Best grilled mahi sandwich in the cosmos! Fresh conch salad also a winner. Good beer on tap too. Don't slip on this NoMi gem.

First time this Captain Jim's after searching for seafood in South Florida (Orlando to Miami I was willing to drive for a one of a kind experience). Reviews of this place weren't lying. The store front and interior aren't flashy but the food more than makes up for it. The staff is very friendly, the food delicious and their own adding to classic dishes was very well done. We will be back when Stone Crab come in season. Certainly worth the drive and highly recommended

The photos are fake and the inside is like a school cafeteria. The place is dirty and stinky has nothing related to the ocean. If you want to have a good dinner with your family or on your own visit somewhere else. This place is not good. I forgot my phone there and it was actually there when I called the receptionist she said that it was there and when I went back she gave back to me.

Pretty good food and devent service. Cant beat the prices here and their lunch specials are very reasonable!

Last day in Miami and I had to have Stone crab. Sooooo good. Went all in and had fried lobster too. I'm in seafood heaven.

I can only base my experience on the stone crab claws. I have not yet ordered any other item. The crabs are fresh and good. I use to travel all the way to Delaware in Broward because I'm very picky about where I get my crabs. The only problem I would say is I wish Captain Jim'Seafood would have a variety of sauce like Delaware. The current sauce is good but has a tad bit too much horseradish. If they made at least more sauce with a little less horseradish I wouldn't mind giving them 5 stars. I do plan on ordering other items in the near future.

Very good food and service but min $58 for two at lunch. You will not be able to go back every day.

This user to be worth the drive when we would go years past, but lately the quality has just gone downhill. Fried fish is not crispy, portions are smaller and the staff seems to only be concerned in taking your money and not as much into friendly service.

Better Hurry before I eat all the Stonecrabs. Oh by the way, the other seafood delicacies are awesome. as well

The best thing their was the free whitefish/crab salad....I ordered the pecan crusted grouper....tasteless to say the least...

I was disappointed. I seriously doubt that Capt. Jim, who I understand is mostly in Key West, has any idea what goes on in his North Miami restaurant. I tried the shrimp cocktail. I was served 5 large tasteless shrimp and charged at a rate of $5 per shrimp, which would have been OK if the shrimp were fresh/good, but they were obviously old, tasteless and frozen shrimp. The cocktail sauce tasted funny too and the waitress replaced it for me, but nothing could help those awful, tasteless shrimp.

Because Capt Jims Restaurant usually gets good reviews, I wonder if I just ordered the wrong thing. I will go back someday; however, I will ask the waiter/waitress what they can recommend that is really fresh. If the same thing happens to me next time, that will be my last time.

The restaurant itself otherwise was very pleasant, and I saw nothing of a dingy appearance, which I have seen described in previous reviews. Anyway, excellent seafood is the most important thing to me and I'll just have to keep hunting for good seafood in Miami.

This was our first visit since the new owner took over and remodeled the joint. The food was good, the service was great but what once was a quaint Florida fish market with a wee restaurant attached is now a vaguely Caribbean inspired seafood restaurant, virtually indistinguishable from the surfeit of vaguely Caribbean inspired seafood restaurants in Florida. TL/DR - if you have never been, go. If you were a fan of the old place, give 'em a try.

Under new ownership... Finally... food was great. Time for the old crowd to start heading back to this N Miami tradition.

Do not order from them , the food sucks and they don't ever get your order right . I was sent uncooked fish and I paid for a side and I didn't get it . Take your money else where !!!!

Co worker told me about this place and had to try. The fish soup delicious! Friendly greeting and clean spot. Had the yellow tail fish with coconut rice. Tasty and just right. Drove by this place for years and never knew its menu. Must eat location.

Clams and linguine Could not eat/ not fresh, Lobster roll overpriced, and Shrimp okay but not really fresh which I expected based on the price. Really disappointed. All three dishes 22-30 via UberEats.

My experience at Captain Jim seafood restaurant is amazing, they're served you fresh seafood from the boat to the table. I was so happy with my delicious whole snapper coconut curry, congratulation to the owner and the staff good job.

I am in the area 3 or 4 times a year, and always stop at Captain Jim's. If you are looking for a seafood restaurant in the area, this is your place. They have excellent & friendly service, great food and a decor that is simple and attractive. Everything could not be cleaner. It is clear that ownership and management has an eye for detail and knows what they're doing. If this restaurant was near my home, I would be there every week!

I came to Miami for vacation and I was really in the mood for some good seafood and Captain Jim's was that place!! I had Lobster Bisque that was AMAZING, my mother got Clam Chowder that was also just amazing. I ended up getting the Crab Cake with Husb Puppies and this was literally the best crab cake I've ever had in my life. It was the perfect portion size and the sauces that came with it was so flavorful. My mother got the Shrimp linguini which was sooo good as well, very light and garlicly. The waitress was so sweet and informative. Only thing negative I could say is that they were out of snow crab which could be upsetting for some people.

The fish is so fresh. You will be not disappointed.

Fresh food, well prepared. We had an excellent conch chowder and lobster over linguine alla puttanesca. The staff was really nice, especially Yvonne (hope I got the name right). Considering the location the place is a bit pricy.

Fantastic place to get some food when in a rush. The customer service is fast, prices are convenient, fantastic vibes. I highly recommend this place

Wow everything here was amazing. The fried lobster was to die for. I had a Mahi sandwich and it was great, my husband had the swordfish and it was amazing. There was literally nothing here we didn't like. This is a hidden gem for the entire family.

I HATED THIS RESTURANT!!! The food was horrible, the lobsters had no claws, and were over cooked. The owner JEFFERY ROSSinsisted that we order a Lobster with fried calamari and shrimp. The Lobster was undone, the calamari was fried in a wet sauce, and the shrimp was raw. JEFFEREY ROSS even insisted that if we didn't like our food that he suggested that he would comp our meal an replace it. Well, when we told our waiter, a Russian lady with tattoos, she said the owner would come back and take care of us. When JEFFERY ROSS came back to our table, he told us if we don't pay, the police would be on their way. We were appalled and disturbed by this information. Before we could get out our seats we were met by police and questioned. We just moved to this area, please DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT. The worse!!

Wanted to get fresh fish today my friend ,that's in the business, suggested the newly renovated Captain Jim's. From the moment we walked through the door we got A+ service. Smiling faces asking us what we want giving suggestions. The restaurant is impeccably clean people coming in to have lunch. We got ours to go nicely wrapped and we were not disappointed.Stone Crab claws are delicious the Carribean soup and the Snapper too. Will be going back

Normally I don't write reviews, but this place is extremely over priced. Even with the groupon I feel I paid too much. The service definitely needs improvement. If you're going to charge top knotch price at least give good portions and have good service. I'm not willing to go back.

Absolutely loved it!! The cracked conch was perfectly made. The hush puppies were exquisite with a mild sweet flavor to them and the Flan was the best Flan I've had in a really long time. Looking forward to coming back really soon. This time I'm bringing all of my friends and family. Prices are appropriate for great fresh of the day clean and very well made sea food and accompanying dishes. The services was also quick and on point. The servers were very cordial and knowledgeable. My glass remained full at all times too.

By the way the place looks fantastic! They did a really nice job giving it a very cool, clean, fresh Marine feel to the place. Nice job. I really like this place and I strongly recommend everyone to stop by with friends and loved ones for one of the cleanest freshest seafood places I've ever been to in South Florida. You will enjoy.

Trying seafood at places that aren't franchises is always a gamble, but you can bet on Captain Jim. The staff are kind, the interior is cozy and inviting, and the food is fresh and savory! The only thing holding it back from 5 stars is that 1 of our orders came out fried when asked for blackened, but it was an honest mistake that doesn't happen often.
