One of the best (maybe the best) family breakfast places near downtown. My sons wanted to give Jacks N Joe 6/5 stars. Friendly staff all around, nearly perfect American style breakfast, very clean, and a good value for my family!

Watch hosts as they like to pick and choose who is called first, I waited in line to watch another group of people who arrived after me get called first. Terrible! I talked to the manager and he was just as unhelpful, would not even apologize for the staff s error and claimed I was wrong because I didn t specify what kind of table? A table is a table! Wow. I normally don t leave reviews but this one is worth noting. Terrible experience, the food was alright nothing special.

I used to be a regular customer here but moved across town. I MISS THIS PLACE. To the one or two neg reviews: If something is not right, you didn't ask to make it right.

GREAT PANCAKES - EXCELLENT COFFEE - STELLAR SERVICE

Gee what more could you ask for?

Incredibly unique and delicious !! Pineapple mango smoothie is so fresh. Pancakes large enough to share !! Service is wonderful !! Parking not so great in the USC area. There is a wait, but it's so worth it.

Food here is very good! Almost worth the hour wait, almost. There is terrible parking at this location, so prepare yourself to park on the street. I ordered the French toast with a side of eggs and sausage and it was delicious. I tried my husband's crazy looking pancakes and they were alright. The best item was the pancakes that my friend ordered. They were fluffy, buttery, and oh so good! They just melted in my mouth. I must say, this place certainly does make great pancakes.

The food was good. Nothing extraordinarily out of the "breakfast spot experience" realm/perspective. No complaints about the food. I would give 5 stars if it wasn't for the location (which makes parking a challenge) and it is not that big of a restaurant, so for those that are not that fond of small, crowded spaces, this might not be the spot for you...or come when it is not as super busy. Even with reservations, expect a wait. Overall not bad, just don't like the location, can feel pretty cramped when it's busy or ur dining with a large party.

Popular breakfast restaurant for SC and locals, most of the times a wait, parking s-cks so recommend walk, carpool or shareride...they have bancon pancakes (as in bacon bits in the pancakes!)

The food is very good and the server was excellent but the drop in stars is for one simple fact. 50 cents per 1 oz. of salsa is utterly ridiculous. I don't want to sound cheap but come on.

Patio seating was wonderful and cool. Assortment of high tops, large rounds and casual seats throughout. THIS PLACE IS SAFE. Everyone is wearing a mask, hand sanitizer available, single use cups, the list goes on and on but, Jack and Joe's in #COVIDSafe

Pro-Tip: Order the Combo #1 & make it a plus, that way you get pancakes and a full breakfast. (you could share this with another person but... you might be sad if they eat all of your pancakes)

Staff that helped my table: Zoen & Bunny

*At the time of writing, outdoor dining is required in California.

I love the food... Pancakes and potatoes are just the way I like em! They have turkey sausage as well. I always get combo #1, and my husband loves the breakfast burger! The service is always good. The reason I gave this place 4 stars is because the parking is horrendous! They wont seat your party unless everyone is there, so you cant even let someone wait for a space while you get the table. I understand it is a trendy breakfast place beside USC, so they probably expect most people to be on foot. But all in all a good breakfast place. Give it a shot. Uber if you can to avoid the parking altogether.

Service was attentive, food meh. I really don't understand all the great reviews on the food, it was mediocre at best. I had eggs, potatoes (they were good) and pancakes, and my man had an omelette and wasn't impressed.

Great breakfast, lots of unique dishes, friendly staff. Me and my wife were in town for a few days. I found this place the first day. My wife liked it so much we ate breakfast there every day. Parking is tough and your a little cramped for seating but that's just the way it is in L.A. Expect that going in and you'll be just fine.

so far so good....love the food ....but parking sucks. if you go there ask someone to drope you off and pick you up.... parking is like for ten cars only and the people waiting is like going to cheesecake factory...45 min wait

Uhm...I don't get why this place is popular. The parking is bad, the hostesses can't manage seating and there are so many rules (mostly about things they can't do, but they flip this to make it seem like we are too needy - pardon me for wanting to share a meal with 4 other family members). As for the food - there is nothing extra ordinary about it, in fact it is ordinary. Think roadside joint. The concept: a non-chain Denny's or IHOP. My recommendation, of to The Grinder down the road, the food has bit more flavor there.

Get here early you don't want to miss this fine establishment. Everything is great! Try all the pancakes and go for off the menu loaded hash browns or the #78 burrito designed by 78 himself Khaled Holmes.

Excellent food and many choices. Escargot is to kill for.
The service was very slow. Originally wouldn't provide separate bills for each couple, but eventually did

Got a bit noisy as the place filled up

Favorite place to go for breakfast. Wish I could have it at 9pm. Lol. Great staff. I always have a great conversation with our waiter/waitress. Anytime we're told it's a 45 mijnute wait we get in in about 15 min. Very on top of everything and the Totally LA is my favorite dish. Sidenote: I want one of their staff shirts.BAD. also wish they served more crepes with the order^.^

A wonderful breakfast in LA. Seconds away from the USC campus. The food is awesome and the portions are large. The customer service is outstanding and the prices are reasonable. I really love the french toast breakfast. Definately worth visiting for a laid back dining experience.

I had the French toast. It was good but nothing out of the ordinary. A bit noisy but it's expected as a breakfast brunch crowd tends to go out to eat and talk. Service was good and they also have a secret menu that I'm told will change my mind. Stay tuned.

Food is pretty bland and seemed to be cooked in a hurry. Menu on the website is wrong. Everything is actually $2-3 more and some sides are no longer included. Not worth the wait and cost if you ask me.

also amazing service as my friend and I ended up eating for free, totally unexpectedly after simply being nice to the store owner without even knowing he was the owner. just all super nice people
