Excellent restaurant, amazing views, service and attention to detail is unsurpassed. Professional, confident and engaging staff which enhances your total dining experience. Delightful menu. The most in-depth and gratifying Wine List you will find anywhere in the world. I would seriously highly recommend Jonah s Whale Beach to anyone who values a sensational dinning experience.

We had our wedding here this past Wednesday. This place is amazing! the views are stunning, the food is delicious and the accommodation immaculate. All of the staff go above and beyond to help and provide everything you could ever ask for. We couldn't recommend Jonah's more highly!
Booked a group for dinner and they gave no choice but to have a set menu. Despite promises of emailing the set menu days before the booking it never came through. They forgot one of the mains. More suited to a couple per table then a group of friends I would not visit again
From the moment we stepped into Jonah's Restaurant we were blown away by the outstanding customer service, the perfect views and the delicious food and wines, it was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary!
Returned to Jonah's after two years, and were blown away by the lift in cuisine. Service impeccable as always, but the quality and creativity of the kitchen hax improved from very good to 'great'.
Great atmosphere and views to be found at Jonah's! Much attention to each course is given with just the right balance and flavour. We had the veal milanesa and wild flounder as mains, neither disappointed. The risotto and gnocchi were well cooked and the presentation for everything was beautiful! Service was wonderful, would go back again!
A Calamity of Errors After dining at Jonah s last night, I have to say there was only two good things about this place. The view and the potato bread. Being a vegetarian who does not love cheese I asked if there was anything without it and was presented with a Vegan menu. Perfect! Entre comes, it fine not amazing but I am here celebrating with family. Main comes, it the wrong risotto it has exactly the same flavors I have just eaten and my side of peas has pancetta in it. Immediately I tell the lady who delivered the food. She says to me it is vegetarian my response That s pork and also not what I ordered . She takes it away and the rest of my table eat. About 5 mins later our server comes back and asks if I would like another glass of wine. Sure I know I am going to be waiting 10-15 while they recook my correct meal. But the lady I am sitting with has been waiting 15 mins for her glass of wine so I point that out as well. To cap it off a bowl of peas is brought out to me 10 mins before my risotto .. just minted peas .. not sure what I was meant to do with them, perhaps nibble on them while I waited for my main. Dessert I pass on, and again coffee is forgotten for one man at our table. The food was ok by our tables standard, but wow the service was lacking. Go for the view and drink and pop down to the boatshed for a meal and save yourself the $800+ we spent.
Overrated and overpriced, in my opinion. I don t mind paying more but the price differential must match the experience differential. This did not. The lovely view was probably the best part. The food was mediocre-to-just-okay. The spa services were sub-par. There s room for improvement here.
Unbelievable food and service Magic environment In the difficult world the environment and food gave the two of us enjoyment. We both this year have lost love one's.
I would have preferred to have given no stars...My wife and I went for a coffee and cake in the summer with our newborn baby. It was a very hot day and we were stuck in traffic for two hours.
Although we went in opening hours, we were refused to be seated in the bar as they were setting up for a wedding.
My wife explained that we had been in the car for two hours and our newborn needed to be breastfed. We asked if there was a quiet place to have just a glass of water and feed our baby.
The receptionist said no, you can feed the baby in the car. My wife, almost in tears said but it too hot! The receptionist then said well you can feed the baby in the female toilets.
My wife was in tears. We still cannot believe the way we were treated and that it is part of the Relais and Chateaux hotels group.
Unwilling to swap shell fish from set menu in spite of allergy. Not very accommodating, therefore cancelled dinner. I'm sure the food is lovely but the suggestion of serving the scallop on a separate plate so I can eat the food that comes with it and give the scallop to my partner is laughable for a high-end restaurant.
The breathtaking view, the moon shining on the sea, the relaxed atmosphere, the blankets draped over us by attentive staff as it became cooler on the balcony : made a convivial happy familiarity with other guests; and then there was the food. Excellent in all areas with beautiful wine for my wife as recommended by the sommelier. Sophisticated yet warm and friendly. Prices as expected for this whole experience but very good value for money. I wholeheartedly agree with others that Jonah's is one of the top restaurants in Sydney and a showcase to the world.
The location of Jonas is utter perfection. Even on a bad weather day the view is sensational. Sadly, I feel this restaurant relies too much on their view and hasn't spent enough time on making their food great. For the entree I had the prawns and the main the John Dory. Unfortunatly both dishes were overcooked and disappointing. The espresso martini, which I love, also needs a bit of work. I'm sure I'll give this place another go in the future and really hope I enjoy it next time.
The food was great as expected but what really made this an outstanding experience was the fantastic service. As someone who works in hospitality I take my hat off to this amazing team. Thanks for a special night!
Nice views, nice food, nice place for a function but strictly limited parking and in a residential street so neighbours frown at you for just being there. Many restrictions but still nice.
Jonahs is a beautiful spot tucked away into the quiet streets of whale beach, with ample parking Jonah's is east to find. The quality of service and food were above expectations with knowledgeable and tentative staff leading the way. Jonahs comes highly recommended and it's not hard to see why.
very over priced staff were very good, food &drinks where also over priced. we went there for our 43 anniversary big event for us but was hardly acknowledged. food was 1st class 5 stars. breakfast on the last morning the bacon & toast was burnt. will not go there again.
Having booked in January 2017 and paid a deposit, for a 2 night stay and xmas dinner, over xmas 2017, we had to cancel this booking in September 2017 due to ill health and family matters. The management of Jonah's restaurant and Boutique kindly returned our deposit for which we were very thankful. Perhaps we will be able to visit at some time, just to show our appreciation in their generous cancellation and return deposit - this in its self deserves and 10/10.
Regretably the long awaited seaplane deluxe package was anticlimactic. The journey to and from Jonah's was tiring....after the seaplane and boat ride we were left waiting directionless and had to call to find out where our transfer was. Waited so long for our drinks which made the rest of our lunch feel rushed. The food was ordinary - quite bland. Not sure if they are still hatted
Amazing view, great food and wine. The only reason I gave it one star less is because of the amount of time between the entree and the main. Normally that doesn't bother me so much but at this level of restaurant I expect a more fluid service
Making a booking for breakfast was a quest from hell. It almost made us not to go at all. But we've received it as a gift and obce we arrived, everything was perfect. Food was great and excellent service too. Oh, and the view!!
Lovely boutique hotel situated on top of Whale Beach with great views. The food was ok according to the price you pay. We ended up sitting somewhere towards the back and not being able to see the view while we're eating. So I'd definitely suggest ask for a table with a view. Otherwise with the food being ok, it is not worth going there.
Simply awesome staff, food, wine cellar, views and venue. It's obvious the meals are prepared with maximum love, do try their home made gnocchi as a starter, the wine selection is second to none. We will return!
On arrival we were welcomed by the fantastic reception staff and shown around this beautiful boutique hotel. The view is spectacular and the recently refurbished rooms are stunning with all the best modern technologies you could ask for. We had a degustation dinner with matched wines in the restaurant. The food was fantastic (some dishes were out of this world!) and the matched wines were perfectly selected. The Sommelier was amazing. The time he took with us made for a great experience. The breakfast we had the next morning was also really lovely. Great food, coffee and juices.
Visited for a work event, where we used a conference room. The staff were super attentive and the food was great, but really nothing could beat the views!
I usually don t write reviews but I had to share the Best Restaurant Best Chefs Best Waiters I have experienced for a long time. Amazing fresh food with generous portions made with love & passion served by passionate honest stylish experienced down to earth waiters! A day filled with perfect weather & wonderful memories I had at Jonah s! Can t wait to come back & stay! Happiness & Sunshine Nuggett McCabe
My husband and I stayed at Jonah s Boutique Hotel for a night. They were genuinely welcoming. Everything was impeccably clean and the view was spectacular. Dinner at Jonah s Restaurant was fantastic as well. Highly recommended for a night away for a couple.
My wife and I had dinner here last night. Perfect finish to a relaxing day in the Northern Beaches. We both had the three courses with matching wine after starting with a cocktail. The portion sizes were generous but the most important thing was the flavour combinations. Hands done the best gnocchi I ve had with duck which was very tasty without being too overpowering. The pork and bug dish was also let to shine without drowning it in sauce. The wines allowed us to try some non mainstream grapes so we ll be looking out for these next time at the bottle shop. Service was attentive and knowledgeable which is what we d expect at a place like this. Thanks for a memorable evening.
