Friendly staff, however, they really need to clean the pool more often. I also wish they'd have more adult swim times.

If you want supreme service in the daycare facilities, look no further than here! The child care supervisor named Aaron is a rock star with the kids! I have observed him several times interacting with kids and he is absolutely amazing! You can tell he comes from a loving home the way he treats them!
The after school program is ok but the camp is not runned very good at times. It was more like bootcamp. Some of the counselors behave very unprofessional. The way they treat some of the children is appauling. I've walked in several times and witnessed them screaming at certain children. Some of the counselors pick on the kids by name calling. That's not right! And the attitudes of some staff.... Just terrible!!!! They need a cleansing.
Wow.. 7/8/20 the lady who sit at the front desk so mean I want to cancel my membership right the way but the staff near front door so nice and helpful..!!
Friendly staff and good variety of equipment. Wish there was more room to stretch in the first floor cardio room - it gets crowded if there's anymore than three people in the area. But overall very happy with the facility!
Due to Covid-19 this place has very good safety precautions. They check your temperature right when you enter and has a lot of disinfecting wipe stations scattered around the place. I really enjoy the new system of making a appointment everytime you want to go to practice safe distancing. I was afraid of a over crowding gym but that just made me feel secured and safe. As a person that only workouts for a hour and the time limit being 75 minutes, I really enjoyed my stay at this gym. Kind staff!!!
The front desk is the rudest most everyone acts like they hate their jobs. And they believe the residents. But that's my experience
Horrible customer service. They charged me without giving a notice that they are opening during pandemic and when I called a lady arrogantly said we sent an email that we are opening back up even thou we didn t receive any email or the phone call. Especially during these hard times, YMCA is showing it s corporate greed.
This YMCA is defnitelity the worst I've ever been to in the city of Chicago. Starting off with the awful location and people that go there. Inside it is extremely dirty and looks liek a bunch of mules run the place. Not to mention the staff is awful and gave me a rough time. Just to sign in as a guest from another YMCA, they deemand a copy of a drivers license stating so they could read the information to my local YMCA. However i wrote all my Information on Paper that they could have read to my local YMCA so a copy of a Drivers License is unneccesary and rude. This gym sucks plain and simple with awful equipment as well.
Horrible - Terrible!!!! The swimming teachers have NO PATIENCE with kids ages (3-4)!! GRACE was one of the teachers and she didn't know how to teach my son at all!!! They're so unprofessional! I really don't recommend this place at all...
Love basketball.
Love practicing there and working on my game
Love their gym.
Really like this place. We come here to swim. Swimming lessons can be a bit expensive but my kid needs it. The staff are really helpful. I'd recommend this place.
Fun fitness place. It was convenient and many other shops were nearby.
Less than adequate facility, everything need to be updated. The changing room was unpleasant to be in too, mainly because it was dirty.
Very friendly and professional staff at the front desk.
Great weight room, very cool concept and piece of history. Weight room has a a slight cigarette smoke odor that seems to have improved my since my first visit.

Went there for the first time Saturday morning 09/29/18. Great place to workout. Was not packed at all. It feels like a maze for 1st time goers.
Good luck getting your money back! I was overcharged as I was billed a non member rate for my daughter summer camp and when I asked about it they made up a reason rather than look into why. I trusted the girl at the front desk and then two weeks later found out about being charged non member rate. I went today to get my money back and was told they would return money but they have no idea when I will ever see the money returned to my card! I asked for a timeframe like a month? She said maybe two months.
A great place to get your exercise on with friends and staff.
A great neighbor place with a great history. It's a older facility and I wish the swimming pool was better butnoverall.provides something valuable to the community. Have met many very nice caring people - my classmates and some of the staff.
Very clean facility, great great staff very welcoming, various options in fitness classes
I think the YMCA Is great! I love the staff. I do wish there was a bigger area to stretch as well as maybe a studio room where you could do some workouts with a friend. There is a small space downstairs in the Bears Den but it can be too crowded sometimes. Very friendly. It is large, the cardio eqipment is up to date! Great place to work out- comfortable. And feels very safe. The Zumba class with Zac and Tyler and spinning classes are great! I think the eqipment should be cleaned more often though. I love coming here overall!
We came once since the pools in ymca were closed.very dirty, not accessible to stroller, pool closes frequently due to private parties, so members can not really use the pool. One small pool cold water lots of chlorine. Leaning tower much much better
They advertise reciprocity with other YMCAs but do not fulfill that promise.
I was very impressed. The center has the charm and character of an older YMCA. It s also got much more and better equipment than I had expected. I visited during COVID, and the cleanliness and customer service far surpassed what I had expected. Adding a few pictures here to help show a bit more of what s available.
Looks like a high school straight out of the 1930s. But that's only because it's one of the oldest Y's in Chicago! Has all the essentials but could use some updating.
A former training facility for the Chicago Bears, this is one of the few where you can see the Y's mission at work in the adjoining affordable housing as you head over for your workout. Even though the facility is slowly becoming more and more modernized, the building's old-fashioned layout lends itself well to exploration--request a tour of the facility if you fear getting lost! Camaraderie and a laid-back attitude is what you will find here, along with classes and activities that appeal to both men and women: Jenn's Intermediate PiYo class is one of the best examples of this, as it appeals to anyone looking to enjoy a great workout without the fear of judgement, or self-consciousness.
Really hate being kicked out of the basketball gym for activities
Its garbage worst place people get in truouble and you do to! :(
Gyms are always closed even though the schedule says it s supposed to be open and they are mostly dirty most of the time
Weight and cardio equipment is in decent shape. The gym is older and has the expected wear and tear for it's its age. Overall the staff is friendly, and you can't beat the price.
Great place to workout. Friendly staff with above average customer service. Fantastic and diversified culturally!! Everyone is friendly.
Great place for parents! Daycare for your little ones while you work out. Tons of equipment and never a wait!
Just returned after my COVID hiatus. Very good system for keeping everyone safe and cleaning facilities. Thank you for making sure we have a place to work out this winter! Same friendly YMCA experience.
Sure, this is an old Y. And they don t keep the shower areas as clean as the leaning tower. But as for location what more could you ask for? Its right at the junction of the Edens and Kennedy xpressway, a block from the Irving Park CTA Blue line, and the Metra has a stop even closer.
This place is a great deal. It has everything you need in a gym, plus a basketball court and pool. They will also watch your kids while you work out. Not many places can match these amenities and price.
don't send you're kids to summer camp there , major problem..
Could use some updating in bathrooms, otherwise a great YMCA
Great place to lift and do cardio with a great community
Convenient location on relatively fast street. Basketball courts, racquetball, pool, modest weight room, plenty of machinery to run, stair-step or walk. Large parking lot with plenty of spaces. All this for monthly $51 fee. Only complaint is that towels are not included.
I was living in their residential portion (due to poverty) for about nine months, the staff were very surly and disrespectful to me, especially when I used the gym portion, though it was part of my rent they acted as if I should be quarantined from the rest of humanity.
The residential director at the time was a hysterical drama queen who spent more of his time selling romance books out of the trunk of his car and using the company's internet to promote said books on social media.
I was evicted and lies were told about me while I was in traction after a very bad car accident, they detailed a list of actions and incidents which did not take place, since I was unable to ambulate or even use a telephone well for most of the alleged in-person warnings and incidents, let alone all of these alleged meetings that took place to warn me about my upcoming ejection from the facility.
I was also accused of stealing a microwave, and the illegal room search that ensued in my absence led to quite a bit of my personal property being thrown in the garbage, which I had to fish out of the dumpster.
Hanging out in the common room on the bottom floor you can be treated to criminal activity ranging from LINK fraud, bullying and outright violence.
If you love your Grandpa, don't let him live here.
Thais Is the worst YMCA , the windows are all closed so the smell is awful, I worked out for 10 minutes because I was about to puke. Disgusting., On top of that everything looks old and dirty.
