The program is supposed to designed for all the school aged students as they advertised. The kindergartner who is a beginner without any experience with chess is not encouraged to take this course at school. The kindergartner has to play with older kids with better understanding. Very poor curriculum design for younger students. If you want your kids learn somethings in the class, forget it. You have to learn how to play chess yourself and teach them yourself. Let the kids to enroll this course from 2nd grade with the basic skills could be a better choice.
My son loves kid chess! The online program that they put into place after schools closed kept him practicing and challenging other players.
Our son loves Kid Chess! His chess game has improved greatly in a very short time, and the additional benefits of focus skills and developing play strategies are excellent to see. We appreciate Kid Chess being offered as an after school club program.
Don't waste your money on Kid Chess. We simply hoped for our son to learn the basics, as he is young, but each week he came home with nothing new to show us on the chess board. Very disappointed.
This is an absolutely wonderful program. My son participated throughout elementary school & now his younger sister is also enrolled. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I only wish it was available for middle school kids. :-)
Totally not worth the time, after kindergarten and in first grade no progress made asked the instructors and the site organizer said no one one was there to provide progress. He told me to come next term why would I enroll in next term without you telling me how much my kid has improved and his results prove it. I talked to the kid and it looks he did not get exposure against older kids and opportunity to succeed it looked like he was pleasing little kids then learning anything
