Very beautiful, very polite. I can't say enough good things from the pro shop to the Marshall.

Great quality foods and service and views are outstanding. First breakfast after arriving always here
The most accommodating staff and pro shop, and the starters are the nicest I've ever seen. The views alone are worth the price, but even for a high handicapper, the course is very playable from the silver tees. Wide open and areas to lay up and/or bail out.
Impressive golf course. The pro shop is very good. To play golf bear in mind that it is a championship court, difficult and quite expensive
This was one of the best golf experiences I ve ever had. If this course is on your bucket list, be sure to check it off. The views here are something you will never forget, I found myself with my phone out trying to take pictures just about to every hole. The course was in great shape, as I m sure it always is, the greens were fairly quick and difficult to read but I loved the challenge. The staff was very friendly, always thanking you for coming out and seeing what they could do to make your experience better. Yes, the course is pricey but it s all worth it when you stand on that first tee box, and it will only become more worth it with the following holes. I ve played the Bay course as well and it too has good views and it is well kept, but do your self a favor and if you have the opportunity to play here, spend the extra money and do it. Bring your own clubs if you can, you d hate to play a course of this caliber and not have your own equipment.
We have been too this course 3 times during our stay in and had a wonderful experience. This time we were very disappointed with the guy that keeps the group moving. I will do an updated post with his name. We felt awful, because are here for our Anniversary with our Dad, this person made it very uncomfortable the whole way...constantly saying speed up...slow down..we felt like we were 5. We are business owners and felt like the 1400 we spent was a waste. Definitely speak up as this is too much money to spend with a door guy mentality attitude towards people that are spending a lot of money. Very embarrassing for them with such a good reputation
I could not play because I was under construction, but I really enjoyed watching the course I only saw on the pga tour broadcast. The wind is cool.
What a great and beautiful golf course the best known home of the PGA tour champions golf tournament
Absolutely incredible. The Kapalua Plantation Course is a breathtaking experience for any golf fan. The course is kept in immaculate shape along with the driving range and putting greens. Every hole gives you a new and incredible view of the water and neighboring islands. Absolutely 0 complaints and I pray I can play again here someday.
Halloooo, this is a nice golf course ... highly recommended ... (I'm a golf fan). Will again time the golf tour begins again ... I'm looking forward ..... Mfg.manuela
Put this course on your bucket list. Now. The first and second shots of #18 are the most memorable in my 50 years of golf. (Hit a solid, low draw down the right side of #18 tee shot, and it will be the longest of your life.) I've had 3 moments in my life where I was overwhelmed by a sense of smallness and being attached to a planet spinning through the universe. Walking down #18 gave me that feeling. (Total solar eclipse and camping in the Alps with full moon were the others.) Playing golf down the side of a volcano and viewing Molokai on the horizon. In the middle of the Pacific Ocean. We are beyond golf here. This is a sacred place.
Awesome course. Unbelievable views. Bring your A game.
Beautiful spot. Love the plantation house for happy hour drinks and sunset. Sensei also great for sushi and late-night discounts
Great course with spectacular views. I'm from the Midwest, and I thought the green fees are fair based on the quality of the course and location. Spotted a humpback whale from the 12th tee while there.
Kapalua Resort: Kapalua's Plantation course is one of the top-rated and finest championship layouts in the Hawaiian Islands. Built around the natural wonders of the West Maui Mountains, awe-inspiring views, dramatic elevation changes and rolling terrain accompany you throughout. Definitely a course that will challenge your all-round game, and well worth going out of your way to play.
This a devastating disaster of an Extremely overpriced garbage golf course. The scenery SUCKED THE COURSE SUCKS AND SHOULD BE PRICED AT $69.00 A ROUND I TOOK MY CAMAER AND TOOK ZERO PICS .
MY PARTER WAS A BIT UPSET WITH MY OBVIOUS ANGER BUT PRETTY MUCH AGREED WITH MY THIS COURSE IS A VACATION RUINER
Incredible golf course & conditions...hard to believe they replaced ALL the sod & greens since last year's tournament. Hilly as hell tho
Humiliating experience. We took a wrong turn on a hiking trail and ended up on the course. We asked at the clubhouse for directions back to the trail and were no more than five minutes on our way when one of the employees - Kevin - stopped us and insisted we turn around. "This is a high-class resort and you two are improperly dressed. Turn back now and go around on the road." (We were hiking, so... I guess we weren't wearing the signature Ralph Lauren polo shirt required to be on the property.) We asked if we could just continue until we connected to the trail, but he became rude and belligerent and sent us to the road, forcing us to walk an hour out of our way to reconnect. Ruined our day.
In an alternative universe where this isn't the snobbiest resort on the island, the employee would have asked us if we were lost then offered us a quick ride in the cart to get back to our trail. We would have apologized, thanked him, and been on our way. But we didn't seem to fit the demographic that is catered to at the resort, so we were treated poorly.
Great customer service. Some of the best I have had. Course was in the process of getting ready for the Tournament Of Champions so it was cart path only. Not ideal on such a hilly terrain but overall very enjoyable. Always enjoy my visits.
Great experience from the first tee to the 19th hole. It s not a course I would play regularly but every now. Course was in great condition from tee to green. A few views of the ocean, not as many as you would think. My biggest issue was the number of blind tee shots. Hit your drive and your ball disappears over the hill. Don t mind this, but it s like 6/7 holes, gets annoying. One other item, check the wind forecast. It can get brutally windy. It s definitely a bucket list course you should play at least once. Aloha
Good lunch offering in a very scenic environment with view from the mountain to the bay. Friendly staff and great deserts are nice extra's!
Beautiful course, great restaurant a must see while out
Sailed there and then played there. Like playing in golf heaven.
Great service from the restaurant for our large group
What a beautiful place to begin with and there was a magnificent golf course as well. It was fun, it was difficult and it was playable. Well worth the money considering it is a one time trip for most. I would play it again if the opportunity is there.
The course is awesome. The views are out of this world. The golf shop is expensive, but hey your in Hawaii. Overall the course condition in good. There were some bad spots in the fairways, and the greens were damaged in some areas, but they were being address.
If your bringing your clubs, play here its so worth it. And bring a camera
Awesome food ..its our must stop when ever we go to Maui
Restraint is AMAZING!!! I loved it, it's about to be renovated, which it needs, then 6 stars!
Challenging course with amazing views. Whale watching while in season. The staff are courteous and professional. Club and shoe rental available and good quality.
Just love this place. Always a pleasure to go there
Almost had to give the plantation course a 1 star due to the treatment I received. Thanks only to the general manager Mike Jones for righting the wrong, I am able to say I was a happy customer and will return to Kapalua in the future!
Obviously the plantation course at Kapalua is one of the most beautiful courses you will ever see and could get 5 stars just based off of that. I was pretty upset and disgusted that I could be at such a prestigious course, and be treated the way I was by one of the pro-shop employees.
After spending thousands of dollars to travel and stay at Kapalua, then another couple hundred to play a course that was on my "bucket-list" of courses to play, I was treated like a complete joke by a pro-shop employee. I was so angry that I told myself I would never come back.
Luckily I was able to talk to the general manager Mike Jones and he made sure that as a customer, I was completely satisfied. I went from being treated like I played some small, public community course, to being treated like I played the world class course that it is. a HUGE thank you again to Mike and I can't wait to come back to play again in the future.
View is great, obviously the physical building is beautiful, but service was not good and the food was just ok.
This course was awesome. Some of the best views I've ever seen on any course I've ever played, and I've been fortunate to play some scenic ones. Best views are mostly on the front nine, and on 18. Very interesting course. All the holes were unique and challenging without being gimmicky. Tons of elevation change means your tee shots may end up way further than you think if you catch the slopes further down some of the fairways. You need to make sure to put your tee shot high side of the fairways because it will run all the way down to the low side and these fairways will certainly run. There are also hidden waste areas of tall grass that are not obvious if you've never played there before, so I might ask the starter or one of the pros about this before you play. The wind was pretty intense when we played, it was pretty punishing at times and then at other holes seem to have no effect. The greens were actually quite slow, much slower than I was anticipating although I'm sure when the tour players come through they are much faster. I was really surprised by all the blind tee shots. I would say most of the tee shots on the front nine are blind which is challenging but just a unique feature of the course. We did get rained on intermittently throughout the round, I think that's typical Hawaii weather but just something to be aware of, the rain would last 5 minutes and then it would be sunny again (we played in mid November). And then I would say the front and back have a different feel to them, the front is mostly coastal views and undulating fairways, The back nine is more inland, feels a little more straightforward and easier but I found it harder to score on. Overall this was an amazing course and one I will never forget.
Extremely slow play, disinterested staff, over priced experience.
Great golf but when you get on the greens everything breaks toward the ocean.
It was my dream to play were the pros play. I did it on my birthday, 6th November
It's one of the most beautiful golf courses you'll ever play. A big spot for the PGA tournament and just a fantastic golf course. Won't ever forget the 18th hole.
We very much enjoyed the Sentry Tournament of Champions!
Legendary course.Really tough from the Black Tournament Tees.Big fairways and greens but play for a lot of break. Add four clubs into wind.Bucket list experience! Go.
A real beauty but shutting down for an 8 month rehab, cant wait to see the improved course.
Golf course completely under reconstruction. So no golf here. But still a beautiful island. Plantation House is still great for brunch, dinner, cocktails, wine list, service and views - just not of a beautiful home course until December.
Played the Plantation Course first time ever (bucket list). I am a 1 handicap player. The course is as beautiful as you can imagine. However, what a let down when I show up, pay a decent amount of money only to find out at the first tee that due to the pro tournament (PGA), we had to play cart path only. On top of that, you hit a perfect shot and find the middle of the fairway however, is roped off for the pros and we had to drop on the rough. Then, no way to know distances because the fairways have no yardage markers (sprinklers or 100, 150, 200 yrd fairway marker) and you walked 30 to 50 yards away from your cart where the GPS is located due to cart path only rule. I guess our money is not valuable. Simple solution have been to let you know before you pay and arrive at the first tee that you will be walking and that the center of the fairways were ropped off thus not allowed to play from the middle of the fairway. Second, provide a range finder so that you don't guess yardage and fly greens or come up short. This was a frustration that my group shared and we did not know each other until the day of tee off. Save your money, play the Bay Course. Just as nice, great shape and great service. The people at the Plantation Course also exuded great service. Just disappointed that I experienced this awsome course the way I did and the money I spent. I hope the next few weeks the course does something to help the first time bucket list players enjoy their rounds. Provide a range finder and full disclosure of the conditions they will be paying in.
Played the course and it was well kept, enjoyed drinks and food at the clubhouse thoroughly. Main reason I m writing this though is the super friendly and attentive staff. I called the golf shop looking for my new MacBook charger, and was desperate because I was flying to the big island and it was a rare & expensive charger.
Cole, the golf pro who answered walked himself down to the cart shack to look for the charger, then went to the extent of looking for everyone working the day I played, called me back and said they d continue looking. Just way beyond any customer service expected; incredible.
I ended up locating the charger but appreciate the effort because most places would put your name down and likely never call you again. to Cole and Plantation team.

Love this course. Love the people who work there. (Susan and Sarah on the food cart especially). Even though it was cart path only, which makes for a long day, I couldn't imagine not playing there.
Bucket-list track. Played early so we avoided the mid-day heat. The greens rolled true and the grain was a huge factor. Loved every hole. Can't wait to play again.
fantastic views greens are tough but after you figure out the cut on the grass great course was in great shape
