I did a maternity photo shoot with Jennifer and I couldn't be happier with the final photos. I was referred by a friend who had a great experience and gorgeous photos from her. I was 36 weeks pregnant when I first contacted her and she responded to my email right away and invited me to her studio for tea to talk about what I was looking for. I was a bit nervous and shy about the thought of being partially naked, but Jennifer immediately put me at ease. Less than two weeks later, I was back in the studio for the shoot. She's incredibly professional and really wants to capture not just a great photo, but one that really speaks to who you are as an individual and celebrates your pregnancy. The best part was reviewing the proofs with my husband (it was a surprise for him) and selecting our final prints. He LOVED them! She even hand delivered the final framed prints to my house after the baby came! Jennifer is a wonderful person, a talented photographer, and I'm so glad I had a chance to get to know her and work with her on these portraits.
Working with Jennifer is comfortable, easy, and fun, and the results are stunning. I have gone to her for two maternity and two family shoots and am in love with her photographs hanging in our home. I have always disliked having my picture taken, but Jennifer is so skilled and down-to-earth that it was a pleasure every time. And the shots she captured are amazing. Jennifer is THE photographer to go to if you're looking for maternity or family photos. Her work is stunning and she's wonderful to collaborate with -- just the right balance of knowing when to direct and when to step back and let you drive. A photo session can be a very intimate process, Jennifer made this really enjoyable and "met me where I was at." She took an amazing amount of photos and when I first saw all the choices I thought I would be overwhelmed by making the final cut, yet alas Jennifer has a process that efficiently guides you through the selection process and I ended up with amazing photos capturing exactly what I was hoping to.
When my daughter was just 4 weeks old we did a photo shoot with Jennifer. This included me, my husband, my sister and brother-in-law, my 2.5 year old nephew and 6 month old niece, my parents and my brother and his girlfriend. All of whom had flown in from all over the world to meet the newest member of the family. I wasn t sure how the photo shoot would go with so many variables (I.e. 2 young kids with jet lag) but Jennifer managed to capture all of our best selves in her beautiful photos. We just received the prints and immediately hung them on the wall and they are a pure ray of happiness in an uncertain world. Jennifer was wonderful to work with, a true artist. She strikes the balance of professional and unconventional in a way that relaxed my family. The images that she shot are a wonderful representation of each of us and they will be treasured for a lifetime. I cannot recommend her strongly enough, working with her was a delight and the final product is a treasure. Her assistant, Sarah, is also fantastic and responded almost immediately to any email that I sent. She helped to facilitate all of our appointments and both she and Jennifer were flexible and accommodating.
My experience shooting both my maternity and family photos with Jennifer was amazing. She makes you feel so comfortable and beautiful. The images are artistic and captured how empowered pregnancy made me feel. She made the shoot fun and engaged with both my husband and I. The images turned out spectacular, they truly look like they belong in a magazine spread. Jennifer is for you if you want unique photography that is classic and will look like artwork on your walls or wherever you choose to display them. This is the complete opposite of a cheesy maternity shoot.

We've had the pleasure of having Jennifer documenting our family's growth through art photography since 2010. I've had the honor of watching Jennifer work a number of times in a number of different settings over the years. I knew she wasn't just pointing a camera and snapping at random. She's trained as a photojournalist, and she captures thousand-word stories as well as beautiful artistry in the bodies she photographs. I knew this, and therefore I thought I was prepared for what it would be like to have her photograph my own family, but I was still blown away. She took three kids, including an extremely headstrong and stranger-distrusting toddler, and had them displaying the very best of their affections for each other in a matter of minutes. She captured their spirits so very well. It was really hard to pick which prints to frame, but these are pictures I'll be thrilled to have on my wall for decades.

When you're pregnant and looking for maternity photos, there are so many options it can be overwhelming, but Jennifer Loomis stood out. Instead of the ubiquitous pictures of women staring lovingly and literally glowingly at their growing stomachs in a field of wildflowers, Jennifer captured what pregnancy really is: a huge range of emotions, a huge range of physical sensations, and - love. When I look back on my maternity pictures, I don't see a lot of glorification of pregnancy. I see how much love I had for the baby, and I see how hard it was, and I see how incredible and amazing it was, and I see how scared we were - I see it all. Moreover, despite a difficult pregnancy, Jennifer made me feel beautiful. Since then, we've returned to Jennifer for newborn photos as a family, and my daughter and I go for a photo shoot every year around her birthday to document her growing up. Taking that time for my daughter shows her how much I love her, how important she is, how her childhood is worth preserving and documenting. And every time, Jennifer's pictures get better. She captures who my daughter is (and who my dogs are - they come too!), and she captures our relationship, with all its many emotions. I really can't imagine a better photographer, or a better use of time and money. There's nothing more important to me than my child, and Jennifer's photos document that perfectly.

Jennifer was so fun to work with! I had maternity photos done very late in my pregnancy when I was physically feeling my worst and was nervous about doing a photoshoot nearly nude. I had never done anything like that before, so being nervous is actually an understatement. Jennifer made me feel so calm and comfortable throughout the entire process and captured so many beautiful shots, not only of myself but between my partner and I. We were so happy with the experience, we booked another session for when our daughter is a bit older.
