AC went out on a Sunday, they were able to come out as quick as Tuesday morning. The technician was able to show up early, and gave me a call when he was on his way, both of which were very great! He explained the issue in plain English and happily tolerated my questioning things to make sure I understood. He did offer additional related services that made sense and generally "added value" but wasn't at all pushy or made it feel like he was trying to upsell me. Long story short, he was respectful of my time, efficient, knowledgeable, and professional - and best of all, I have working AC again! Thank you thank you thank you, Mark C of James River Air!

When I called to schedule an appointment they were very willing to meet the need that was an issue at that time. Almost within minutes I received a call from the technician setting up a time and date. He was great. When he came out he was professional, cordial, pleasant and and went right to work assessing the problem and needed resolution.

The service tech, who was appropriately uniformed, was very pleasant and began work promptly. He was careful to put on shoes whenever he came into the house. He completed his examination of all three systems and changed the filters in the two heat pumps. He also washed the heat pumps outside cabinets with a cleanser that removed accumulated stains. He left after answering our questions.

Got cold last night and our heat didn t come on. I couldn t call until almost 10am and they still got us in same day. Mike was very knowledgeable and showed professionalism with just plain honesty. We have had a contract for years and I have to say the visit today was way worth the yearly fee. Thank you Mike!

Our family has been customers since 1998 at a prior house. We trusted James River so much that we had them check the system on this house before we moved here in 2006. We have had them install tankless hot water heater as well as upstairs gas and AC system and dual fuel (heat pump with gas back-up) and AC. While they will point out improvements to add, their focus is on preserving the relationship with the homeowner and not a hard sell for additional services. I have found James River has very experienced professional staff. There is confidence that who they send knows what they are doing. The most recent visit was from Mark Corey, a senior technician with a lot of experience.

The technician was very polite, professional and quick. He wore his mask (as expected) and he provided necessary details on what he was doing. I have always appreciated the service I received from James River Air Conditioning. They actually came 7 days earlier than expected and that was just fine with me after the heat we have had this summer. Great job, Great Company, Great Partner.

James River does a great job for us. They are always on time, responsive, thorough, and professional. Mike did a thorough job inspecting all the aspects of the system and provided helpful recommendations. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and helped me understand more about how the system works and how to keep it functioning efficiently.

If you read one review, please read mine. Learn from my mistakes. James River Heating and Air WILL price gouge you. I was hot. I was tired. I should have done my research. That's on me. I needed my 12 year old AC unit replaced in a rush because it completely gave out on me. James River came out, and said the repair would be more than 1k for a fan motor and that I should think about replacing the whole unit. A "supervisor" who was actually just a glorified salesman came out and sold me a unit for 10k, which is roughly 2x the price an AC unit should be for my house (4k-6.5k). I just wanted it over and done with, and for my house to be bearable again, so I signed the paperwork and it was installed the next day. Yes, they were friendly and accommodating. But I would rather be treated like dirt by a company than to be price gouged and worry how I'm going to eat for the next few years. Go with a smaller company. Don't go with James River. Do your research before allowing yourself to be rushed into agreeing to terms.
