Looking forward to keeping you in the loop on our experience! Renee and I (Nik) went into John Casablanca's and had a wonderful time! We met with Ceonna who greeted us with a big smile, the building was clean and their were photos of other clients hanging on the walls. I had done research prior to going and wasn't bothered. YES they do charge... but what do you expect... life isn't free. Maybe it's more than you want but it doesn't mean they're are scamming you. I can't wait for Renee's path forward to start developing with this agency. This is something she has always wanted and I can't wait for her to come out of the shell that she has been in for years and show the world who she is. Look, for all the people out there, you can decide it's a scam and walk away, but the fact is they do get people into this industry. For us, as of right now. VERY HAPPY! Can't wait for her to start in September. Thank you John Casablanca's for this opportunity in her life.

John Casablancas is a great place to start if you are an aspiring model. The staff is friendly and amazing. They teach you professionalism, skills needed to become a model, and follow through with their word in regards to booking you jobs. I graduated JC and a month or so later I was called for my first go-see, and was hired for my first professional modeling job and photoshoot. Modeling and Acting have become a deep rooted passion of mine in a very short amount of time. I enrolled in the classes at John Casablancas in September of last year (2012) with little to no experience in modeling or acting. The instructors and staff have been nothing but amazing during my time there. The classes will not only teach you the ins and outs of fashion and photography, but also how to find, and utilize untapped confidence and potential you never knew were there. The jobs that I have gotten have been done without hesitation, because what I learned from the classes were directly applied to the jobs. I recommend these classes to anyone that is even mildly interested in either fields.

I can't say enough good things about John Casablancas. My sons modeling & acting career has sky rocketed over the last 4 years giving him so many wonderful opportunities at only 9 years old. John Casablancas is not only an agency of amazing supportive people,they have become more like family. My son is always greeted by name and always made to feel welcome. Experience was honesty so amazing. Stacy was so nice and showed us around the place. After a few questions, she explained to us the payment plan (for everything THEY book you, they take 20%) and overall it was a great experience. I can't wait to work with them more in the future

My daughter started at John Casablanca in 2012, at the age of 12 and it has been a great experience for her. She took the classes and gained incredible confidence and composure from the experienced and professional team at JC. She has been promised modeling jobs and paying the monthly fee for almost a year and we haven t had a single call. If you re expecting any jobs from this then dont waste your time.

JC otherwise known as jJohn Casablanca has revolutionized my life as a model and has assisted my personal development as a person. I ve learned a lot about myself through JC modeling classes I ve attended both online and in person. I never attended a full modeling class before. I was nervous I didn t know what to expect. Being young and some what experienced. The modeling class has taught me I knew a little of the puzzle while JC aka john Casablanca has given me the rest of the pieces I need to be a successful model. It started when my agent Marry approached me while I was at a trade show. She liked how I wore my suit. I showed her my experience as a life time model. She saw my potential development. I had pieces of the modeling puzzle but not everything I needed to become the best I could be. John Casablanca has opened up doors for my future. The staff who are like family have been helpful and supportive on my modeling journey. Building confidence, charisma and personality in each of the students. I m happy to be apart of John Casablanca student team of male models. It s worth every dollar, because I ve learned more about myself, self care, speaking confidently and more. John Casablanca has successfully wrote and teaches a handbook for models from beginning to end. That includes walking you through interviews in the real world, what to bring, how to conduct yourself and more. As your going through the course JC assists you on your modeling portfolio. Your modeling portfolio otherwise known as a comp card shows your modeling experiences. Its what you show your clients during casting or interviews. Remind you i m still a student at JC I m still learning. The best thing is staying humble and admitting what you don t know so you can learn. My advice to new model students whether you have modeled or not. Go in willing to learn humbly while getting the most out of your classes. Right now is the time to learn. Like nike says Just Do It . John Casablanca s CT is GREAT Agency. I have been working with Tina for 5 years now, and she has been steady in my corner developing, branding and taking my career to new heights. I took the Commercial Acting program a couple of years ago and have been working on building my resume and taking classes ever since. A few weeks ago I booked a commercial that ran locally all over CT during the Superbowl! I really like the continued support and training. I would recommend JC to anyone interested in learning more about becoming an actor and the skills needed to make a career of it. Break a Leg!

I am 28 years young and this is my story:

My cousin who worked for JC at the time invited me down to see her at Foxwoods in the fall of 2015 where JC was having an event where you could get your picture taken and walk in front of four major NYC scouts. I said what the hell why not. I do not see my cousin much being that she is on the other side of my family tree and lives in another state. So with that being said I took the trip down, hung out with her when she had a second to chit chat here and there, got my picture taken and walked the runway, played some poker 0=), then went back to the event as it was wrapping up to hang out.

A few weeks later I received a phone call from John Casablancas and they asked me to show up come in to discuss the possibility of becoming a model and or an actor. The thought of this made me smile so I took the trip over and made the decision to invest in myself to become a model. I took the acting classes afterwards, which I would recommend to help be better rounded. I could not be happier with my decision to have taken this opportunity to be in this profession. There is more to just the modeling and acting classes, a lot of what I learned from both have helped me be a better individual. Everything ranging from my posture, how to eat even healthier than I already am, communication and a sense of style where I have pretty much did a 180 in my wardrobe.

The classes are well instructed. For the modeling class I had a nice mix of talent instruct me on walking, turning, poses, how to apply makeup (yes guys you will have to wear makeup and no it is not as bad as it sounds), and basic exercises to stay fit as well as other practices. Each teacher had a unique taste of what it is to be a model. They will push you to be your best and then some and they will critique you from the moment you step into class until the time you leave. As for the acting classes the main instructor took a summer vacation so again I had a mix of instructors with a vast range of experiences from movies, theater, commercials, voiceovers and then some. We had to memorize three commercials for our final grade which if you put the time in once you get them (weeks one, two and three) by week ten you should have no problem passing.

Do not get me wrong though, it is not all peaches and cream. There is homework given in the classes, you do have to practice, you have to update your pictures that are taken of you every three to six months, and for the parents who are thinking about sending your children here understand that your childs discipline and listening skills will go a long way.

So where am I today? As of right now with not even a year under my belt I have taken part in two opportunities. One playing a background character in a Lifetime movie Amish Witches The True Story of Holmes County (Which premiers October 29th 2016 8/7c) and I took part in a commercial for a health clinic. I have missed some opportunities because I do work another job with limited time off but taking advantage of everyone that I can get a hold of. My best advice is if you have ever even had the thought of becoming ether a model and or an actor, take the time to at least make the phone call and set up a time where you can hear your options. You will be happy enough with that decision alone.

Love this place!!! They've taught me so much. I can't wait to come here every Saturday.

I was very upset and pressured into paying the down-payment of $300. When they called to tell me my daughter was accepted I was told if I didn't pay on the phone right then she would lose her spot. So I paid the 300 and then realized I couldn't afford the weekly payments. I immediately emailed to let them know since I only had 3 days to change my mind and they pressured me so much and kept saying that I had time before classes started. Well by the time they had kept emailing and calling to discuss my daughters training the 3 days had passed and my payment was never refunded. I am a mother to 2 little girls and I lost my job due to covid. This is absurd that this company is keeping parents $300 down-payment when a parent states clear as day that they changed their mind. This place should be shut down. And shame on you taking peoples money just because you know that we as parents have children with potential.

My son has been with JC for almost 2 years . It has been an amazing experience. In that time he has done print work for Bobs Stores, in a book for National Geographic, shot a commercial, and done a promotional video. The staff is always so helpful and polite. With help from Tina and JC staff I am sure that there will be many more opportunities for my son to further his career in modeling/acting. This has been awesome way for my son to build confidence, save money and have fun doing it!!! Thank you JC

I have been a professional model working in New York, Los Angeles, Hamburg and London for the past 6 years. I was founded by JC Models of CT 10 years ago and have been managed by them ever since. Tina Kiniry is an incredible manager with extensive experience in the industry. She has guided my career that has led me to work with large brands including Calvin Klein, Banana Republic, Miu Miu, Hollister and Express. The agents at JC are not only professional but have had extensive experience in the modeling and acting industry. They fully developed me into the model I am today and I am forever grateful for every opportunity they have given me. If you are interested in modeling or acting, this is the best place to start.

Interview for modeling was just a $2k sales pitch. Do not trust these people, they don t care about you, just your money.

I had taken classes here when i was younger and they suddenly shut down wothout a word.i recieved no refund, no representation. It is a total ripoff and scam. This agency will do absolutely nothing for you. I wouldn't waste time or money on it.

This is a good place for kids and teenagers.
The staff is very nice, if you have a child who like to be a model or an actor this is the place for your kids

I absolutely love this agency and i'm so thankful I found it. it's full of very wonderful professional people. Everyone has been so helpful in guiding me trough the process. i went here for a interview and i absolutely loved it i didn't sign up because at the time my parents didn't have all the money .but now we are going back and hopefully they except me again cant wait and love them .

I had received an email about an invite to audition. I have not signed up for anything due to the COVID so when I heard it was through video call I was like eh mine as well. Exciting I rushed home from work , dressed to impress , natural makeup etc all under less than 40 minutes. Where I m from I m well known , respectful , and respected. From the first word the Woman was cruel , Tim was cordial and respectful although. She begins to ask me about my experiences after I responded she began talking through me. Comparing my size, height, and color to Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks(I am dark skin, shorter, hourglass small figure/ big butt sorry tmi). Exclaiming to me and the other people on the video that a real model will never look like me. Every experience I told her I had she degraded and disrespected it. I am loved where I am from and around models I ve worked around, I have never been so disrespected. Constructive criticism is one thing that I do not mind but this woman had something against me as soon as I joined the call with a brightened smile. She looked at me as if she hated my guts. Other women shared the same experiences as me and she congratulated them. As soon as I said it she demanded me to show proof upon acceptance. Then ensured and promised me that I have never worked in anything serious because the way I looked and she bet that I pay random photographers off the street to make a fake portfolio. Not to mention their were kids on there with their parents watching in shock that she was speaking that way, telling everyone who they can and cannot be. The model industry is so diverse nowadays this is not the 60s. I did not get to perform my script that I preparedly memorized nor the dress to impress outfit I wore to model. She didn t even know my name before degrading me. I m sorry she has to represent you guys that way. I noticed on your social media pages that it s actual diverse and outstanding. It s always one clown making the whole facility look like a circus. There s so much colorism while we re trying to come together as a country, one race THE HUMAN RACE. Nowadays so it s a very sensitive topic to neglect. I Wish her well, maybe she was having a bad day. We all have them.

I've been modeling at John Casablancas Ct. for 10 years now and I cannot express enough how much working with Tina has changed my life. Modeling has given me the confidence and the opportunity to meet so many creatives and travel all over the world. Tina makes sure the agencies I meet with are in my best interest. I trust her opinion as she's been in the industry for many years and has built relationships with people in the industry from all over. I am currently in New York with an agency and could not be happier. Tina scouted me at 13 in an amusement park. Because of this, I can both pursue modeling and photography in New York, doing the things I love most. She's impacted my life journey in such a positive way and I could not be any more grateful.

My niece has worked with JC of CT for many years now and I can not say enough amazing things about this company. Great customer service. Legitimate, licensed agency. Great atmosphere.. She went into this with no training or experience and they completely prepared her for auditions, and bookings and built her confidence so much along the way!!

I signed up for this agency 7 or 8 years ago in Rocky Hill CT for some acting classes. The good news is that I finished the classes and got a certificate or whatever saying that I completed it. The bad news is I never actually got more than 1 audition after I finished, heck I never even got a role for a movie or commercial. And when they did call me to come in it was to film something out of state right away, really? Could they not have called me sooner so I could actually plan ahead? I found it odd how they got back to me 5 or 6 months ago asking me if I would be willing to play a baseball player or whatever for this one scene in a commercial being how they never contacted me at all once I stopped going. I was willing to take the part and they said they'd get back to me about it, never heard back from them again. My sister once worked for these people as a hiree(not sure if I'm spelling that right) and quit once she found out that they never promised their talent anything and didn't pay them enough, not even their models either. Then they have you pay all this money just for a photo to post on your collage, as well as to sign up in general. They're nothing but scammers, nothing more and nothing less. Find another agency in NY or something. I just ignore the emails they send me now which I never used to receive from them either.

I am giving this "agency" a 1 star because I don't have an option for a negative star. My son was signed by this fake modeling agency almost 2 years ago. To date they have never sent him out on 1 call. I wish I could put up a picture of my son. He is very handsome and in incredible shape. We will be sending his pictures to another agency. Don't give them any money. They will just rob you too!!!

My youngest daughter started classes at JC when she was 10. I vividly remember (gently) grilling our Admissions Rep as I assumed there was a "catch" or "scam". I was wrong. My daughter's self-confidence went through the roof (quite a gift for a 10 year old). There were never any promises made, just a chance to grow and learn with great support along the way. Sometimes she was right for a part, other times not - no big deal. She landed some paid gigs early on, did some free work for the experience (she always had a good time!) and even appeared as an extra in a Dustin Hoffman/Kathy Bates movie! We can't say enough good about the staff at JC - they are caring, supportive and available when needed.

I have been with John Casablancas CT, for over twenty years. And my son for over six years. Best decision ever! We have had so many great adventures together and individually! We ve done print, commercials, and runway throughout CT, RI and NYC! So many great memories and even better... made great friends! Joining John Casablanca's has been an experience like no other. Although intimidating at first, you learn that JC has a staff that works directly and indirectly with you to help you achieve levels of success. No matter how much you think you know about the acting/modeling world, John Casablanca's will always teach you something new. Their programs helped not only to be successful in the industry, but also in day to day life. Fashion improvements, diction in your voice, and overall confidence, are some of the things I can promise comes from here. Thanks to JC I have walked the runway for an audiences, done print ads for prestigious companies, and acted in all sorts of film productions. I couldn't recommend a better place to start your journey. Even if this isn't your desired career path there's plenty of skills you'll learn to help you in any field of life.

I submitted an application for my daughter and was called back a day later to set up an interview, then I read the reviews and realized A. you need to pay for classes and B. no guarantee you get a job, I also spoke to a mom friend of mine whose son does modeling with some agencies in New York who said not once has she ever had to pay a modeling agency and her son gets booked all the time, only thing is they take a small percentage of the booked gig which every agency does so thats not surprising. I called and asked to cancel my interview and was told the information I had was incorrect and no money was needed (lie since everything here says otherwise) then she stated she would have Stacey give me a call back, i asked for no call back but got a call anyways (which I knew would happen) I was very polite and she was very rude, she stated she has no idea where I got my information from but its wrong and that she would cancel the interview but again I was wrong. Told her I knew my information was correct and for her to have a nice day. only reason I'm writing this review is because of how rude she was on the line. Also for any new people looking to model, there are multiple agencies who again do not require you to pay money for "classes" that are required by this company in order for you to get gigs.

I couldn t think of a better place to begin a career in acting or modeling than JC CT. They give you the tools and mindset to start your journey the right way. The staff is always helpful and kind and they want to see you succeed. Once you get involved with the agency you ll find that everyone wants to see you win! Tina wants to see all of the actors and models who take the process seriously succeed. I am happy I ve joined the agency, I ve booked jobs through the agency, and I will continue to take this career seriously and JC will be right there cheering me along!

I received a recent text advising that JC was scouting for new talent for their company to join this summer. I sent an email with a few pics of my hands since I wanted to participate in hand modeling. JC's website states "John Casablancas Modeling & Acting Agency has a full service staff of fashion and television professionals. We develop and represent our talent in Hand, Leg, and Foot Models." I received a reply back from the President of JC and she stated that I can't do just hand modeling and I would need to also do another form of modeling. I stated, JC's website doesn't state you have to do more than one type of modeling to be considered and she replied, "But, since it represents only a small portion of the work it isn t worth it for us to have someone only do that type of work. Plus, clients prefer a model who also has nice hands so they are capable of doing the rest of the assignment also." I am disappointed with my response and if this is the case then please update your website to inform potential models who are interested in your agency that if you want to be a parts model you also need to do additional modeling to be considered.

Scam. Wanna pay 900+$ for "modeling classes" that your kid doesent need? Go ahead.

THIS IS A TRAP!!! I pay them over 1,000 dollars for them to find me a gig for acting, and nothing happened!! WORST AGENCY PLACE EVER! Rude people with bad attitudes!

My son, Tyler, has had such a wonderful experience with this agency. He recently was called and accepted a role in a TV commercial, and he was thrilled! They are organized, supportive, and extremely knowledgeable in the business. We look forward to more exciting experiences with them!

Over years of looking for people to represent me properly I never met such a response, positive, and safe environment. I m currently working with bookings coming in while taking precaution for this crazy time. They are always so encouraging and to welcoming. They are helping me come into fruition so I couldn t ask for a better team and staff .

Love JC. Tina has an amazing program and a lovely staff. My sons are going through the program and are really enjoying it. They teach life skills and if they get work out of it, it's a bonus.

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM they will make you every promise under the sun then tell you there's a thousand-dollar bill at the end that needs to be paid. Once you pay that nothing will happen, then they tell you you need to enter another program to pay another couple of thousand dollars. Then they tell you they need a down payment for that couple of thousand dollar bill the very next business day. Very dishonest company stay away. In addition their staff has little to zero knowledge about modeling or what's even going on with the company.

Our experience was for self esteem, not the next top model.
Owner stands firm with how the program ran accordingly. When in JC history was week 2 taught in week 13? I had to prove this via a group chat between students. Week 2 was addressed once I brought it to her attention. Or that's breaching a contract. I should have kept quiet., let all 10 families get an explanation. After graduation.
During graduation 2 parents talked about auditions for 2 of the 10 students, that tina the owners asked them to come back for. Why not all students? I find the owner rude.

It's an amazing environment, my daughter loves it so much. She has been trained by John Casablancas, been booked for many paying jobs through John Casablanca. The plus side to all off it that not once has she been let down. Everyone is so positive, motivating, helpful and encouraging. If your looking for an agency that's legitimate and guide you through it all. John Casablanca is the way to go.

My experience was awful and I learned that all they want is your money. They took money from my daughter's account without authorization. I have found an agency that does not require money for anything. If your child or yourself has the look they should not pay money what so ever. Please research before you sign up with this bogus company.

horrible. they tried to charge me for classes to model, instead of informing me on the actual company the first thing they try to do is take your money. this place is a scam REAL agencies don t ask for money, you work for agencies you bring in the money while they take a percentage. they also spam a lot, via email, text or phone calls which is another way to show this place is such a hoax.

i just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to JC Models CT for being so great to work with. My daughter has been with JC for years. She has booked many great jobs and has had a lot of fun. I don't really like to read or write reviews because it is hard to tell what is real and what is not but for me JC is the real deal. Prior to starting at JC I checked out their rating with the BBB and their A rating impressed me so we started and we are glad we did. We like the family atmosphere and can tell they really care about their clients. My daughter really enjoys it there, and the jobs have been great extra money and good confidence building for her too. Highly recommend!

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM they will make you every promise under the sun then tell you there's a thousand-dollar bill at the end that needs to be paid. Once you pay that nothing will happen, then they tell you you need to enter another program to pay another couple of thousand dollars. Then they tell you they need a down payment for that couple of thousand dollar bill the very next business day. Very dishonest company stay away. In addition their staff has little to zero knowledge about modeling or what's even going on with the company.

My 7 year old son graduated from john casablancas in rocky hill about a year ago. He is in the autism spectrum. He truely loves modeling & acting since he has been with this agency he has made a lot of progress in his social skills his teachers have pointed out how excited & proud he is when he has a job. He shares with his peers the experiences & is able to connect with them. I really appreciate the opportunities this agency has offered my child.

I only have wonderful things to say about John Casablancas. My 11 year old daugther graduated from their children's modeling program last year and since then she has a great confidence and self esteem. She has done fashion shows, videos, and also represented the agency at public events. She really loves being part of John Casablancas!!! The staff is also great and very helpful! My daughter is 5 years old she started with John Casablancas when she was 4 years old. She learned all she needed to learn from them. The program is amazing. Since then she has have auditions and another agency that picked her through John Casablancas and 2 jobs. One which got her on TV. My daughter lovess the experience she gained from John Casablancas she is confident and lovesss to be infront of the cameras (which she was never like this before). Everytime i send an email to either Tina or any of the staff its always responded I haven't have any bad service or any bad experience from them. I recommend this place 100%!!!

I would recommend going here if your a first timer like me at least to check it out. Me and my daughter enjoyed it so much. This place is great for acting,modeling even singing I believe. If you are absolutely serious about becoming a model or actress then John Casablanca s is IT!!!! I first started with JC back in 2012. I paid & attended half of the classes and then I stopped half way through because of college and I just wasn t serious at the time. But 5 years later I decided to go back. The staff was so helpful with getting me back on track. So supportive and understanding. What was even more great, is that I didn t have to repay for the classes I already took. I went to Tangers Outlet with my daughter and got a call back for me. I was surprised at first. Unfortunately, I felt so excited for something that wasn't real. They get your hopes up, but then throw a giant price at you in order to make it come true. It's too good to be true. If you happen to have $1100 to take classes, you could potentially get booked and the agency would get 20%. I asked was this the only way and was told yes. I thought this was a real agency and didn t charge prior to getting a client work. I wasted my afternoon.

When I got signed with JC models of Connecticut I was 16 years old and coming from abroad. They have been with me on every step of my career as a model.

This agency is authentic and the best in the area. My two daughters started their modeling classes this spring and finished with high marks. They both enjoyed the classes and loved the experiences. Although none of them has had any paid castings yet, they still love going to the events, like open house, talent search, and agency meetings. I would rather see them participating in the activities hosted with this agency than seeing them holding on an iPad watching movies in bed. If your child loves modeling or acting, send him/her here. They will have a great time. This place is not about becoming a model or a super star, it is a place to enrich a child life.
