Super nice hotel. A little old, but everything clean and with a lot of charm. The young team removes the small flaw. The staff are very nice and organize everything. We were allowed to dive and explore the island for a day with a rental car for 40 , etc. In addition, a free shuttle service from the hotel to 3 selected destinations on the island. Really great. We can recommend the pool suite.

Excellent Hotel with great conference facilities and a stunning wellness department (spa, sauna, pool, hammer, massages, etc.). The rooms are very nice, very tastefully furbished and the food is excellent. We are here every year for a conference in March/April. Its still quite cold then, but the island has so much to offer. Must be an excellent place in summer, however a little off the beaten track. No beach close by and you have to be transferred from Malta by Taxi and Ferry (and another Taxi) to get here. But if you are looking for a quite place and relaxation, this is the place to be!

The hotel is remote. I planned to go by bus, but it would have taken an hour from Gozo ferry terminal. So I rented a car, which took about 20 minute from the ferry terminal.

The Kempinski in Malta is one of the cheapest ones globally. In Winter times, it just costs 100 per day, which is about a third of the usual rate for a Kempinski hotel.

The rooms were quiet disappointing, as they were dated. The views can be good, if they face the swimming pool; while the rooms not facing it can have a disappointing view to the car park.

The service, food and facilities are fantastic. This is really what has set the hotel apart from other hotels in Malta. The staff is extremely helpful. Breakfast is presented beautifully, and the quality is superb. Quiet contrary to my expectations, the food within the restaurant was the best food I ate in Malta. The ingredients were fresh and tasty.

Close to the hotel is the Azure Window, which has spectacular sunsets. Be aware not to go too closely to the sea, as quiet a number of tourists have drowned in this area.

Overall, the staff members made the difference. They were able to make the stay exceptionally relaxing and pleasant.

Highly recommend! The hotel is good both for holidays and business. There are several restaurants offering delicious food. Practically all rooms face the pool. It is a bit far away from the nearby village/town but is well connected by bus and taxi. It is good for families with kids as well. I can share just one disadvantage - it takes 4 hours to get to the airport and you need to mind the ferry schedule. Still with some planning one can make it work.

The room was quite large, included bath, shower and also a well sized terrace. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. It has 3 outside pools and 1 inside pool, which were quite large and not too much crowded considering we were there in peak season. The breakfast was fantastic. A perfect weekend break, thanks to the hotel and all it's staff.

Stayed here for 3 nights. On arrival there was nobody at reception for about 20mins only a "lady dressed in a red dress" (who worked there-I still don't get the concept) who could not check us in! Anyway rooms are quite dated. Pools were nice. Location is isolated for people that are booking for the beach. Had a delicious steak and beautiful local red wine. Had an excellent omelette each morning, freshly prepared. One evening we went for drinks after dinner (at about 8.30pm) and waited at the bar area for about 30 mins and met another couple who were waiting too. We asked for service but no one came

The hotel, spa and grounds are beautiful. There are 3 outdoor pools with poolside drink service. The hotel itself is very luxurious and stunning. They even grow their own veg in a plot on site. There was nothing negative that could be said of the setting. Drinks and food were expensive though, probably to be expected in such surroundings.

5 Star Superior Service

5 Star Superior Service

Spent 2 nights with my family for our 10 year anniversary and wanted to make an occassion out of it. The hotel, thanks mainly to Deryk Sacco and Damian Olma, helped organise a perfect intimate event for us. They upgraded us to the deluxe junior suite which was huge including a magnificent terrace and beautiful bathroom. Breakfast was delicious. Plenty of options on display including additional items from the menu included in the price. We also dined in at the Ortolan Restaurant on one evening and the food there was amazing. A kids menu was also available for our daughter. Taking the current covid_19 situation, all precautionary measures were being taken and adhered to by all staff members. Cleanliness of the room and hotel in general was up to scratch. Restaurant servers, both at breakfast and dinner were very professional and courteous. Couldn't have asked for a better service. Thank you Kempinski San Lawrenz.

We enjoyed our stay in San Lawrenz for a whole week. The staff was very attentive and kind. The food (breakfast, Trattoria, buffet) was excellent. Housekeeping was very friendly and we appreciated the complementary water bottle every evening.
Our room was spacious, clean and modern.

Our Lady in Red (Tamara) was helpful with getting around. She wrote a personal welcome message, which was highly appreciated.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were kept in perfect conditions as well as the pools and spas. The food was perfect with reasonable prices for a hotel of this caliber. Would love to stay here again and definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Gozo.

The Kempinski is advertised like a 5stars hotel with luxury spa and diving resort: the Hammam, the steam room, the main indoor poor, the Jacuzzi and relaxation area pool were not operating and the diving centre is not existing at all, there was only a kiosk called "diving corner" which was closed as well (when I asked about it they used the excuse of the Covid...all the diving centres on the island are operating!)...this is false advertisement! I booked through the phone but they didn't specify that most of the services where not working.
Only Spa and Ayurveda's treatments where available for an extra charge.
The accomodation is ok, the bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is really nice, but the rest of the room Is very far from being "luxury"...the light on our balcony was not working and when we pointed it out (2 times) they promised to fix it but they never did it in four days. On Sunday morning we have been woken up at about 7:30am by loud music from the breakfast area (our room was above), we asked to reduce the volume but after it was still high...
If you park in the underground parking there is no lift even in presence of different levels.
The outdoor pools are beautiful but the overall building is very far from being a luxury 5star resort compared to with the world wide average.

Could have been better. The Gala dinner was not worth the money spend.. no taste at all. For breakfast a request for some porridge cooked in boiling water as I am lactose intolerant was not entertained although I asked 3 different waiters and inspite of the fact that i always bring my own lactose free milk. What a poor service!!!

Location really fantastic, cared for in every detail enhanced by a staff as young and enthusiastic as professional and friendly yet discreet. Very nice and ample the SPA and excellent massages. Pleasantly surprised by the welcome received: prosecco and chocolate strawberries on the occasion of our anniversary! Impeccable cleanliness, refined breakfast and something for everyone. Refined and genuine cuisine. Absolutely recommendable!

Wow!

Wow!
From the moment you walk in to the moment you return back to your home you will be impressed by this place.
Multiple pools over various levels and grounds. Gorgeous layout and stunning rooms.
The reception staff speak multiple languages and nothing was too much trouble.
We had an incredible stay here and the only reason you got 5 stars despite the awful taxi problems we had when checking out at 5am, because they were not the hotels fault. The taxi company driver didn't wake up!
Thanks and will be back!

Nice hotel complex and the best hotel in Gozo.

Nice hotel complex and the best hotel in Gozo.

First of all, we had a very nice holiday at the Kempinski San Lawrenz and we will definitely be back. Nevertheless, it has to be said that the Kempinski San Lawrenz still has a lot of room for improvement.

In an objective comparison with other Kempinski hotels, especially with those in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the Kempinski San Lawrenz does not meet the usual standard.

The homepage says bsw. "... the junior suites ...... and have recently been completely renovated". The rooms are undoubtedly beautiful and of a high standard in terms of wear and tear, but the attached photos say more than words. This is otherwise not known from Kempinski houses.

Also annoying, the covers of the chairs on our balcony were so dirty that I had to try the "Lady in Red", who had the covers replaced immediately. This is also where the Kempinski San Lawrenz is good, in terms of service. You really have to praise that. Always happy, always trying, always quick and accurate. Housekeeping is particularly important. You can actually give it 5 stars. Very thorough cleaning of the rooms. Very attentive. You never see them, but the room is always perfect.
The gastro service staff, on the other hand, is very young / junior and makes corresponding efforts. However, very numerous.

What was really unpleasant, the hammam was unfortunately completely closed (in the high season, 08/2017). However, there was and is nothing about that on the homepage. It's a shame, we would have loved to use it.

We used and enjoyed the spa including Ayurveda treatments a lot. Treatments are great. That should also be the case with the prices. Here and there, however, the spa should be renovated.

The gym is small. The devices are older, but neat and clean.

If you disregard two days of a company incentive trip with around 50 cans of beer drinking and noisy figures jostling at the breakfast buffet in flip-flops and shorts, the Kempinski San Lawrenz is a nice, quiet luxury hotel that we would like to visit again will.

Conclusion:
Best hotel in Gozo, but with light and shadow. Far below the standard known from Kempinski in DACH. Something has to be done on the furniture and rooms (see photos). Service great. Gastro good. We'll be back - despite the shade.

The best. We loved every minute. Excellent service, excellent food. All staff treated us with silver service. Outside and indoor pool very enjoyable. Espescially for the children at pool area.
I would suggest a small outdoor play area( swings / slide) for the kids. Somewhere close to Gazebo Restuarant.

A beautiful piece of earth. The complex leaves nothing to be desired, the service is overwhelming. There doesn't seem to be a "no" here, each of the countless employees tries to make everything possible. We would love to come back and will be pampered here again. Thank you
