The ABSOLUTE WORST !!!!!!!!! i have been attempting to register my child for school since may. no one has any answers as to when registration dates begin. I spoke with Dr. Hypolite who seems to know less than her own staff. I spoke with Jesse, Clair, Liz, Mary Walsh, among others and none were able to provide assistance. As a matter of fact none were able to provide a consistent answer. Everyone had different information, yet none were able to help. I especially LOVE how Claire was so nasty and had no response other than the generic response they give when dealing with an unsatisfied parent. I dont think it is too much to ask for the BOARD OF EDUCATION to know when registration dates are. Furthermore, i have been in constant contact with the B.O.E. to no avail, Dr. Hypolite didnt even have a clue that the registration link was not listed on the site. I was given multiple confirmations that the registration link would be provided on the site no later than 9/01/02017, it is now 9/6/2017 and after 2 phone calls to the mayors office i finally received a TENTATIVE date of 9/11/17. not to mention that date does not include the wait time to have an appointment to register the child. I have been dealing with these issues with the board of education for 2 years now. This is out of control! Are these really the people who we have selected to run our childrens educational system?! We have got to do better ! And for the mayors office to respond that they have no control over what goes on in the B.O.E - to that statement i respond- my may not have control but you do have influence.
I don t think our children should have to go back to school and be put at risk of getting covid and spreading it to family members or God forbid become hospitalized. I also don t think kids should be put in a position to have to wear mask everyday for hours at a time- you can barely breathe in them! They can just remain home and be free. I also don t think they should be put in a position where they will be treated as a germ or contagious from peers or teachers if they don t have their mask or come to close to another. Just going to the grocery store alone, people are treated like we re/they re hazardous by staff members and people being rude and disrespectful about social distancing. I don t feel our children should have to be exposed to any of this. Let alone any biases which anyone may have due to the world news going on today. Outside is a risk to expose my children to during these tribal times we are experiencing. Fall is flu season anyway. Let them stay home!
Trying to get real help is like trying to get the job you actually went to college for. You have to know someone that know someone.
If I could give no stars, I would. Instead of being introduced with a simple greeting, I was greeted by a horrible attitude when all I did was try to ask a question. I understand that information couldn t be given because my parents were not with me but there was no need for an obnoxious attitude.
Do better, I dont think these people care as much as they should. The attitudes given are not warranted. Act like they aren't getting paid.
I call never answer the phone ,dont leave a message they'll never call back ! and dont care about special needs children at all ,not even to have a after school program for them ,special needs casper would be great !, just like one of the workers said that's for normal students only. May God forgive you for that comment!
I just dont understand how will they educate kids they are ill organized and functionally illetrate and if you try talking to them they start lecturing you as you are a student disrespectfull, illmannered ,uneducated duffers
Absolutely The Worst and extremely unprofessional. My son was in the same school for 4 years with the wrong address on file I have given the school the correct address over 10 times ( ps 22) now it is August and my son is supposed to start middle school in a 2 weeks and still no papers in the middle. I call board of education and to my surprise they still had the wrong address on file and they registered my son in the wrong district in the wrong school but that isnt my biggest problem with them they tell me there is nothing they can do and my son will have to go there along with no transportation until they fix there error in the system and if I feel like it I go go to the school on the first day and ask child study team if they can find him an opening in the school he was supposed to go to to begin with. I have had it with Jersey city board of education and there poor choice of staff members who make no efforts in doing there actual job. I will be bringing it to court. my child is autistic and deserves so much more.
Latanya (sorry if I did not spell your name correctly) very helpful and so nice. I had no idea you need a transfer card for your child to get into a charter school. She was so friendly and helpful. But non of the schools are open to obtain a transfer card
