Jack & Mike's Brickhouse Bar & Grille Review

First and last visit. Extremely dead for a Saturday! Unless you prefer being a bar fly this is your place.

The tortilla chips with our appetizer were stale, we ate them anyway because we were starving. During our appetizer no one came to check on us and $2.00 up charge for fries....seriously? The table behind us had issues as well, took forever for someone to come get a drink order and then the waiter forgot the straw...not once but TWICE....took over 15 min to get a straw???? Someone needs to get in there that knows how to manage a restaurant.

Excellent soups and salads! Friendly staff and patrons. New to area & have stopped in several times. Husband enjoys watching the Sunday football- go Saints!

Fish and chips were terrible... soggy batter fell off the cod , more chips than fish... Chicken Town does a better job. Service was great though...

Went here on my and my brothers birthday after a friend recommended it. We had two different servers, we had a party of 7. The servers showed up, we ordered our drinks and food. We got our appetizers from a food runner, did not get silverware. Our drinks were well empty at this point. our dinners came out, still no silverware or refills on drinks. I complained to one of the runners about no drinks or silverware. Also they messed up 3 of our orders. Eventually our servers showed up 5 minutes later for the second time of the night and finally gave us silverware and refills. I was so pissed off, because it was me and my brothers birthday. I hope they enjoyed the "Tip" I left them. Don't go here, the food wasn't even anything that special. Save the aggravation and go to Carrabbas, which is a minute away, instead. Worst Birthday dinner ever. How do you screw up that bad with two different servers?? Blows my mind.

First time diners. Good food, good atmosphere and very attentive waiters and waitresses. Ate in bar area. Will go back.

Just left there, was there three hours with a party of five for a birthday. The service was terrible. The bartenders left us sitting there, we were able to finally get two drinks in three hours, they were much too busy talking to all the male customers and gossiping with each other to pay any attention to us. We ordered bar pies, 2 bartender repeated order to us, 1 pie arrives, 5 maybe 7-8 minutes go by until we can get someone's attention to ask where our other pie is, they apologize, say they messed up, give us a free pie, doesn't come for another 15, no drinks, can't get anyone's attention. Finally get drinks, glasses are empty all around us, we need refills again, all the glasses stay empty on each side of us for twenty minutes while we watch the bartender talking, and texting. We decided to not get another drink and get our check and leave, still no one has asked us if we want refills, 10 minutes go by finally we go down the bar to get her to ask for our check. Bar wasn't that crowded, by any means. So frustrating the level of service provided to customers there. Will never go back.

Food was excellent and the service was good. 1st time there. I will be going back. Big portions

They are a gluten free menu, not just options. Good food and more importantly beer list is solid.

Great place to hang out, have a burger, a beer, a rib roast of beef, or some fish. Very comfortable environment. The onion rings are a specialty!

Excellent gluten free menu with many options. The gf crab cakes are amazing. I'm very sensitive to gluten and have never had a reaction.

Great prime rib special nights on Thursday! Food is always delicious. GF menu is extensive. Our waitress Elizabeth was so kind and attentive.

Fair warning that this place transitions into a local dive bar after about 10pm, complete with loud patrons shooting pool, talking endlessly about sports, and playing bad music on the jukebox. This is not so bad if you are into this sort of thing (or don t mind being around it), otherwise you may wish to consider a different spot. I personally had no idea of this, but decided to stick around anyway.

That said, the food was very good. While they did technically bring out chicken wings instead of the chicken fingers that I ordered, the staff was very apologetic and offered to swap them out. I declined the offer and stuck to the wings, which I m glad I did.

In summary, if you re looking for decent food with a cool staff and don t mind a little late night debauchery, go ahead and check it out.

Staff is always friendly, food is always great and the price is right. One of our favorite go to places in the area.

Our waitress, Jackie, was so great. She was sweet and helpful and made amazing suggestions that were delicious. Food came out fast and was so good! I'll definitely be back!

Good beer specials. Prime rib was not very good - seemed to be pre-frozen portions and not tender or flavorful

I had a Cadillac Burger at the bar, it was delicious. The beer that I ordered was cold and tasted fine, but my friend ordered a Tangeray and Tonic, and he wasn't happy with it. I tasted it, it was off. The tonic dispenser must be messed up, the drink tasted lousy.

Loaded fries are too thin! Dry and no flavor. The brown gravy tastes like it came right ftom the can. The mozzarella sticks are average and the marina is horrible! Again straight from the jar. In todays day and age if you cant make a fantastic marinara from scratch, you deserve to have a 4 rating and go out of business. With the competition in this town, if youre not a 5, youre done! Shape up quick!

Service was terrible,messed my order up twice.3rd time they got it rite.Food was terrible.Then sat at the bar,bar tenders ignore you unless they know you or you buy them shots.First time at a bar we're the bar tenders drink more then you!!Will not go back,strongly suggest to not patronize this establishment!!!

A usual place for a large group get together. We love the early bird meal specials. Drink specials are great. Always accommodating, with handicapped guests - Service is always wonderful.

There are no words for this place they are the best restaurant in ocean county hands off down. First the entire menu is large and pages long and almost every single thing they have can be made gluten free. Such as fried calamari, fish and chips, chicken parmesan, etc. If you are gluten free you have to go to this place there food is delicious and they have a book of options on their gluten free menu. Gluten free pizza, chicken dishes, fish dishes, tacos, quesadillas, etc. Basically anything you could think of they have it gluten free and it tastes amazing and is affordable! Way ahead of their time I'm so happy I finally stopped here ! The service was excellent as well and one of the best waiters I've ever had in my life. They also have a couple of pool tables, a bar, and loads of TV's. The place is outstanding!

Appearance: Average NJ done bar type restaurant. Food: Above average and quite good. Price: Average pricing. Negatives: loud music by the bar randomly. Enjoyed the service. Personally weird vibe but good spot

Food was just ok. Waitress didn't even tell us it was happy hour. The only good thing was they have bud light lime!

We've been regulars for YEARS! The bar area gets noisy, but the other areas are comfortable, the staff attentive, and the food is always fresh, plentiful, and reasonably priced and a great value.

My rating is three stars for the atmosphere. In a word...boring. The place was half empty. The patrons who were there seemed to be extras from a zombie movie. I didn't try their food but friends' meals looked decent. Will give it another go around.

This is one of our favorite Beer and Burger places. Food is always good and consistent, and the servers are always smiling and friendly!
Get the Fried Green beans appetizer! My current favorite is the Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap, its so big you will not be able to finish it!

They are handling Covid-19 very well. Large outdoor dining area. Shaded well with tents and umbrellas. Tables are at least 6 foot apart. Service and food was great.
