.

My wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary at The King and Prince, it was a great weekend. The resort is clean and the beds are comfortable. We also had a couples massage which was absolutely amazing. The views are fantastic, the pools are nice and the recently remodeled Echo restaurant and bar has amazing food with outstanding service in a cozy environment. I highly recommend that you book your stay today!

Was here for a wedding. The room was very roomy and airy. Was on the second floor facing the court yard.

So... COVID happened... We wanted to do something for our 30th anniversary. We were leaning toward a cruise or foreign travel, but COVID happened... I started looking and figured we'd give these folks a shot. WISE DECISION! Book your getaway here and do your best to get a Cabana room. It'll be worth it! Hope to visit them every year going forward.
Side note: DO NOT subject yourselves to the service (or lack thereof) at the onsite restaurant. In your brain, separate the two entities and you'll LOVE THIS PLACE!

Wow; REALLY nice! My wife and I kept saying 'fancy'! I'm a simple guy but if I'm going to spend money on something, I want it to be nice. This fit that to a "T"; great place to stay and relax.

Expensive for me, but worth it for a big occasion (spouse birthday). Some mix-ups about rooms, but all worked out. Hotel has good location, good atmosphere, good food.

My husband and I vacationed here the first week of December 2020. The resort was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our room was very nice and comfortable. The only downside was on the second day there we had to request a room change because of sugar ants all in our room. My husband had a slice of cake in a container and it was covered in ants. There didn't seem to be many other guests around so it was an easy change three doors away but a slight inconvenience. The room had a patio with an awesome view of the ocean. It was cold so we didn't really use it but the view was beautiful! I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again. Hopefully we can return when the weather is warm.

Overall nice experience. Great places to enjoy the ocean/beach views. Nice fire pits. Beautiful interior. Deducted one star for the noisy TV's they set up for football games and noisy live entertainment on Friday.

Maybe tomorrow will be better. Other than being "out" of the most basic breakfast items(biscuits, strawberries, omelets{?}), they are ridiculously slow to get to your room with housekeeping. The main pool was laden with dead bugs leading me to believe that the filter was not operational. Otherwise, it's a beautiful historic hotel. The staff are nice and helpful. But, out of omelets? How is that even possible when my biscuits with gravy, substitute a croissant because they're out of biscuits, came with a side of EGGS?
Wait, my wife just told me they were out of banana daiquiris too. At a pool bar. Hmmm. Doesn't that break some sort of law?
