I highly recommend staying in this hostel! Out of the countless hostels I stayed at in Southeast Asia, this one was the best. It's very clean. The beds are comfortable and are equipped with curtains. There's a nice common area and the bathrooms are clean and spacious. The most important reason to stay at Iron Inn is the staff though. They are super nice and helpful.

The bed was very comfy and the bathrooms/showers were squeaky clean. The place has a nice little indoor patio seating area overlooking the main road. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Chinatown but also close to the main attractions in the city.
The only main issue I had was with the staff member that checked me in. All he did was give me a key, show me my bed, and told me when breakfast was. He didn t show me where the showers/bathrooms were located and that you need to buzz out to get out of the building and where those buzzards were located. The rooms are also small and they have three leveled bunk beds so be aware you might need to climb. Also, the ceilings are made of metal so if you get the top bunk, all light will be reflected on you so make sure to bring a sleeping mask just in case.
The staff are very nice and incredibly friendly. They tend to give off a feel of just hanging out and having a good time rather than just doing a job. You can tell they enjoy meeting and talking to people.

Although crammed in the rooms, the beds were comfy and came with private curtains. Some bunks are triple bunks so not as easy to get up and down during the night and can see into other beds. A/C was good. Bathrooms were clean and not crowded. Breakfast was good in common area which is also good. Location is on a busy street right next to shops etc. There is not much space between each of the beds and locker won't store larger bags so can crowded on the floors.

Great experience as a budget hostel. Convenient location, great rooms (air conditioned, sufficiently dark and private for sleeping, comfortable beds), incredibly helpful and nice staff. Will definitely book again if I return to KL.

This is the first time I have ever stayed in a hostel in Malaysia. The last two months travelling across the country with friends from China and Vietnam I've been staying exclusively in 3* and 4* hotels, until yesterday at the Furama Hotel Bukit Bintang. So I had absolutely no idea what my experience would be with a hostel!

Having checked in yesterday the overriding takeaway so far is that everything about Iron Inn Hostel has not just exceeded but blown away my expectations.

Firstly: great location on a cool little corner at the end of Jalan Sultan.
Secondly: exceptional quality of welcome and customer care from Ivy, who blows out of the water the front desk experience even at the Grand Hyatt or Westin.
Thirdly: interior design is fabulous. Beautiful, funky and functional. Lovely balcony space overlooking Jalan Sultan. Great bathrooms. Everything is super clean. Bravo to the owners and staff.
4. Beds are incredible with personal lights, power sockets and curtains. Very comfy. Nice duvet. Slept for 10 hours. Great.
5. Breakfast is an extensive spread of eggs, hot dog sausages, toast and jams plus fruit and fruit juice. Frankly I'm speechless.

I'll continue to update this review but for my first ever hostel experience in Malaysia I am amazed. Well done!

Best hostel I have stay in Malaysia during the who...

Best hostel I have stay in Malaysia during the whole trip in northern Malaysia. The workers are all super helpful and friendly. They started breakfast early when I have to leave early. The old lady who works in the morning is funny and have valuable advice about traveling Malaysia. She can tell you what is good and what to cut out. It is a great place for jetlegged people. I woke up at 2am and there was still food outside. The curtains help to sleep. The breakfast in the morning is a great place to meet people. They sell some cold drinks and snacks and it is same price as outside. The place is very clean. They have a small area outside to dry a few place of clothes. They actually wash the blanket. I am planning to return back. There is a local flea market that opens at 4am to 6am right on the street.

Lovely staff, Chris and all of the people working here are really helpful , quiet rooms, free towel. Not a money making scheme like some places, but a good honest hostel! Wonderful and very friendly staff , nice welcome, a comfortable bed, nice travellers we had some nice chat and then a quiet peaceful sleep
