Jacs grill Review

Food is dependably good. Such large portions, I usually take half to go and enjoy again the next day or share one meal w my husband.

My 1st time eating at Jac's Grill and I must say that it was very good! I'll definitely be going back to try their dinner entrees!

Steak was excellent. Great flavor and prepared as ordered. Server was very courteous. Will go back again. Even the green beans were yummy.

Wife got the Ahi Tuna which tasted awesome she says. I got the salmon with crab meat, very delicious....if I'm ever back here in Wilson, NC I will eat here again!

Excellent food and service. Eat here all the time and always bring out of town guests. Also, specialty drinks are amazing!

The food was very good and so was the service. My steak was a little bit fattier than I care for and a bit pricier. The bread was served with strawberry-peach butter; that butter tasted excellent.

Stopped in passing thru town on shopping trip. Service was slow and waitress was not very personable, food was slow and 2 of 4 plates were cold. Prices are far higher than food and service warrants. They probably only had 50% of their tables seated, would hate to see it on a busy night.

The sort of restaurant where you are seated next to people you don't know. A full house is so cacophonous you can't hear your dinner partner. So you sit trying not to knock into the stranger next to you, attempting to read your partners lips, while your ears ring from the noise. If you have issues with claustrophobia or have anxiety issues like I do, please don't come here. Food wasn't that good to deal with all that.

Great food and amazing ambience, but not necessarily the best table service. The workers here work good as a whole, just one or two aren't the greatest.

Had a great family dinner there last night, our waitress was amazing, and the food was outstanding

Sat outside on this beautiful evening on the patio, dinner was OK, first time in months i was not in awe with the prime rib, but to top it all off, two guys came out and lit up there smokes. 7pm at night, not a bar scene, waitress and staff said nothing to them, totally ruined dinner. Thanks Jac's.

Went there Monday for Prime Rib night 4 of us ordered medium rare Prime Rib notice o after sversev bite the top of the steak was medium rare but the bottom was medium well and it's was for all 4 steaks.One order of broccoli was almost raw.Very disappointed.

During my road trip I had the chance to visit this restaurant. The food was decent but not the best, it could ve been better. I don t think it was one of their best night. The food was well presented, good customer service. We just couldn t finish it. I will give them another try.

Great menu. Had the tuna burger with house made chips, it was very tasty. Not the cheapest, but you certainly get what you pay for.

Always on time and organized for to go orders too! I've catered multiple times and not only is the food fantastic, so is the service. I always get the apple & gorgonzola salad with blackened chicken or crab cake. They could charge more too if they wanted! My husband and I love everything we have tried on the menu so far. And I'm a food snob from Atlanta!

My lunch was delicious! Had an issue with the wait time and without even having to say anything to the waitress, my lunch was comped and promptly placed into a to-go box so I would be able to get back to the office in time. Great show of hospitality and I will certainly be back!

We have eaten at Jac's several times and always receive excellent service and good food. Very clean, comfortable atmosphere for small groups or a date night. I have never been blown by the food - prime rib on special one night, variety of steaks and seafood since. I do appreciate that the steak and prime rib are always cooked as ordered, in my case medium rare. I plan to continue going back as Jac's always meets expectations.

Fake fancy with the decor but really fancy with the food. I ordered the pecan encrusted salmon and it was delicious. I did not enjoy the sauce on top but my mother did so there's that. It was too strong for my taste. We had a party of ten there for a celebration and it was very nice. The dessert is also amazing. The chocolate cake they serve is super delicious but I preferred their banana dessert. Just go there and have some good food lol

I had a chicken pasta dish that was a nice change from an alfredo sauce. My friends and my husband all had steaks that were prepared exactly as ordered. We also liked that we could have a conversation and hear each other since the noise level was not loud like most places.

An out-of-the-way, cozy place. The inside feels a little more upscale than the title "Grill" implies. The food is mid-range pricing, but it is delicious. Bread and "butter of the day" is brought to your table, and after ordering, our main dish came quickly. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes and smoked gouda sauce. It was a decent sized portion, and I thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Haven't been for a while because of covid. Best tuna ever with wasabi mashed potatoes. Everything there is delish. Servers are great.

Wife had tuna sandwich. Over cooked. Replaced with new plate less then 5 minutes and she tore it up! Was awesome.

Like I have never over cook tuna steak!! Ha

Frys and chips were killer.

3 beers and 2 apps, 2 salads, and 2 full meals. 50 bucks!

Great service, food was awesome and didn't have to wait.

It was Monday around 7:00
Seated right away and service was good.
Friendly staff and smiling faces.
I ordered a wedge salad with sliced ribeye and blue cheese dressing. Mother Earth Endless river as my drink.
For my first experience here, I am very impressed.
The food was excellent, quick and the beer is amazing.

Nothing on tap but a good selection of bottles to make up for it.
There doesn't seem to be enough seating for a rush though, so I'd suggest a reservation on busy nights.

Great steak, kinda small. If you love wine it's a good place.

Have no idea how this restaurant has such a high star rating: Crab dip should be called cream cheese dip, must have had a half cup of oil in my pasta dish and then you get to pay for it. There are lots of other dining choices, don't bother with Jac's.

Always so very good. Best place to meet my daughters for a great lunch. The atmosphere is very comfortable.

We loved the food. The atmosphere was nice - we ate outside. The service was a little slow. Rack of ribs, salad, and spaghetti all great. Chicken pasta would have been better without the spinach and mushrooms.

Worst meal we ve ever had at Jac s tonight. Usually the French onion soup is amazing, tonight it was Luke warm and the cheese wasn t even melted on top. When we asked to have the cheese remelted they brought it back to us basically the same just a little less warm. Our broccoli was brought to us cold and so was the Gouda sauce. It took forever to get a warmer sauce. The waitress seemed visibly frustrated with us. Then we had to box up our own food which we ve never had to do at Jac s. It took us forever to get our beers and it was just a frustrating experience to have had an expectation of a great evening and meal and it turned out so bad. Our waitress was also wearing camo crocs and the hostess had on open toed Birkenstock sandals. Not something you would think to see at a more upscale restaurant. Upon leaving we noticed that half the awning to the outdoor patio is blown off and the sign is damaged. Maybe this all should ve been an indication that things indoors weren t going to be any better. We will not be back for a while until something there changes.

The wait staff is always Excellent. This time they were visibility under staffed and rushing around. The prime rib was great! The green beans and risotto were under cooked.

A tad lacking on ambiance, the interior feels almost dated, but the food was very good. In fact, it's the only local restaurant my husband and I have enjoyed so far. We took my mom out for her birthday when she was in town for a visit. The spinach salad was really good, the crab dip appetizer was okay. My mom had shrimp and grits and really enjoyed it. My husband had the tuna burger and thought it was great. I had the salmon and really enjoyed everything but the crab topping. It wasn't very good and distracted from a nice piece of fish. The service was excellent.

This is a quaint little restaurant, with really good food. If you are ever near Wilson, NC stop by and get their homemade cranberry mayo and blackened shrimp and grits.

Delicious and safe. We had fried green tomatoes, oysters and filet salad. Great lunch and the waitress was properly masked. Tables were appropriately spaced. I am thankful for this business. They are a leader in the Wilson community. Please patronize them....they deserve to be successful!!

Another gemstone in Wilson, North Carolina. This restaurant has a delicious selection of food and is more of a fine-dining style. While I've only been here twice as of this review, both times I've been here I have had great customer service and waiters/waitresses. While some may complain about the price, I think they literally give you a fair share of food for the dollar (see picture). I typically come here for a full rack of ribs and the ribs are so tender that the bone comes right out clean. This restaurant does not take reservations but you can request the private room if necessary. If you do not get here early, be prepared to wait as I have had days where they say it can be up to a two hour wait. That's probably one of the only gripes I can think of is that the restaurant likely isn't big enough to seat the demand. Welcome to Wilson...where most of the best food is packed in tiny locations.

As a connoisseur in trying new foods and cuisines, this place likely will not disappoint. From Surf N' Turf and Ahi Tuna to ribs and burgers, this place has something for everyone.

P.S. Who came up with the idea of Wasabi Mashed Potatoes...you odd folks? Just kidding.
