I called in while driving home from Akron on a Friday hoping to drop a guitar off to get re-strung. Best case I hoped that it would be done by Monday. After talking to Joe he offered to stay in after hours and re-string the guitar that evening while I was there so that I could have it that night. Couldn't have asked for better customer service. Joe went above and beyond in order to help me out.
I have been to several area music stores and none are as friendly and welcoming as Joe's Music. Great atmosphere, great prices, very friendly, helpful staff
It's a little pricey, but the customer service is excellent, the work is done timely, and a broad array of instruments are sold and maintained.

joe helped me out with purchasing music equipment. he even went to the extent of showing me the store catalog He orders from and allowed me to look through it in order to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. super chill down to earth guy with good musical intentions. He teaches people how to play guitar makes his own guitars and much more. I highly recommend this place friendly environment.
This store has a very small selection of over priced foreign made merchandise. I would highly recommend going on line or elsewhere to purchase your musical needs.
I ve been coming here for years, usually when I m too lazy to restring my guitars. Shop is small but Joe can get you anything you need. Never had an issue and everything is priced fairly.
Joe is my go-to mechanic for any issues with my instruments.

Before Christmas I stopped by looking for a left hand guitar for my son. Joe did not have any in the store, but while I was there he searched the inventory of his suppliers. We were unsuccessful at finding a lefty acoustic guitar for a beginner. This is quite commonplace because lefty guitars aren't as popular (I had looked at other stores too) but I wanted to check just in case he had any because I would prefer to shop local. He chatted with me and educated me on what qualities to look for in a guitar for my son, even when it was clear I would not be buying one from his shop. Joe puts in the time to help people. I ended up ordering one online, but I came back to Joe's Music for guitar lessons for my son. The environment is welcoming and laid back. Joe & Rob the guitar teacher are awesome and encouraging to my 10yr old son, who is learning to play an instrument for the first time. I highly recommend Joe's music to anyone.
Joe's Music is the best. I've had 3 different guitars repaired there and I always get excellent service with a guarantee that if the problem returns it'll be fixed pro-bono (I've never had to go back with an issue because the repairs have been spot on). They have a great selection of equipment for such a small store and great staff to go along with it. I'll always be getting my stuff at Joe's.

Having an amazing store this close to my home has been a really great fortune. I go to joes music for everything from band supplies to repairs on my guitar. The owner is a very friendly person and has very good skills when it comes to customer service and guitar repairs. I recommend this store to not only local residents but also to people far away as the owner is very quick to fix your instruments. I still to this day have not found a music store that I would rather go to than joes music

I brought a guitar with a Bigsby to Joe for a setup. I bought, to me, an expensive guitar, had it shipped and was worried I received a lemon. It wouldn't stay in tune, sounded off, the jack came loose and was popping, and became dirty/rusted as I let it sit for a year (of course it needed a setup, but I am inexperienced with new guitars and procrastinated). I took it to Joe finally, and was glad I did. I was worried I was spending even more money on a setup, and it still wouldn't stay in tune. But when I came back he explained all of the intricate things he had to do, and made sure that I was happy with all the adjustments, and had no problem making further adjustments to my liking. I waited a couple months before writing this, and the guitar is FANTASTIC! I can hit the bigsby like crazy and have no problems with the tuning, intonation is on now, he replaced the jack and now is solid, guitar is like new and just how I had expected when I ordered it. It's truly a great service to to take a guitar that someone has doubts about, and turn it into something they can love for years to come. Thanks Joe! Also, he had two very well behaved dogs chilling in his store (pinto, and bella I believe), it was a relaxed atmosphere and he was very kind and not turned off at all about conversation, listened to me and taught me a lot, and showed me what he was doing as he was crafting an acoustic guitar for a customer from scratch. I would definitely feel comfortable having Joe do any of my repairs, it seems like he does a ton of them. Came out Great!!!!!
I've had my guitar worked on at Joe's twice now, and each time has been a stellar experience. Joe is friendly, laid back, and willing to take care of you as soon as you step in the door as long as he doesn't have a lesson going on or a backlog of instrument repairs. I live in Shaker, about a 30 minute drive away, and had a volume knob stop working on me last night. My immediate thought - head up to Joe's and have him fix it up; and that's exactly what I did. Rather than have it get taken in by some rude, impersonal guy at Guitar Center who would take a week and charge fifty bucks, I drove up to Joe's, we took a look at my guitar, and he made the simple fix I needed within ten minutes, all for five bucks plus tax (plus I got to hang out with his wonderful dogs for a bit)! Save yourself some time, money, and frustration, people - go to Joe's!
If you need your guitar fixed, Joe will take perfect care of you. He is inexpensive and goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of in a timely manner.
Joe is wonderful. Both times I've had to get my son's clarinet fixed, he's given us a loaner free of charge so he can still play at school. Plus, he's just a really nice, friendly guy. I highly recommend.
My son started lessons with Joe 14 years ago and now my youngest is his student. We have rented and bought every instrument from him and accessories. If he doesn't have it in the minute, he will order it and has the best prices.
Stopped in today with 2 guitars one a restring and polish (which joe finished up for me on the spot in about 20 minutes) and the other my grandfathers very old guitar for some repairs/adjustments. The shop is very cool and joe is very knowledgeable. I could tell right away I brought my grandfathers guitar to the right place. Can't wait to see and hear how it turns out.
I've been planning to pick up guitar for a while and didn't know where to start. I came in and was greeted by a gentleman who was making a guitar which is super cool. I asked a few questions and he happily answered them and told me about all the services they offer. Just stopped at Joe's by chance , didn't even know it was there, what a GREAT FIND.....I bought 2 sets of strings yesterday for $12 a set somewhere else and the same strings here are $7 ..great price on guitars and a good selection....real nice guy ..I'm bringing my Taylor in for a fret job and tune up his price $80....
I picked up a Dean acoustic guitar over the winter and I couldn't be happier with it! Brought it back for a setup once the weather changed and was in and out in five minutes. Joe really knows his stuff.

My daughter takes bass guitar lessons, playing the bass I originally bought for my wife at Joe's Music many years ago when my wife and I just began dating. My wife never played but my daughter expressed an interest. We are very pleased with the lessons my daughter is receiving including the cost, the convenience of scheduling, and rescheduling, and the progress she is making. Over the years I've bought amps and other odds and end from Joe. He is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Just got back from my 3rd visit to Joe's Music store to get some strings put on my guitar. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have a mom & pop, general store-like feel music store in our own back yard!
I have visited a few of the chain stores in the past few years, and always walk out of those stores with that feeling like Fred Willard saying "Wha Happened?" and depressingly go right home. The customer service in those places just...s...well....you know what I mean. They make a person feel like you don't belong here unless you have a certain look. Not one person makes me feel like a customer should.

Talk about a GREAT location for wherever you are..in or out of town. So easy to get to. Hop on from where you are and get to Route 2. Proceed to the Vine Street Exit heading West and he's right there just a little few feet up on the East side....I mean right there!! How convenient!!

Joe's Music is the best place to get a majority of your music needs. They have helped me in 5th grade with my percussion kit, valve oil for my brass horns, and with my bass guitar. If there is any place to help you with your music needs, I always strongly suggest Joe's Music!

As a guitar instructor, Tony Renfro demonstrates the same approach. He provides lessons specific to the needs of the student, in a courteous, patient and helpful manner. Tony is extremely talented and does an excellent job of crafting each lesson to meet the specific needs of the person he is working with.

A couple people on here have bad reviews. My experiences have been more than positive. I've had 3 basses rewired and a pot or two replaced. I could have done it myself but, I appreciate local ma' n pop shops. My concerns were addressed, the pricing was more than fair, turn around time was just a few days for each and the work quality was as if he was working on his own instruments. Repairs have and I feel will hold up like factory or better. May not be a huge variety of things in the store for purchase but, he can order about anything if he doesn't carry it. Very personal, to the point of your needs and the integrity is there 100%.
Joe's Music has always been helpful and accommodating for my children's needs. We bought two musical instruments when they began band in school. Now that they no longer are in school, Joe's Music offers consignment, and they both sold to new band students beginning their band classes. Very easy to deal with Joe's Music!! As far as i'm concerned joe's a good guy. he lives in a my neighborhood and offered me free a lesson with a local teacher when we talked about my flute! so as far as i'm concerned joe's really nice.
Took my Chapman guitar here for a set up. Probably the best this guitar has played the whole time I've had it. Joe was a down to earth awesome guy who not only set my guitar up but showed me a few things to help me understand my instrument more. Will be giving him more business in the future. Definitely interested in having him build me a guitar in the future. Major props for curbside service in these crazy times!
