Iowa City VA Health Care System Reviews

I'm just happy to have health insurance that I can use at other health facilities rather than the VA. If you have major health concern I would not recommend going to the VA to be seen. In my opinion I don't think the VA has capability to save your life if you are in need of an emergency surgery. This is from my past experience as well as speaking with other veterans who had bad experience at the VA hospitals.

I feel that the VA hospital in Iowa City, Iowa is good for prescribing medicine, getting eye glasses or dealing with problems that are not life threatening. Since being a patient with the VA hospital in Iowa City, Iowa my experience has not be all good. I can date this back to 2007 to present.

This is my opinion and this is how I feel about the VA. I'm happy for the veterans who had good experience with the VA and good luck to the people who are still struggling VA.

They have a great commitment to excellence and caring for the patient and I trust them with metaled, my family, and my kids. That says a lot and it's gets all that needs to be said. Great organization with good doctors and top notch nurses

I went to Iowa City VA, today for the COVID-19 Vaccination, and was very happy with the way everything was none. Everyone was very good about the jobs they did. Everyone had a great attitude. I was in and out in 30 minutes. I will give the every person a 10! THEY ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST

Thx for having covid vaccine event with hundreds of people in line next to each other! U must be desperate for business to prey on these people that served America! If u r health care no one could put people six feet apart?

I discharged during the Reagan regime and have avoided using the VA health care system until recently and the quality of the food has improved from MRE status and the quality of the actual health care far far better than ever. However getting an out of system doctor is like trying to steal crypto codes from the Russians.

I am very disappointed by the way the Women s Clinic handled the notification of the death of my physician Dr. Jonnalagadda. I received a letter in the mail in November saying she left the Iowa City VA. I asked another provider why she left, the provider told me she hadn t left that she unexpectedly passed away. I was in shock she was my physician for 8 years and a very loving and caring woman who really cared about her patients and to be told she just left.
Please learn from this that patients count and can handle the truth rather than lies and to think their physician just left without explanation.

These Drs and Nurses were the most courteous, professional and skilled individuals I've ever seen. They treated me like the President. They performed an emergency brain surgery on me. They saved my life...I am writing a letter about this amazing hospital with tears in my eyes. Dr. HLAVIN is a Godsend. I love them all...they allowed me to be there for my girls again. I can't say enough about them. Thank u all for letting me get to see my family again.

Endocrinologists and lab personnel and the whole staff are most helpful and caring.

The staff here at the Iowa City VA are phenomenal. I had my Thyroid removed and all the Doctors involved talked to me and answered all my questions. My two nurses I had was Lauren and Max and both of them did a phenomenal job.

I have been treated for urology and metastatic bone cancer. The doctors and the care is excellent. However oncology uses inexperienced fellows to treat vets. The people should not be trusted. They are new and go ve out faulty information. Ask for their senior supervisor, an experienced oncologist.
