Kaiser is stocked with dr s who finished school 3-5 years ago. They seem to follows a flow chart that I suspect they receive from a department that maximizes both revenue and the number of visits to their clinic. When in doubt, they refer you to another useless blame shifter who does nothing. Always take notes, always get an outside opinion, and have your records reviewed by a qualified, independent medical and legal team. They only do arbitration, but it is possible to pursue recourse through the California Medical Board, the Board of Registered Nurses and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. I ve been having chronic headaches for months now and my doctor recently ordered a referral for an MRI. The next two days I was told someone was trying to contact me to schedule this but couldn t get in contact with me but I received 0 emails or phone calls about any such thing since the referral. I had no way of responding to those messages and could not get a hold of someone who could help me when I called the number they told me to call.

I submitted a grievance about this and someone wonderful helped scheduled the MRI for me.

All seemed well until I double check my upcoming MRI appointment time and no longer see any appointment. The appointment was cancelled with no notification via email, phone, anything to me. For all I know, something could be seriously wrong with me that the MRI could find but I m having a hell and a half of a time even getting an appointment that doesn t just disappear.

I submitted another grievance about it but it s baffling that an appointment can just vanish with no warning. This isn t a restaurant, it s healthcare - you don t do that.

I also was referred for mental health therapy back in December and I have never received a call about this. I brought it up with my doctor and she kindly referred again two months ago and still 0 contact from mental health.

I ve been chronically ill most of my life and have been through many health systems. I have a lot of patience and respect, but At this point I can quite frankly say Kaiser is the worst healthcare system I have ever been in and I am assuredly switching insurance as soon as I can. This is some bootleg healthcare.

Pitiful pitiful pitiful. I called 4 times in a row to speak to a nurse in the 7th floor ICU. I was transferred from the hospital operator named Jeff to the ICU. It rang at least 50 times before I hung up each time. I finally called back and was transferred to the nursing supervisor or bed control. Some clerk answered after 15 rings and when I told her I wanted to speak with the ICU and that no one would answer, she replied that they are short staffed. When I replied that #1 it isn't the nurses job to answer the phone, it is the secretary's job, and #2 why are they short staffed, she replied that everyone is burned out. This is the reason that I will be cancelling my Kaiser insurance and moving my relative out of the ICU at Kaiser Oakland. If they can even be bothered to answer the phone in the ICU, what kind of care are they providing my family member? Likely very poor care.

This kaiser Permanente is clean, well organized, and the staff and medical employees are knowledgeable and helpful. The Admitting process is straight forward, and the nurses and doctors are friendly while giving good guidance before after and during a procedure.

Great staff clean facilities ! Had two healthy births from the birthing center and the nurses were great ! The first time there was a strike going on against the psychiatry Dep and if you ve been to it you know Kaiser ! You need to do better for real! But even those replacement nurses from other hospitals were well informed and helpful and funny tho Kaiser clearly does different then most normal education suggests. all the things I may feel About Kaiser as a whole aside I still appreciate the amazing experiences I had in this specific department here at the center pre and post Cov. You guys know you could offers birthing tubs tho! Haha

Come here you pretty much dead. Untrained unprofessional everywhere. They can t even get the phone directory correct and you want them to open up your spleen. Smh. Level up.

I had my lumbar fusion surgery here and never have I felt such gratitude to to the entire staff that took care of me. From the nurses to the surgeons they made me feel positive going into surgery and treated me with such care postop. From the people bringing me meals to the nurses applying my medication. Thank you so much to Kaiser Oakland care for making this stressful and scary moment a bit easier. It will remain in my heart.

We were very impressed with our 3 day stay at Kaiser Oakland. Our son needed brain surgery and our team in Roseville asked if we would consider having the surgery in Oakland, we agreed with a bit of anxiety....especially after reading reviews about parking and with Covid we weren t certain we could both stay in with our son. I ll preface this review with the acknowledgment that I am not a fan of Kaiser but I do want to share with anybody coming here that we have had nothing but 1st class treatment here. The doctors, nurses, and complete staff were very professional, cordial - very human. There was never any confusion here like we find in Roseville - things played out exactly how it was explained. Parking was easy I don t understand why the negative parking reviews - just park in the garage and walk out and right into the hospital. Check-in was easy. Again, it is Covid time so not as busy here but even with more of a crowd I think they would operate smoothly.
Close by are very good places to eat. Donas Mexican food (very good) one block away, Brenda s just a few blocks (a must!) Drakes garage another good eat but would drive there, pass on Starbucks here and go across the street to the other Kaiser building to Jamaica Bay coffee (food is 10 fold better that Starbucks).
We found all the peeps in this area very friendly, and to repeat the complete staff here at Oakland Kaiser very friendly - they enjoy their work.
Whether you live here or are coming from out of town rest assured your visit I would think/hope would be as calm and comforting as ours.
