Went with family today for Halloween, Ursula was a great tour guide and an amazing story teller. Thank you
What a great way to spend an hour exploring the caves. Would definitely recommend
Excellent helpful staff. We arrived in the pouring rain on Bromptons. They allowed us to fold up and park the bikes inside. Highly recommend them for this kindness.
The caverns were interesting to us because they have been excavated by archaeologists and explorers over many years. Rock formations are a highlight, rather than industrial scale mining, like you might find in Wales etc.
The restaurant had vegan/veggie options although slightly on the pricey side.
Warmest cave in Britain? And you can get married there...
Tour took around an hour with a helpful and knowledgable guide. They do request you don't use a camera with flash.
Great attraction to see on a wet cold day. Family friendly.
A real gem close to home, history is closer than you think.
A good tour of an excellent cave. The guides are informative and fun. Ample parking and a great cove round the corner. Perfect for half a day.
Absolutely fascinating. Our guide Amber was very informative, funny and made our trip extra special. The gift shop is small but has a good variety and the prices are very reasonable. There is a cafe and the indulgent hot chocolate is a must.
Great place good day out friendly staff social distancing spot on safe
One of Devons little gems, so much more then I expected, a must if you visit Torquay
I but plants from this place for years. Very good nursery and the owner is brilliant
Great place to visit and the tour guides really know there stuff ..
A great day out! The guide seemed to know his stuff and the staff were very friendly
Excellent tour. Informed and entertaining guide (Alfie) made for a memorable family trip.
We enjoyed the experience - Alan (the tour guide) was very good, he has the perfect voice for it, a lovely manner and some good little jokes along the way.
It would be nice if those with young children could go in first, 5 minutes before the tour started to check the children would be ok with it and get used to it - we took ours thinking they would be alright but unfortunately had to interrupt the first few minutes to get them settled outside as it was a bit too dark for them and didn t want to continue.
The organisation under the current regime was really well sorted which made for a relaxed underground tour.
David, our tour guide, was informative, engaging and entertaining.
In my opinion this is site is a real jewel in Torbays crown.
Brilliant tour by James. Just the right length of time, information and humour. Concrete path all around the caves, definitely push chair friendly. Plenty of free parking on streets nearby (a minutes walk), or paid closer to site.
Great place to visit, guided tours only, best to book in advance
Great visit with witty and interesting tour around spectacular caverns.
Went there with a plan to see the caves. We've ordered a coffee and paid at the bar. After we've got our coffee brought to the table, we've asked for some ice cream. The waiter took the order without any problems. Next minute, some guy runs out to us, telling that 'this is a self service restaurant, and we need to pay for our order and pick it up ourselves at the till, as the waiter has got more important stuff than looking after you two' .... Well, if we were told by the waiter at the time we made the order to come and pay at the till, that would be no problem. But the manager (I guess he was) running out and rudely having a go at us, is unacceptable. Seems like being a customer you deserve the worst treatment for taking up their precious time. So we have half drunk the coffee (not the best) and had some of the ice cream (meant to be with fruits, had a frozen cubes of something colourful in them) and left without seeing the caves. Will never go back. Avoid the restaurant. And if you go, make sure you wash your cups afterwards to not take up any time of the personnel.
Awesome place! Guided tours are interesting and Alan was hilarious but also informative. Well worth a visit on a nice day or if it s raining and.
Really enjoyed todays visit to the Kent Caverns. What an amazing place, full of historical interest. As a disabled person I was allowed to bring my carer in at a highly reduced price but you cant book this online.Parts of the caves were very steep but i managed as there were handrails to grab hold of. Staff very nice, tour guide James was knowledgable and enthusiastic. Well worth a visit.
A good day out for my 6yr old and I, we had a tour guide who was very friendly and knowledgable. Lots of activities for children and a lovely cafe.
A very nice cave.
I really liked the guide
My kids loved this, the tour guide was engaging and funny and involved the kids and the gift shop at the end was not overpriced.
Enjoyed my visit especially the tour learnt a lot about cave life years ago stalactites and stalagmites.
Great place to go, fun for all the family, cave tour guide (David) was brilliant, he gave a fun and interesting tour which both adults and children enjoyed.
The tour of the caves is very informative whilst being enjoyable. The caves are stunning, which photo's can't do justice. The tours are at set times, but whilst you wait there is a great gift shop and cafe/restaurant with brilliant freshly made coffee, I would also highly recommend the cakes!
I like the history part of it but I wouldn't recommend taking young children in buggies down there as a family took theirs and the kid just screamed all the way round, probably scared as it is obviously quite dark, all in all I'm glad I went in and the guide Joe was amazing at his job, five stars for him.
Totally amazing place! Our guide was brilliant, and really brought the place to life! I would totally recommend visiting if you get a chance!
Absolutely amazing. Very educational and thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks Matt for the tour.
Enjoyable tour the guide james very knowledgeable and interesting to know what we have in our country.
Never thought I would enjoy caves so much. The tour and information given was really interesting. The kids loved it but it was a bit hard to decipher what was being asked of them on the kids activity sheet.
Amazing visit to see santa in an unusual location. Gifts from santa great. Meal in restaurant lovely and not massively over priced
Really enjoyable tour and the children loved it too!
A good experience for all the family. A tour takes an hour which is filled with interesting facts about the caves' previous inhabitants (both early man and prehistoric animals). Our guide, Alan, was very knowledgeable with just the right amount of humour to make the delivery entertaining without being over the top.
Very interesting tour, only downside.....a bit short
Last summer, attended first ever viewing of 'The Goonies' in Kents Cavern. Exceptional experience.
Fantastic place, Alan was a wonderful guide making it interesting both for the adults and children
Have had a good afternoon with my girlfriend and her son at Santa's Grotto it was a wonderful time and we had so much fun thank you.
The caves are grand and very enjoyable place to host birthday parties for your kids.
Lovely tour guides and staff! Very informative and interesting
Stop gap, very knowledgeable staff and beautiful caves
Absolutely brilliant day out. A great place for the whole family. The tour guides are very friendly and helpful. They run a small search quest for children around the grounds and in the woods. Lots of fun. Food and drink is available on site as well. Great for kids and adults !!
Had a wondeful experience, would go again definitely
The caves tour is amazing loads of knowledge.
But expensive
Wasn't as good as it used to be but kids still enjoyed it
Caves! Cavemen! Cave bears and hyenas! Great tour guide.
A world UNESCO site, plenty of parking, small restaurant & toilets, caves NOT accessible to disabled/wheelchair users because of formation of caves, caves themselves spectacular!! Rock formations & colours of different rock amazing !! Caves date from Neolithic period and many different finds throughout the caves have added to knowledge of history & age of the caves, GO VISIT!! A hidden gem !!!!
Fantastic tour and so much to learn. Great for the kids on a rainy day.
Cold, dark and wet. Interesting though. A nice cafe at the end.
Well interesting, well worth a trip and tour guide was very good
Excellent place we had an awesome time guide chloe very helpful and knowledgeable great value for money we had cream tea also brilliant so get yourself doen to Torquay little gem thanks guys
What a fantastic place to visit, A must for any trip to Devon. Unbelievable history very hard to even imagine the times when these caves were formed. Our tour guide Derry was very personable and full of knowledge of the caves and its immense history.
Absolutely amazing experience, worth the money and time! Lovely tour hosted by Holly (brilliant guide, btw), very interesting for us as adults than for our 4 years old actually, although the visit was meant for the little one. If you are in the area, go here, you'll definitely enjoy it!
Had a great day at kent cavern james was our hoist and full of very interesting information and humour will recommend to friends and family
Great place to visit with reasonable fees too. Includes a cafe and a hillside adventure which is free and accessed via a public footpath
Great place to know about history
Up on arrival kids where given fairy lights which made theme extremely exited already. For adults we had complementary mulled vine with mince pie which was incredibly tasty.
Tour was about 1h and had lots of interesting info and show. Its quite warm at the cave . It worth time and
Our guide Ursula was brilliant. It was really interesting learning about the history and why it's a Unesco heritage site
Wonderful, ancient place, complemented by Tom, our young and amusing but very knowledgeable tour guide. Good cafe too.
Staff is nice and helpful. The gift shop is really poor.
Very interesting with fantastic knowledgeable guide through the caves.
Good and informative trip with excellent food available
