Bought a bike online expecting it to be shipped an...

Bought a bike online expecting it to be shipped and arrive at my door about a week later. This morning I got a call that they could no longer validate my order because there was a glitch in their system and shipping should have been 6x as much. Instead of owning up to their fault (it was a $3000 order) they called and said they would charge the difference in price to my card. I unfortunately decided to cancel the order and do not recommend doing business with them, as they are unwilling to follow through with their orders.

On-line rental experience was good. In store pick up and return were ok at best. Overall experience left me with the impression they were way more concerned with the condition of the bike upon return over going out.

Make sure you:

Inspect the bike for damage before taking possession.

If you elect to purchased the insurance, make sure you understand what s included and what s not, AND you get a copy of it.

Make sure the bike and brakes work like new before taking possession. Friends bike had 5% brakes left and they would not fix it after taking it back in for fixing.

Make sure you also get an itemized receipt.

My story, take it for what is worth. Picked up bike, had damage to the shock stanchion (scratch) and figured it was a rental and thought nothing of it, had purchased insurance after all. Returned bike and forget to add a head set spacer I removed due to Garmin k-edge Mount. Shop called reminded me of the missing spacer and damage to the bike. Returned to the shop with spacer and was asked to pay $300 for damaged stanchion. Never crashed the bike over 5 days and never damaged during logistics. Spoke with manager and he said was not covered under insurance (why buy Insurance?). After a long discussion, settled on $30. Which I believe was principal on his end. 1st time ever with an issue renting. Left me with an unfortunate experience.

Quite displeased with the service. I ordered a pair of Oakley goggles that were on sale. A few days later, I got an email back after our order was confirmed which said we no longer can fill your order.
They offered to send me a different color for $75 more. After talking with their supervisor, they said they could reduce that extra charge to $50.
Canceled order. I wouldn't recommend their online services.

Amazing Customer Experience - I walked in this morning and was immediately greeted by a smiling, knowledgeable representative (Grace). I had all my questions answered completely, got a great bike path recommendation, and David fitted my road bike perfectly. This team knows their stuff and knows how to ensure their customers have wonderful experiences.

I bought an Arc teryx jacket on sale on the website. I received a call a couple of days later and was told the jacket had actually sold out. They offered to refund my money. I asked them to see if there was anything else they could do. They reached out to ArcTeryx and had one sent to them, and then they sent it to me at the sale price. They are the best! Thanks Jans, and especially Chelsi!

Good customer service but weak selection. Recently I was looking for a new ski helmet with built in goggles. Jan had nothing. After driving up and down Main Street I found exactly was I was looking for across the street at Coles.

There are not enough words to praise our experience at Jan's on Park Avenue.
I guess we didn't do good research because we were unaware that online reservations were required by some ski shops to rent ski equipment.
We visited a couple of shops prior to going into Jan's and not only we were told that there was not equipment availability unles we reserve online but the prices were pretty outrageous. The worst experience was at Cole's, with really snobby and unhelpful staff. Across the street from Cole's we found Jan's. WOW! What a difference! Everyone was super nice and super chilled. We worked with Brad, who was incredibly knowledgeable and nice. He made our rental experience super easy, super fun, and ABOVE ALL, he gave us super flexible options in terms of returning and re-renting equipment since we were staying in Park City 2 weeks and we planned to take a day off from the slopes here and there.
We had friends joining us throughout the 2 weeks, we took them to Jan's for they rentals and they all were blown away by their customer service.
Next time we ski in Park City we will be going directly to Jan's. In our book, they are the only and very best option!

We had such a positive experience here. Had an issue with one of our fishing poles and they immediately took care of us. Knowledge and advice in the fishing world was super helpful as well. Definitely will be back!

Excelllent boot fitting! Christof and the other employees helped us out the first day and had my son's painful boots stretched out over night.

After skiing on them all the next day, we came back and Sammy made a couple more adjustments. He spent an hour working with my son to make sure it all came out great. Give that guy a raise.

If this was my company I'd consider myself lucky to have such a great and knowledgeable staff that really cared for the customers.

Only exception was the ski waxer dude downstairs. Seemed like he'd rather be anywhere else. Come on man, at least pretend you enjoy helping a customer.

Would highly recommend getting boots fitted at Jans.

Just rented a bike today. This place completely rocks. Every single person was cool and friendly. The bike was DOPE. I love to ride and travel a lot. This is the best bike rental experience I ve ever had.

They have everything you need and an amazing staff...

They have everything you need and an amazing staff. Got a flat tire on personal bike. They replaced my tube and installed it, only charging me for the tube. Maybe it's COVID, maybe it was my people skills , but they left an impression with me and my family. Thank you!!

I'd give this 5 stars based on my experiences years ago. The staff used to provide unmatched customer service. However, by the time they were don't helping you, they knew everything about you and you knew everything about them. More importantly, they outfitted you in the best equipment for you regardless of the price tag. My recent visits, however, I feel like the staff is always up-selling and not interested in providing 5-star customer service. I have since started using other vendors in town for my sporting needs.

Excellent service, knowledge, and employees, we had a great experience at this store. We went in for rentals and came out buying boots, skis, and with a wealth of knowledge about the area. Thank you in particular to Bransford and Bridger, you guys were great!

Customer service that goes above and beyond. I have some 5 yr old k2 ski boots. One buckle was severely damaged. Marty spent over 30 minutes finding a new buckle replacement and ensuring it fit the boot. He went way beyond what was expected. I was very thankful that he spent the time helping me and getting my boot back into working order. This was my first time at Jans and it won t be my last.

Great experience with some friendly staff at JANS. Quick and easy pickup. My front fork ended up seizing the first day of a four day rental. Chris facilitated a lightning fast swap and a refund for the first day. Thanks to the whole team over there for customer service done right - we will be back!

Jans was excellent to work with. I had booked bike rentals a couple weeks ago, but due to an unforeseen surgery had to cancel last minute (outside the cancellation window) The guys in the bike department went above and beyond and refunded our reservation. We will definitely be re-booking our rentals at Jans again! Great customer service!!

Bransford set me up with a beautiful pair of K2s. He also spent time having me try on multiple sets of boots until we settled on a pair that fit my feet best. Marty provided the assist with finding a great set of poles. Excellent place to shop skis and great service. Ask for these guys by name, you won't be disappointed!

The Karen who answered the phone did everything she could do to discourage me from renting a mountain bike. However I persevered and gave this place a chance, boy am I glad. Rental folk were great, they set us up with a sick bike and a reasonable price.
