Most upscale hotel I have stayed in and a great value considering the location and particularly relative to the competition. Roomy rooms. Tub and separate large shower. Very comfortable bed. Superb breakfast.

The best 5 star hotel we have ever stayed in. Extremely clean, amazing service, friendly multi-lingual staff and perfect location! The whole experience, although for one night, was unforgettable. And as well it's great value for the offered price.

Spent 2 nights here.
The hotel is very centrally located and in a beautiful building. The decor is very loving and there is even a small garden where you can relax.
Unfortunately, the service is not really 5 * (example: the cleaning is done very late in the afternoon and very superficial, so that there are crumbs everywhere). We didn't use the breakfast, partly because of the price.
The spa area is very nice, the gym is clearly laid out and basically only offers cardio machines.
Conclusion: The price-performance ratio is unfortunately not that good here, we will probably not recommend it to others.

Lovely Hotel, nice atmosphere. Rooms was nice and we had a garden view. Beds were fantastic as was the layout service in the evening. Breakfast was excellent, extensive and of very good quality. We found a downside that the hospitality on the terrace was somewhat cool. There is a clear difference whether you are sitting on the terrace or attending lunch or dinner. Sometimes we had to wait a long time while employees were walking around on the terrace next door. Furthermore, had a wonderful time in Bruges.

What a privilege to come for a vacation in this splendid hotel (building dating from the 15th century).

The place is majestic and very slightly off-center from a main artery (100 meters)

So all the advantages without the disadvantages (noise pollution for example)

The welcome is courteous but remains a little impersonal. I think it would be desirable to remedy that. And thank you for offering the various paid or free services of the establishment. This would prevent us from searching unnecessarily.

But this remains anecdotal. We were still not badly received. Far from there.

We had booked a suite. It turns out that this one in addition to being huge (70m2), overlooked the magnificent garden behind the hotel. In addition, the bathroom was large and very clean as was the rest of my room.
A bottle of champagne and some delicacies were offered to us as we were celebrating our 6 years of marriage.

Thank you for this delicate attention.

The bedding was awesome. A huge bed where we could have slept 4 or 5 without problem and absolute comfort.

Breakfast is served in a large, chic and refined room. And the breakfast of very, very high quality. A real happiness and the perfect service.

A main shopping artery is 100 meters from the hotel and the main square within 300 meters. Attention to the price of the parking (25eur / day) .... but the parking is secure and under the hotel.

Either way, you won't need your vehicle at all. Everything is done on foot.

Restaurants and shops are multitudes around the establishment.
You will be delighted.

Perfect starting point for a family getaway or a romantic getaway in the Venice of the North and the name is not misused.

To be favored of course in spring or summer. Heat required

Stayed here for 5 days. The staff are pleasant enough and the rooms are large and spacious. Beware though that the lower floor rooms have a view of a shabby roof which could be easily fixed with some green screening. We did ask to change but we were shown a room a couple of floors above that still overlooked the same roof but had no bath. There is no milk provided just creamer and the towels are thin and have threads hanging from them. In the hallway there are some shabby areas where wallpaper has been scrapped. The rooms are nicely decorated at the standard of Hilton or similar chain hotel. The breakfast was disappointing with no table service apart from coffee so the hot offering was over cooked eggs and if you wanted sausage and bacon it came on a bed of omelette type egg served in a bowl. The pastries and coffee were lovely though. A warning that the restaurant and bar are very over priced. We had croque monsieur in the bar and it was served in a bowel with no attempt to make it look nice with side salad or crisps. We had the restaurant booked and were prepared for high prices but we left when we were told that if we wanted water we had to have bottled. Personally I think this is a rip off and if you are going to charge such high prices why do you need to be so petty about serving tap water. There are some lovely restaurants in Brugge and we found Couvert which is lovely. In summary, this hotel does not live up to its five star superior rating and there are better four star hotels locally where you will get better value for money.

1. excellent location. Really close to the town centre.
2. the hotel room is outdated. There was a door lock issue - the card keys would not work. This was extremely inconvenient. Also there was an issue with air conditioning, which we had to ask to be fixed
3. overall management was good

A memorable stay at the Duke's Palace five years ago made me want to come back. An unmatched experience in Bruges, this beautiful, preserved city is a heaven I'll come back to on a yearly basis. What was a Kempinski back then is today the Duke's Palace.

Welcoming very courteous personal floors smiling and discreet. room very good but lacking little things .. little attention in the evening: chocolate on the bedside table. Perfect bathroom. Complete and excellent breakfast. Magnificent establishment in general only downside: the hammam bad smells very present in the hammam I think it would be necessary to put a little essential oil there would be Bcp more pleasant than to smell the perspiration, for a 5 it's limited and not worthy of a palace lacking shower gel in the showers of the spa too, room at the exit of the hammam a little too fresh for my taste.
Finally, I would just say that the parking rate is a bit high

Disappointed in the service: no sign "Do not disturb" present. TV broken. Outdated rooms in Abbey section. Wake up at 9.30 am by housekeeping despite the fact that they know you are checking out that morning. Very little info received in general. Same feeling with our friends. We felt chased away.

The stay at Dukes was very pleasant. Everybody was committed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The room was spacious and very quite facing the nicely designed garden. Next time we travel to Bruges we will definitely choose the Duke again.

An actual 15th century castle. We arrived late in the evening and ended up with a free room upgrade. Not only was I sleeping in a castle I had a room upgrade. I was starting to feel like a princess. The breakfast at the hotel was nothing short of royal. There was an entire wall of fire oven baked pastries and breads, chunks of Belgium chocolate, meats and cheese and so much more. As for me (now celiac and gluten free,) they offered fresh baked gluten free bread and pancakes. I would defiantly recommend staying at Dukes Palace to enhance the Bruges experience.
Dukes Palace is located in the middle of old Bruges, Everything is walking distance. We were pampered there by the helpful staff, amazing food and historical beauty inside and outside the hotel castle.

It really is a palace! Our suite was gorgeous. The common areas looked like a museum, but were very comfortable - especially the courtyard. The staff was extremely helpful in every way possible. I doubt one can find a bad location in Brugge, but this one worked very well for us. Highly recommended.

Duke s Palace is very much overrated and my recent stay at the hotel very much underwhelming. The hotel is at the end of a narrow alley and has the frontage of a large European townhouse. There is a turret that is supposed to provide the feel of a palace, but instead feels like a Disney Land prop.

The Superior Room, which they show online as having a queen size bed, in reality had two twin size beds pushed together, made up separately. The WiFi in my room was spotty with kept dropping my connection. My room overlooked a parking lot / industrial roof. The room was too cold and the temperature controls did not work well. I found crumbs on the carpet when I first entered the room. The service was also cold. All in all nothing about the experience was romantic or even good.

Duke s Palace claims, on their website, the Evian water they offer as evidence of the high quality of their hotel. I say it is hoighty toighty nonsense. A free bottle of water is offered in most luxury hotels across the world and there are arguably higher quality brands than Evian.

Hotel Dukes s Palace likes to market themselves as the only 5 star hotel in Bruges but don t let the old world star system, which offers very little transparency, fool you; trust the review ratings from real travelers. Several other luxury boutique hotels are rated higher by your fellow travelers on Google, Yelp, Trip Advisor, boutiquehotel.me, etc. For example, Hotel Heritage - Relais & Chateaux, another palace style hotel in Bruges, which I previously stayed at and truly enjoyed, is closer to the main town square and is rated higher everywhere online.

To be fair, normally I d rate the overall experience 2 stars, but in this case Duke s Palace set the expectations high and failed to deliver on expectations, so minus one star for not setting the right expectations.
