If you are looking for a Real Estate Company to sell your home I would STRONGLY advise you to not choose Keller Williams of Mclean, VA, or The Belt Team, who is associated with them. I would specifically like to mention the following people at Keller who led to our demise. Tom Hanton who was initially our realtor, Terry Belt, who is the CEO of the Belt team, and Ron Cathell who is the lead broker for Keller Williams of Mclean.
At first, Tom Hanton was very communicative prior to us signing the agreement to sell our home. Tom checked all the boxes that one would look for in an agent. Boy, were we wrong!! After signing an agreement with Tom he was very difficult to reach, and when he finally did get back to us with an answer to our questions it was typically with a very short text reply. Ultimately, because of Tom s failure to include important details in the contract of our home with the buyers, we ended up with exorbitant legal, and other, expenses, all out of our own pocket.
During the process, Keller did remove Tom as our agent and replaced him with Terry Belt who ended up being no help whatsoever. When this became a legal matter Keller completely abandoned us in our efforts to resolve the contractual situation, which they created by lack of attention to detail in the contract with the buyer. Our Contract eventually fell through, and we had to hire a lawyer and compensate the buyers because they threatened a lawsuit against us. So far we have incurred over 35K in legal bills including pay-off money to the buyers.
And, of course we also lost time. Our house initially went on the market in March and now it is now almost July. Our attorney worked diligently with the Keller William s attorney hoping to come to some financial relief for us. That did not happen. As a matter of fact, Keller s last words to us as of yesterday was: We are releasing you from the contract that we have with you to sell your home . They refused to help us and sent us on our way. We received absolutely no consideration, compassion, or compensation from Keller Williams. They hid behind their lawyer and left it to us to pay our lawyer to help resolve the situation.
We are now left to sell our vacant home and have been told we must spend more money to stage the house etc. Sellers beware, they do not have your best interests at hand and are to be avoided at all costs.
We had the displeasure of working with Chau Onay on a property we were selling. The agent clearly has zero experience in real estate and completely wasted our time. We met every one of her outrageous demands. She continuously made the selling process a nightmare and has no professionalism whatsoever. She attempted to engage in conversation with us during an inspection that we or my agent had any clue that she was going to be present. Upon reviewing her real estate bio it showed that she has 0 sales in her career and we just found out why. I highly suggest you run in the other direction if this woman contacts you or has a client put in an offer. Trust me, you ll be wasting your time. Keller Williams, I seriously hope you reevaluate your team and make some adjustments because she does not bode well for your brand.
I cannot tell you how disgusted I am with the agent working at this office. CHAU ONAY represented a buyer that was trying to buy my home here in Fairfax. Chau was unprofessional from the beginning. After the home inspection was done, her demands were vague and confusing. In an effort to move forward we agreed to have a structural engineer inspect the home. However, this engineering company recommended by Keller Williams was a complete joke. The engineering firm sent out a person who refused to identify herself except by a first name, she was not an engineer, she had no identification or business cards and she had zero credentials or qualifications. She was only able to give us the website to the engineering firm that she supposedly worked for. The results from the engineer were equally vague and they wanted upwards of $30K for repairs that they couldn t even describe or disclose. In the process of all of this we lost the contract to sell the home. I cannot stress this enough, stay away from this agent!
Broker was Partial to her own personal Customer & Rude. No fair representation on the side of an outside Customer (me). Can't recommend this one.
