Not good. Small room with four beds. Changed clothes in a small bathroom. Good nurse who did his best in the circumstances. Doctor was invisible and the nurse had to explain about my procedure.

The problem with this Hospital is the doctors in the ER. That was back in 2016, when they left a Foley catheter in me. To everyone who doesn't know what a Foley catheter is look it up on YouTube. Every 30 days I get it change and I get a new one. If you value your lives stay away from this Hospital. Please read all the reviews at this Hospital. This is a very dangerous Hospital to go too. God help you if you go they.

Everyone was great from the moment we arrived. The greeter Raquel was so friendly and helpful, then we had to get the Rx for the procedure from the doctor and that went quickly and smoothly. Thanks for the help! The gentleman who performed the scan could not be any more terrific and interesting.

The worst hospital I have ever been to , I 100% do not recommend ever stepping foot in JFK. Patient care is horrible and the staff are rude. If you want an update on a loved one forget about it they won t tell you anything and whatever they do tell you won t be right.

Ok we left Boynton Beach at 9:15 and came home at 6.
During that time no one told us anything. I guess two "elderlys" do not need to be informed as to what is going on. Finally at two my husband said that's it we are leaving. The nurses were not happy. They called charge nurses who called charge nurses who called the cat lab. In about a half hour a Noel came in and walked my husband to the lab. The doctor never introduced himself to my husband. Never explained what was about to take place. No. Then Noel came by and got me. She was great.
There was the doctor. No hellos. Nothin talked quickly about a clot, and that he had spoken to our cardiologist. You follow up with him. We will.
My husband is alive therefore the one star. But what a horrible experience.

Horrible Service!

Horrible Service!

There are some nice RN s and then there are the nasty rude RN s that yell or ignore patients that are either disabled or have just been shot, yelling at them to move without helping them ,knowing it s painful to move or are unable to move the lower part of their body , acting like the patients are an ugly alien and doesn t want help them ,walks away when asked a question . And they ask you to stay overnight without telling why they want you stay.
Horrible Communication

This hospital is a joke, I will NOT let anyone I care about ever go there. The 2 days I was there were the 3rd and 4th WORST days of my life and this was not due to my illness. They even sent part of my test results to a doctor I haven t seen in over 2 years

If there were a "zero" rating, I would give it. The nurses are the meanest, especially on the 4th floor. They mixed up doctors' information then would purposely delay your medication if you tried to clarify information. They think of you a trouble make dare you ask any questions or try to get any information about yourself. My family member was supposed to get an antibiotic at 2 pm, after I asked them medication time was due, the mean nurses did not give it to my family member until 5 (FIVE) hours later at 7:10 pm. Because of my family member's age and critical condition, the doctors refuses to give any aggressive treatment but time and again keep vital information from us and have harassed us to send my family member to Hospice when my family member should be getting aggressive treatment instead. This is a hospital without humanity.

It s hard enough to have to spend a night at a Hospital, what makes it worst it s the treatment from the nurses. I would not recommend this hospital to no one, you are better off at a vets office .

If you really are in need of care void this hospital at all means. You will be missed treated at JFK

Arrived at 6am for my wife s procedure. Construction all over the place. A disaster as far as signing. Where the entrance for Rothman is almost impossible to find. Parking and signing is also nasty. Someone needs to be out there directing people where to enter, where to park. I d say there needs to be a much bettter effort to assist when arriving at this mess. So we finally get into the building and admitting didn t have her listed for a procedure. Took awhile to get this on track. What s going on here? Let s get organized and get some order out of your mess.

I was very nervous before going into the hospital. The knee replacement surgery scared me very much. From the moment I checked in I was put at ease. Everyone was so nice, so patient and so available. I was so relieved about the care that I promised I would announce it to the world. Wonderful staff!

What a difference in service..... this is just the best hospital in town. I have lived in Wellington for 13 years and have been at Palms West and Wellington Regional. My son had surgery today at JFK and the difference is just abysmal.

Great management and great training, not only doctors and nurses, but every single person that you see.

Keep up the great job that you are doing.

Dr Rothenberg and the valve team worked great! My father's surgery went great!
But the hospital stay of my father after the surgery was horrid. I would not suggest to anyone staying as a patient in this place, only to come outpatiently and go home the same day, otherwise your health and your sanity are in trouble.

On Saturday August the third I went to the JFK hospital emergency because I had a bloodied eye; there was no parking but they have valet parking who assisted me and parked my car; I entered through the door that is temporarily awakened and when I arrived at the emergency desk, they immediately entered me and assisted me; the nurse asked me the routine questions and then took me to a room where a doctor saw me; I checked my eye; He prescribed me a few drops and told me that it was nothing to worry about that it was a blood vessel that broke me, and that it would soon happen to me; something that my ophthalmologist told me the next day too; In the emergency do not last 30 minutes; All security personnel, nurses and doctors were very courteous and friendly. Whenever I have gone to that hospital, they have always treated me very courteously and quickly; For a person to go to a hospital emergency and leave in less than 30 minutes, that is a blessing because most hospital emergencies are going to die or spend a whole day to be treated or seen by a doctor who It has to do with the problem the patient has. More than what they gave me I can't complain. I have been to this hospital more than 10 times and they had always treated me in a courteous and friendly manner.

I am so surprised to see such negative reviews about JFK. I had 3 choices of where to deliver my first child at and chose JFK because it was close to home, my husband was a contractor there at the time, and I had a great experience during an emergency situation in the past. In 2010, I had gone to Good Sam because my blood pressure and heart rate dropped dramitically. I didn't have insurance at the time and Good Sam just told me to wait as I was passing out in front of medical staff, so we left and my father took me to JFK who came out to the car with a wheelchair and had me hooked up to an IV before I was even in a room. I was admitted for 3 days and had great care the entire time. When I delivered my baby there in March 2016, majority of the staff was wonderful. I have a couple complaints, like one of the nurses wasn't taking an extremely painful issue I was having after delivery seriously. When the Doctor finally came in and said I needed to be rushed to a surgery room, she realized how serious the situation was. Another nurse totally violated HIPAA by yelling out the medications I'm on while my mother-in-law was visiting. And the food was awful - they would call me to ask what I wanted for each meal and the food was delivered to me hours later either ice cold from sitting so long, or not even fully cooked. Other than those issues though, I was treated very well for a brand new Labor & Delivery floor. Parking is a nightmare there, but that's what it's like at pretty much every other hospital I've ever been to. If we decide to have another baby, or if my loved ones or I end up in an emergency situation, I would definitely go back to JFK for care.

My first experience with JFK was one of the best, ...

My first experience with JFK was one of the best, I even went on Social Media to talk about it (Nurse Merline was one of the most caring caregiver I ever met - if someone knows her # please let me know). Hence why, the second time I felt sick, even thou I moved further from the hospital, I asked to go there, but it was one of my worst experience. I have hyperthyroidism and had chest pain, throat tightness and shortness of breath at the time, the doctor checked my thyroid while I was laying in bed on my back, and of course he couldn't feel if it was enlarged (as the best way to do it is while patient is sitting and it has to be done from behind for more accuracy) and cancelled my ultrasound even when I explained to how tight my throat feels. They released with my chest pain and all and just referred me to see a doctor the next day.
Summary, different floor, different doctors, different treatment. Back in August I would of given a 5; my 1 star stand for -1today !

All in all fine. I did ask for a flu shot twice but the papers say I refused. Also, the physical therapist who came was way off in her approach. She asked me to do something that was way over my abilities on the day after surgery. Reduced me to tears.

Two years have passed now as of this week and I continue focus on the rude and unprofessional conduct of the staff who were attending to my husband of 36years in the cardiac Cath lab. The end result of the procedure was that "his heart ruptured and we couldn't save him" At one point the nurse had no problem coming to me to tell me "the doctor wants you to know it doesn't look good" as she then proceeded to walk away I ask to be with him and was denied to stand with him because of "policy". I saw the fear in his eyes and heard his plea for me to stay with him but as a nurse myself knew I had to wait outside during the procedure and I assured him I would be right there. However as a nurse myself I can not imagine being told by a doctor to go and give the heads up that "it doesn't look good" and then in good conscious be able to deny that need to spend those final moments together. Policy does not account for such heartless behavior. I can not forgive myself and continue to suffer the fact of not being there for him. The treatment after they brought him to me was even worse. I still see him with the tube in his mouth, arms hanging down over the stretcher, and all they could tell me was " you need to remove his jewelry. To this day I would never again set foot in this hospital.

My stay at JFK was disappointing. I had been there 2 years prior and it wasn t that way.
The patient care on the fourth floor was not acceptable. Two patients in the next bed walked out because they had to wait for care.
When my IV emptied at 12:00 am, it woke me up. I had to push the buzzer several times but the nurse told me I have no patience. But the buzzer was waking everyone. And they moved me to a different floor at 1:00am.
There needs to be more communication between patient and nurse. When you are lying in a bed ill, and no one tells you anything and you wait and wait for answers it is very scary.
I hope that I don t have to ever go back there again.

Everything was Top Notch the Staff was #1, the only problem the doctor was support to come by my room to release me. Told nurses about the Doctor, then around 5;30 I told the nurse the next time don't be surprise if I'm not here. No more then 5 min. after statement the Head came in and ask if everything was alright told her about Doctor she said let me call the Doctor and and see if he will release you over phone. Ahour later I was heading HOME. How can you call the food "FOOD'.

I would like to say that the psych ward here is a disaster. First I would like to say, if you are feeling suicidle or wanting to harm yourself then find a different hospital. They released my brother without even doing a thorough mental evaluation on him before he left. Essentially they relaesed him even though he was still suicidle.

If you are going for detox then that s fine. That s all they help with anyway. Because you don t talk to anyone, you don t have therapists, you re just thrown into a wing where you sit and eat for around three days

Well I ve been here two days in a row. This is the most unorganized hospital I have ever been to. They gave me the wrong arrival time for yesterday 7:00am. Then when I got here they said I didn t need to be here until 9!!! I got my scope at 10:30.
Today I get here 9:00 as told for an ultrasound. They had me pre register and pre pay. I got here... no record of the payment, though it cleared my bank. Secondly I was to have an ultrasound at 9:30. It is now 10:10 am. They have me in a dirty crowded waiting room with sick people and cannot give me any idea when the thing will happen. I am the third person down here trying to reschedule. This is rediculous. I will have to change doctors so that I don't have to use this facility. Do NOT come here expecting a well rounded, clean professional hospital. Just pass this one by.

A long overdue hip replacement surgery was perform...

A long overdue hip replacement surgery was performed at JFK Medical Center. I have no complaints. The results of the surgery were wonderfully unexpected.
However (there's always a however), the surgery was financed through Medicare and I didn't realize how much financially I would be responsible for. So, the knowledge gap between what I was expecting to pay (nothing would have been optimal) and the bills I received was unexpected.
Since I had no idea what my costs would be denied me the opportunity to make an informed decision on whether or not to proceed with the surgery.
I rely soley on social security for income.
I've taken a big hit on my budget.
I can't economize more than I do to pay my part of the costs for the surgery.
Had I known the costs. I could have planned accordingly.
...the hospital was rather blithe in telling me, after registering me the morning of surgery, that the cost of registering me would be $200.00. ..."and how would you like to pay?...
Very much like the ploy car dealerships use when charging you $200 for floor mats.
* Hidden car rental fees
* Airport baggage handling fees
* Hotel room charges
* I'm sure anyone reading this can come-up with more examples.
* And, last but not least, Hospital Registration Fees.

I was airlifted to JFK after I suffered an aneurysm. I was intervined by Dr. Obuchowsky who made the right decision and saved my life. I'm writing this review while I'm still at this center. I have been taken care of in such incredible way! I will never be able to repay the staff and everyone who has been involved in my recovery, starting from the ICU nurses, the doctors at the hospital, the neurologists team, the radiologists, the nurses in the regular rooms (after I was released from ICU), the occupational therapists, they are all fantastic. I'm grateful to each and everyone. I only have one little complaint that I overcame: the food. But which hospital has good food? Still, I have been able to maneuver the situation when they come to ask me what I'd like to eat.
Dr. Obuchowski and JFK Medical Center saved my live.

A day after my review: I was surprised by the director of food and nutrition services. My life at JFK changed. All of the sudden I started receiving the royal treatment. I have to clarify that I have been lucky to have a regular diet (I'm not diabetic, nor have any other condition that would restrict me from eating anything). If you have a special condition, you have to eat what they think is convenient for you. I can now eat real delicious food! What else can you ask for? I'm being treated here, they are taking excellent care of me, and now I'm eating like a royal! Thank you JFK!

My wife was admitted through emergency room brought In by ambulance which was ok. After she was checked in everything went down hill. We have 2 kids and have been to few hospitals in our lives but this one takes the cake. They are on the verge of being criminal what they do there. From waiting on dr. To asking a nurse for simple things it takes hours. They keep you so they can charge ins company for the stay. It is a business and they treat human beings like cattle. I'm not going to go into details but do yourself a favor and if you have an option choose alternative

Experience wad horrific. Doctors are never present. Nurses are so unprofessional and ununattentive. The wait to get a simple diagnosis is unfortunate. The administration is terrible. I constantley had the ER staff come in and out of my room without even introducing themselves or even saying excuse me, there goes my privatcy. The only genuine person who asked if they could enter was a sweet cleaning lady. And worst of all, no one can genuinely say they're sorry. Everyone who is unsatisfied with their experience gets the same apology. Truly wished 0 stars was an option.

Very DIRTY! Soap dispenser in ER bathroom did not work can you say germs and superbugs!! No sheet covering the bed. Needle covers and plastic sitting on the exam table. Also the nurse taking my blood dropped her latex glove on the ground then put it back in her pocket to use on another patient OH MY GOD. Also no parking! The only positive is they took me in fast. I will never return the sanitation practices of this hospital scares me!! I forgot to mention poor bedside manor and lack of privacy.

Was disrespectful and lied to us around every corn...

Was disrespectful and lied to us around every corner. Refused to take me seriously and when I complained about it I was threatened with a baker action. I am a completely competent person and I do not wish to harm myself or others so legally I am unable to be baker acted. The crazy part about their threat? They could have done it too. Claimed I was homicidal or something and thrown me in. They hold people like that all the time. The baker act law gives way to much power to the police and the hospital, who then choose to abuse the law. The have one single psychologist on there payroll to diagnose the problem and a single judge to mandate longer stays when they feel like it. I don't know if the judge knows that the psychologist might be lying or not, but they do get involved in this system abuse. You can not lock a person away and keep them away from there family, and expect them for one not to get depressed. And two want to talk. The law in itself is idealistic, however it has become a monster that people now fear. The police threaten mother's in front of their children with it the doctor's will threaten you with it if you don't want to take a certain type of prescriptions. Seriously you can't ask for a change of medicine in this place! They strip you of your freedom and claim it's legal however according to the US Constitution it is against our rights as citizens. I don't think that the baker act law should be disposed, I just believe that it should be amended... and maybe monitored. The law is not supposed to be used by officials to scare people it is their to Provide safety. How does one feel safe when in fear? Survey says... they can't. So ask yourself can you really trust a place that so readily abuses the law? And it's sad because if they screw up they have the ability to doctor documents and files.

My uncle is in there with open heart surgery... relatives all in waiting room for Doctor and phone calls with those caring for him during the operation. Noonish for timeline... in walks four guys with huge floor and vacuums starting to work - lots of noise - no one can hear the person next to them nevermind a doctor or anyone on the other end of a phone call. Terrible timing. That sort of janitorial work should be done at night when no operations are going on. Not in the middle of the day ... just absurd.

I am already disabled (2x fractured & failed lumbar surgeries) and arrived at the ER around 1:30 AM after surviving a scooter accident 10 days ago. The 6 gash necessitating sutures, cuts, severe bruises & serious swelling I handled without to much difficulty, however 7 days ago the sharp yet throbbing pain in my upper left chest quadrant both anterior & posterior just about made me lose my mind. Never, ever Have I experienced pain like that even after major spinal surgery! As I had already pretty much guessed, Dr. CRAIG SCOTT BLACK DID A VERY THOROUGH HEALTH HISTORY & ACCIDENT HISTORY, physical examination (Without hurting me and was very sensitive to my pain!) X-rays, and CATSCAN. He set my mind at ease diagnosing my 2nd left rib fracture (slightly displaced.) Unfortunately very little can be done for rib fracture except for painkillers, rest, and ice. I m still in agony, however I am grateful to the doctor for setting my mind at ease! I WAS TREATED WITH RESPECT & EFFICIENCY. The ER NURSE WAS VERY HELPFUL & COACHED me about on my RIB FRACTURES. She personally identified With me because she had sustained Twin rib fractures two years previously and knew just had to handle them. I appreciated everything, however a DR. Laurent Rene Dreyfus was listed as a physician on my ct & X-ray reports (Dr. Donald Blake was the radiologist who read BOTH THE CATSCAN & the Xrays that revealed my sole rib fracture fractures.!) I m really confused because I didn t meet him nor Did he treat me! Very strange. Overall it was an excellent visit and I highly recommend JFK s ER For any patient that wants excellent care!
