Katie Bard Review

Katie Bard are very professional, however they failed to find work for me both times I enquired about temporary work. I initially had Serena who was very nice, and kept me up to date with vacancies but in the end I found something with another agency. When i came back to Katie bard after my 7 month contract finished, I was assigned to another consultant, who has not been in touch with me and has failed to inform me about any positions. There are better agencies who have found me work much quicker (within a week of signing up).

I cannot recommend Katie Bard enough - and I haven t stopped recommending them to my family and friends since I signed up!

Matt and Sharan were my consultants, both of whom took the time to find out exactly what it was I was looking for in my career, as well as taking the time to get to know me properly. Throughout my whole experience with Katie Bard, they always kept in touch and only ever approached me with jobs that actually met what I was looking for (I ve found other agencies try and shoehorn you into unsuitable roles).

Adding to this, Matt and Sharan are both friendly, professional and honest people, and it was genuinely so nice to have them as my consultants and hear their voices over the phone! I can also say this about the wider Katie Bard team, their work ethic and dedication to their candidates is both impressive and reassuring as a candidate.

I had struggled for a while to find work, both temporary and permanent before signing up with Katie Bard. I now have a wide variety of experiences with some fantastic companies, and I m in a permanent position with a global company that I ve wanted to be at for years!

I was looking for a new job to gain more experience in an office working environment and applied to katie bard through reed. They seemed really professional at first and was always contacting me with potential positions. I sort of kept this on the side whilst applying for other jobs which I was unsuccessful at but I was with this agency for 4 months where they were constantly getting my hopes up to then find out weeks after the job has been filled or isn't going anymore. This was continuous with the company I found myself applying for a position through pertemps and got a job on the day! This agency is appalling and definitely wouldn't recommend.

Definitely one of the best agencies in Birmingham. I was advised to use them through a friend. They have been very proactive and responsive with with regards to roles. I have dealt with Verity and Ruth for the last 6 months and they are always keen to help and super friendly. it is clear they understand what you are looking for and give you constructive advise, and that they have genuinely good relationships with many of the big companies in the city.

Waste of time, registered online, heard nothing, so I called and they said I hadn't been registered for some reason so they said to email my CV and someone will get back to me but heard nothing back! emailed and called again and was told someone would get in touch! still NOTHING!

I've been temping with Katie Bard now for nearly six years. They keep me in constant work and offer a good hourly rate. They are friendly, understanding and helpful. If you choose not to go through with an assignment, they don't write you off. They offer you something else. The other thing that I like is that they don't have a constant stream of consultants. They are a lovely bunch and I often go to the Temp of the Year Awards which is held each summer. I am hoping to get an award next year.

I registered with Katie Bard at the beginning of November 2018 and had an interview with both Lucy and Matthew as i was looking for either temporary or permanent role. They were both very friendly and helpful and actually was interested in putting me first and not just as a potential candidate. They were interested in getting to know me and what i am looking for.

The day after registering they contacted me about a new permanent role and secured me an interview for 3 days later, they secured me a couple more interviews shortly after all in less than a month.

I have now secured a temporary role, and i will definitely be using Katie Bard in the future. I have also informed my friends and family as i know how helpful they are in securing new roles and are informative. They truly put the individual first! As a recent graduate, I had a mixed view on recruiters and employment agencies from previous interactions with other entities. Katie Bard were exceptional and proved to be extremely helpful.

The worst website I have ever seen! You can only put your details in once and then it keeps making you register again and again.
Also I called 2 -3 and everytime they said somebody will get back to you, and nobody ever did. Very bad customer service! Do not reccomend this company at all.

Someone recommend Katie Bard to me following my graduation in summer. I quickly signed up to them and received a speedy response. Following a brief discussion about my goals, aspirations and what I was currently looking for I was invited for a face to face meeting to further discuss my position. I have spent the last 9 months working with Katie Bard, and I have always been super impressed by their efficiency and general service.

When I first signed up I had an initial interview where I talked through my CV/experience and described what sort of work I was hoping to get. I then got a call later that same day with my first job offer! When you sign up you are also assigned a consultant who is your port of call for issues or questions. My consultant (Daisy) was super lovely from day 1 - in the early stages of my time working she checked up on me regularly to make sure I was doing well, and if I encountered any problems she was very helpful at solving them.

There were periods when work was a bit thin on the ground, but the communication between the agency and myself was always good. The service felt very personal, and I got the feeling that my consultant and the other employees at the agency were always doing their best to help me.

Katie Bard excelled my expectations of a recruitment agency. From first contacting them, they were keen to help me and offer any support in finding work. The process was easy and they dedicated a lot of time and effort into myself and finding what was the best fit for me. Kathryn O'Connell and Lucy Williams conducted a two hour interview to find my strengths and interests in job roles, and they both contacted me with positions that perfectly fit my preferences. Wasted my time with fake job advertised for a permanent role which clearly didn't exist. Even when I mentioned it twice, they said nothing. There was a typing test which I was left alone in a room to do and no one explained it to me (a notice they had up says they should explain it to you because even when you read through the instructions it still doesn't tell you what's going on). Insulted me and under-estimated my worth as a tactic to manipulate me into taking on temp work, so a lot of wasted effort for two young women who didn't look like they were any more experienced than me.

Amazing company Matt was so helpful and found me some great oppurtunites. Would definitely recommend and go back to them in future!

Fantastic experience with Katie Bard.

When you first contact them they'll get you to come in for a quick "interview". I say Interview it's more of a conversation to see about your experience, your expectations and what they can do for you.

I met with them in December 2016, by January 2017 they put me forward for an interview for a temp position (which was what I was looking for). After getting the role they helped me every step of the way, and after temping with them for over 17 months I can happily say that as an agency they went above and beyond my expectations at almost every stage.

I couldn't recommend this agency enough, the personal touch and professional zeal that they have showed repeatedly helps make up for the poor experience that I've had with other agencies in the past.

As I was told can't help to find employment even temporary, obviously 15 years plus experience counts for nothing as it wasn't yesterday! Talk about being thrown on the scrap heap. People have lives, children etc and sometimes take a long break from types of work, it doesn't mean they are not employable as this agency implies.

I would thoroughly recommend Katie Bard for both temporary and permanent roles. I was given two consultants one for temporary work and another to focus on a permanent position. Kathryn who dealt with the temporary work was on the ball from the beginning, after the first meeting she immediately found me temporary work which started on a 2 week contract which extended through to 10 weeks. Kam was my permanent consultant who would regularly call me and update me on the job market in Birmingham and found me several interviews for the positions that I asked for, one of which I signed the contract for in November. The team are professional, approachable, friendly and are very good at placing candidates in their desired role.

Great agency! Met with Matt who was extremely thorough when he met me on my hunt for temporary work. He has spoken to me about multiple exciting roles! I met with Kathryn and Matt - both of whom spent a long time getting to know me, talking about my experiences and what I was looking to do and shortly afterwards Matt contacted me with a temping opportunity. I secured permanent work shortly after so did not need to continue with them but I wouldn't hesitate to return in the future and would definitely recommend them to anyone. You are not just a "number" to Katie Bard.

When looking for a role, they were in frequent contact with new opportunities which was absolutely great. Even when I was successful in getting a role, they were so helpful and supportive during my time and even came out to check on us to ensure all was going well.

Not worth the time. Applied for a position through reed.co.uk and was called in to register at the agency. They asked me questions about my cv and what I was looking for (seemed OK I thought).
They then made me take a SPELLING test and typing test. I am a Law graduate, it was degrading.
I then spoke to a consultant who talked about temp jobs and went through the arduous task of filling in time sheets and all that.

Contacted them regarding the original role I applied for and no response to any emails. Waste of my time. I would definitely not recommend them at all.

I applied direct to another employer and within a week I had an interview and offered a full time position the next day!

Main exercise of this agency is to harvest as much personal details and your shortcomings as possible via their 'registration' process which also involves an interview and some archaic 'test' for typing speed. They advertise a 'job', you take holiday time off your current job and you don't even meet an employer! One might question the existence of such "jobs" they advertised on CV Library or Indeed to begin with, who knows?

They only seem to want to offer temp contracts, mainly basic admin jobs. You are employed by them via a supplied timesheet, so a percentage of your salary always goes to them. (I'd be happy with just a referral fee like most other agents.) All further telephone calls you make to them are stonewalled as they don't really deal with challenging CVs, which you would think is not beyond an expert employment agency's capabilities.

Heck, if I had all top grades and a string of amazing careers, why would I need to use an agency to begin with? Avoid like the plague.

Katie Bard were a brilliant and supportive agency during my time with them. I'd previously been freelancing with a different agency and decided that I wanted to find a long-term position, so turned to them for help. To be honest, by the time I had my first meeting at their offices, I was in a rut from job hunting.

The enthusiastic staff I dealt with, Lucy, Matt and Verity, got me out of my rut and found me a fantastic position - I'm nearly a month into it and feel like this is a much better fit for me than any other roles I'd applied for on my own!

I have been signed up with Katie Bard for about a year now and I have been in work the entire time. The consultants at Katie Bard are all very friendly and easy to talk to, making you feel comfortable right from the start. I mainly dealt with Kam, Lucy and Kathryn who were all brilliant! As well as being a candidate, I have also experienced being an employee at Katie Bard, having worked a temp assignment in their Birmingham office. Working in the Katie Bard office opened my eyes to how this agency works. They are a tight knit office who work around the clock to get the best for their candidates and their clients. I have recently moved back to Birmingham and found temporary work with Katie Bard. Whilst using other recruitment agencies alongside Katie Bard, it quickly became apparent that this agency is different to most others and truly cares about and listens to candidates.

I had three assignments with this agency. Two temporary and one which turned into permanent work.
This agency and all the consultants were very personal, welcoming and caring. You can tell they want to match you to the roles right for you; and unlike other agencies you don t become just another number. Definitely recommend even if it may take a bit longer to find work than other agencies.

You can apply to anything any entry level job that needs little experience and they still won't give you a response. Who the hell is running this. How can the people, who are working there, live themselves. They really do just want your details.

Katie Bard have helped me get back on my feet after 18 months of struggling to find work. Matt, Kam, Sharan and Verity have all been amazing, trying to find a new opportunity every day, even landing me with 3 job interviews in a week! They're all incredibly kind and helpful and I am so grateful for their assistance.
