Really friendly staff, took the time to answer my questions and those of my son who accompanied me. They were happy to give advice on cooking methods and happy to fillet the fish in front of you or prepare it in whatever way you need. Very impressive to watch! Large selection of fish, some can be ordered in if required. Lovely quiet little shop on the marina. Will definitely go again :)

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff, amazing range of fresh fish and shellfish prepared in minutes any way you want it, de-scaled, skinned, filleted, on or off the bone. Well organised one person being served and one waiting behind a barrier, everyone else queuing outside. If you know what you want you can pre-order for collection which is quicker and probably more guaranteed to have what you require.

Just finished a big platter if muscles with my family. Cooked in cider and creme freche with home grown garden peas and leeks. Beautiful. All the muscles were big and juicy and a lovely bright orange. Stumbled across this place today but will be going back for their next pop up restaurant!

The best fish shop so far in England. I have been moving a lot in this area, between Bournemouth and Portsmouth, and even though I was able to find fish they never had the variety and freshness that I can find in JS fresh fish .....when I am there I need time to make my kind and they are really kind to wait. They even sell one of the best brand of italian pasta....the only 0lase in Southampton where I can find pasta Garofolo

What a lovely fish market this place is, friendly staff and owners. The shop was so neat and clean. Choice of fish and seafood was amazing. Easy to find, just enter Shamrock Quay and drive to the end where they have parking spaces outside the shop.

Incredible selection of frequent and specialist fish, all beautifully fresh or freshly frozen. Knowledgeable, interested staff flexibly catering for individual needs. Excellent value for money and meticulous care for hygiene. Can't wait to go back but I'll have to eat this lot first.

The best wet fish shop in Southampton, they also deliver. The frozen king prawns are great value. There's always a wide choice of fresh fish, oysters and clams.

Visited while on a short break in the area. High quality fresh fish with very welcoming and polite service. Happy to clean the fish for us ready for barbecuing. Would definitely recommend. There was a good selection out in the shop but also worth ringing ahead if you're after something specific (and perhaps a little less common).

The people who work are knowledgeable; helpful and demonstrate pride in their work going the extra mile. The waterfront location is easily accessible and their locally sourced promise ensures fewer degrees of seperation from your food source.

Beautiful fresh fish. Not such a great choice early in the week, but on Friday and Saturday you can expect a good range of products. Live crabs and lobsters available, and dressed crab too (although the crabs were the most expensive I have seen anywhere in the last year!). Other than mussels and scallops there have been no shellfish for sale each time I have been there.

I have only just found this little gem by accident. it s tucked out the way around the back of the estate. fantastic selection of fish and great customer service. Clean, quality food and they re ready to help. There really isn t many places like this left. I high recommend a visit

Absolutely legendary shop. Such helpful staff! Super friendly from as soon as we got in the shop, and went well and truly above and beyond to get everything I wanted and more. I'm new to the area and this is such a find. Amazing fresh fish with a locally caught offer too. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, go to the end of Shamrock Quays and you won't miss it (parking outside the shop).

I drive allot in my Job; when I'm near the sea I often pick up some seafood. I can honestly say this is the best fishmongers I've visited between Plymouth and Portsmouth. I bought lobster, white fish, scallops and oysters. All very fresh, good quality, good sized produce. There is a huge selection so I will need to go again. The shashimi grade tuna flank looked amazing, as did the massive tiger prawns.

Made a trip from Swindon using our Electric Car. We purchased some Hake which was fantastic. Customer service was excellent. Price per kg was good value.

As a devout fish fan finding this shop,for me, was like entering Alladins cave, a wonderful selection of the freshest fish. The staff are helpful, and will fillet and pin bone if required, nothing is too much trouble, well worth a visit.

Very nice shop, as well as Fish they have fresh Crab and Lobster. They also have locally sourced bakery products and a small range of fresh fruits and vegetables. This is the second time I purchased fish from J&S

Bought tuna steaks a few weeks ago and they were superb.

Just bought mussels, jumbo prawns, mackerel and more Samphire. Going to have a fish feasting weekend.

I highly recommend visiting this local venue and buying some of their local produce.

Staff are super friendly and helpful and they will cook your lobster for you if you are worried about cooking it, but your mum desperately wants fresh lobster, result. That s next weekend sorted.

Brought 2 sides of salmon which was nice and chunky nothing like the supermarket quality. Staff very friendly and helpful. You can order ahead so literally you are collecting if it's a big order it's ready to pick up.

It s a great experience shopping here. This week we had a dozen oysters, I ate all of them followed by fresher than fresh Plaice which was beautiful and today have just finished skate wings, all with samphire. Try the onions in balsamic from the deli, had those with the oysters, bliss. Other half had whelks, whilst I hoovered up the oysters, said they were beautiful. We will be back next week!

It was the first time that I've visited J&S after I heard good things from friends. This is definitely the best place to buy fresh fish in the area. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, the shop is clean and stocked with a variety of products to accompany all fish dishes! The scallops I bought today were huge and succulent and the tuna sashimi was very affordable and fresh. Would definitely recommend this place to fish lovers!

I love this shop ,and visit weekly, a fabulous selection of fresh and shellfish. The staff are helpful ,and the polish guy is amazing at preparing your fish ready to cook. Nothing is too much trouble!
