Coming from LA this was a great atmosphere and I would definitely come back when I'm in town!
Coming from LA this was a great atmosphere and I would definitely come back when I'm in town!
One of the best venues in Alabama to see any show. Great view of the stage, anywhere you stand. In my experience, several times a year, the bartenders are on point. I enjoy coming in before a show and eating dinner. Great menu and drink options.
Can't go wrong with a night at Iron City.
(Unless I dressed up like a pubescent, hormonal spiderman or a gun-slingin' Barney Fife)
We (Meta Fitness Studio) have used Iron City for our "New Year, New You" fundraiser for 6 years and each and every year, it seems to get better. The venue is fantastic and is always a great setting for our event, but what makes this place so special is the people that make it work. Everyone involved, the planners, the lighting, sound, bartenders, cleanup crew...EVERYONE involved is professional, courteous, and committed to doing the job right. It's been a wonderful 6 years with my friends at Iron City and I hope it's another 60 more! Cheers and thank you for all you do!
Love the sound inside and how cozy it is but i wish there was a way to be able to actually see the stage when your short. Missed the whole show cause i couldn't see, no matter where i stood.
Great intimate venue, convenient access to the bar while the band is playing. Bar tenders were very nice, helpful and friendly. Prices are not over inflated like they are at so many other venues. Band we saw played an acoustic set as well as their normal metal sound and the sound was great for both. Will definitely be going back to see other acts in the future.
Good venue, clean and good bartender service. Good sound from the stage
This is a a very cool place to see headliner bands .
Great place for a concert. Best in BHM. Just recently went to Marilyn Manson. Awesome show btw. Only problem was 1 security guard in particular, older black gentlemen with a black hat. Very rude, thinks he's too flight security of the world. Even tried to get an officer to kick me out for standing in line to buy a drink, the officer walked off btw hahaha
Enough of that, fantastic place. Great for BHM
Have had great experiences here seeing several show's over the past few years. Courteous staff and nice venue.
I have always had a great time at Iron City. It can get crowded at times, but that s to be expected with the great artists they have performing here on a regular basis. I love the upstairs vip option overlooking the stage and outdoor smoking patio! I don t smoke so I love not having to breath in smoke the whole time. The bathrooms are super nice, clean, and large. Also, I ve always felt safe here because they have extra security and Birmingham police officers on duty; especially at bigger events/artists.
High quality venue with plenty of space for standing and sitting. The employees (bartenders & security) all demonstrate a high degree of professionalism. Great sounding speakers for live acts. Overall, a great atmosphere.
We always love the more personal experience when going to see concerts. This is the pace to go. More music, less "Show" and better vibes.
The best Music venue in Alabama. Have went to several shows there. More of a personalized setting to see your favorite bands. Good security, good food, and drinks.
We saw Anderson East here recently and really enjoyed the layout of the venue.
This venue is amazing! There isn't a bad spot in the house to catch a show! I've been to a lot of places for concerts, and this was definitely one of my all time favorites!
The absolute best venue I've ever been to for a concert.
Such a cool venue! I live out of town and took my mom to see Laine Hardy here. The sound quality is amazing and there isn t a bad seat in the house!! The stage is set up like a large venue, but it s pretty intimate and not big at all.... Awesome!
Great venue. Sound engineers knew what they were doing and Chvrches put on a fantastic show! If you re vertically challenged like myself, general admission shows tend to be frustrating. The area we were standing at is about 5 feet or so above the pit area that s directly in front of the stage. There was a guard rail we were able to lean against and I had an unobstructed view! The bartenders were very prompt and friendly even though I had overheard security say there were about 1100 people in attendance. Restrooms (and the whole venue really) were surprisingly clean as well. It wasn t hot either. For that many people, you d expect the a/c to struggle, but we were comfortable.
Great place for show or to eat great food great place to meet
My first time and it was alot of fun. Very beautiful place and large patio area out back to smoke.
One of the best venues in town. Always try to eat on the grill side before a show. Great menu and can walk in from grill into the venue.
Great small venue, gives you that "back to the beginning" feeling where rock bands started. Very comfortable, the staff stayed on top of things.
Excellent room. I was in town and saw The Wood Brothers a few nights back. Great sound, very crisp, not too loud. You can tell they put a lot of forethought into the audio engineering. An even better selection of locally brewed beers. Will definitely be back for another show some time. Well done, Birmingham.
Fast service, good security, and great view of awesome artists! Black Jacket Symphony/Queen's A Night at the Opera
Really enjoy Iron City. The room is large, and the sound is good (not great). The security can be a little excessive and the wait at the bar is often long. Still a good place to see a show.
Great bar, better venue. Large enough for a big crowd, band, the works.. For a large wedding reception, this is a great place
Live going here the place is safe and clean I have a broke foot and the staff made a place so I could sit and watch the concert, I've been 6 times and will keep going to Iron City as long as I'm alive . Great concerts. Thanks Keep Rocking.
Ticket checker lady was a total witch. Bar never clears. People talk during quiet songs.
Jesse McCartney was amazing! We had VIPS and they didn't open the doors till 6:15 when Q&A was supposed to be going on. It was disorganized! Over all I enjoyed the concert! The place it self was not happy of for my 1st concert.
Our second year of having our Company Christmas Party at Iron City...it's been terrific! Good food and good service!
Drinks were reasonable but it's a little tight with the standing room only. However you are close to the band.
Best concert Venue I ve ever attended, hands down. Great view, sound and atmosphere. Staff was friendly, thorough and professional. Will definitely be back.
I've actually been to a few really good shows here.
I have been to Iron City 2x recently...to see Puddles the Clown and to see TMBG. I like the space except for the fact that there is not seating available except in the upper balcony areas. At TMBG, one of the upper areas was roped off. The stage is small and the floor in front of it makes for a up close and personal experience, but I guess I am old school and thus I prefer the opportunity to sit and enjoy. If you don't mind standing, and like a small venue where there really isn't a bad view from wherever you happen to be standing, then this is the place for you. Also it's relatively easy to find free parking if you don't mind a bit of hoofing.
Venue is small, no free seating, but the event bar is great. Tried to get help at the full menu bar during the same visit, which had a load of staff and no customers, but was ignored. Good for concert, so so for other.
Love the venue, love the music acts they book, just wish it was easier to park and that some shows are cheaper. No real complaints other than that
Iron City was awesome. It's a nice intimate venue in the heart of Birmingham AL. The staff was courteous and friendly. Also Tank and the Bangas was amazing there! Also try out Iron City Grill, the restaurant next door!
It was such an amazing venue. Hippie Sabotage rocked out and we had a meet & greet in the back. So happy we found this spot.
Watched the UAB bowl game on the big screen. The Event and the staff was great.
Old crow was amazing, venue has a very hard working staff.
The only steak choice was "the cut of the day" but the food was good and the music was awesome.. Midland rocked it!
as far as a music venue, it's awesome. Acoustics are good and the band sits up on the stage which is higher than the audience and makes it possible for everyone to see. Easy to get in and the bartenders gave quick service.
Parking is a nightmare. There is a city lot you can go to but it fills up fast and is expensive for parking. The venue by itself is good and the staff is great. Only 3 stars because of location/parking.
Love watching live music at this venue! As the Crow Flies and Avatar were two of my favorite bands to perform here so far.
Great place to go to. Colt Ford was awesome. Very clean and the workers are nice looking to going back
Great menu farm to table, attentive service, and excellent drink selection.
Great place. Any where u are in this venue is still close to the stage, great atmosphere, great fun!
Omg! Love this venue. When you get to be so close to the stage, amazing!! Saw Chevelle live. Best place for people who have problems with large crowds.
Nice place. Got a bit aggravated when we stood in line for a long time only to find out it was the wrong one. There was no one telling anyone which was which.
Absolutely bangin. I mean, it is in the city, and the building does have iron in it. So you can't say you aren't getting what you paid for.
Security is out of control. Paid for VIP seating. They didn't want to let me up there. God forbid you buttons on your cargo shorts. These guys really need to get a hold of the drones on power trips
Not a bad place for a show. Big stage and a great sound. My review was good, but when I looked at my banking and I was charged $10 on my card instead of the $6 in which I was told for a coke and water it really let me down. If I didn't have tickets for two upcoming shows, I would definitely not be going back. I do not know the bartenders name, but he is definitely a no class loser.
