I was very impressed with the Courteous staff and the doctor And the promptness I would recommend this facility.

The staff, nurses and doctors are the absolute best! Everyone always takes time to explain everything and make sure my questions are answered!

I don't share my experience's on Google unless they are either really good or really bad. In this case its very Good! I've only seen Dr. Schmidt and whatever staff I run into along the way. All the people I've met have been amazing from the front Desk to the Nurses who chat with me and take my blood. Ever since I turned 40 Ive had some very strange health issues that took me all the way to the mayo clinic with no help. Most Dr. I saw along the way had nothing to offer and some were right down horrible. One I believe might have been a sadist - see one of my previous reviews if you happen to be going to a neurologist in the Des Moines area.

However Dr. Schmidt not only helped me but he took time to listen to me...even about things that had nothing to do with his specialty - things General practitioners and specialists all along the way failed to do. But more importantly offered advice very solid advice and actual help. He thought outside the box as was needed because some of my symptoms were outside the box of western medicines ability so it appears. And even the symptoms I had that were in his field strayed from the path of what is "normal".

The staff are friendly and caring - he actually cares about people he takes time to listen. Your not just a copay here. He is not so young that he doesn't know anything and he is not so old that he forgot what he once knew....This man, this Dr. may even have a soul.

I will give the mayo clinic a little credit on spending time with me and listening but where they lacked was in actual help or ideas or treating me like a person. That being said it was also a zoom meeting in the middle of a pandemic, but I have no reason to think an in person meeting would have had any better results. I can currently snap my fingers without pain knock on wood that continues. He is the only Dr. that didn't look at me like I was crazy while I attempted to self diagnose. But when all Dr's fail you that's all you can do. Be well everyone and don't give up.

Large facility with a small town atmosphere. All were helpful and efficient.

Always a pleasant experience. Everyone in the office is very professional and friendly!!

Dr. Pittman is always so kind and takes time to go over my history and meds. I've gone there for several years and he's always willing for me to try and decrease my meds. He's always so knowledgeable in my case.

The phone service is very very poor. If you even call it a service

This office is one of a kind, they are efficient, the wait time is always short and the nurses are always Friendly

An excellent clinic, everyone is professional, smiling and caring. I see Dr. Erik Swenson (have for 6+ years). So knowledgeable, thorough and pleasant. Highly recommend!

This practice runs on time. Very limited wait time but I always feel like I have their full attention and all the time I need.

Dr. Craig is wonderful and explained in detail my dx. I learned so much and he discussed various treatment options for me.

Dr. Roncar is an excellent Dr. who I have gone to for 14 years. Also, his nurse Lynnette, who is retiring has really been an excellent nurse!!

Dr. Kristin Harts is absolutely one of the finest physicians. Her listening skills, medical guidance and compassionate delivery is "old fashioned" wonderful care. The rest of the professionals delivered the same fashion of service. I receive care for my Osteoporosis!

Excellent care throughout the process. I was able to be seen the same day to help alleviate hip pain. The staff was thoughtful and helpful. The nurse took notes and recorded information. Dr. Ronker took great care of me.

Personable and professional. Genuinely care about my health, privacy.

Dr Burdt has been my Dr. for many years! Never have I felt rushed! He's very concerned about your care, respectful, caring, answers your questions, friendly, offers suggestions to make things better and very understanding! I would highly recommend him!

I've been a patient at IAOC for more than 20 years, I believe. I've always had wonderful care from a knowledgeable & compassionate staff. In knowing that I'll most likely be coming here for appointments & treatments 6 times a year for the rest of my life, this is very comforting to me.

Everyone is so helpful and courteous. My doctor and the nurses are wonderful. They listen and truly care about the patients.

Dr Eric Swenson and his staff are some of the best I ve been to. Professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

All of the staff, doctors, nurses and techs very helpful and friendly. My symptoms are mild so I may not be back soon...but I would most def go again I d/when the need arises.

Dr. Gilg has been my doctor for many years. He and the staff have been nothing but professional, kind, and caring to me. Dr. Gilg has always listened to my concerns, offered his learned advice and has never questioned my decisions when I wanted to try something different. I respect him immensely and would recommend him highly especially if you suffer from Fibromyalgia.

Extremely unprofessional people.

After getting several xrays and seeing a Orthopedist they referred my here to see a Rheumatologist. After waiting about a week I called to check up on the progress of my appointment and asked if they needed any paperwork. They said no and it may take a week. I called a week and a half later they said they now needed paperwork from my pcp. I have permission to get it and called my pcp s nurse to let her know what they needed. They called the following Tuesday and left me a voicemail saying we can t help you. I told my orthopedist s nurse what they said and she told me to try and get clarification on why they couldn t see me because orthopedist wants to know. I called and asked why, cause orthopedist was sending me to see a Rheumatologist there. they said my pcp was doing what needed to be done. I asked if they could clarify what they meant cause my pcp wasn t doing anything (which is true). They kept repeating the same stuff over and over refusing to answer me. I asked what should I tell my orthopedist hey said they left a voicemail. I said I m going to call her what should I say. They repeated that they left a voicemail. I called and told the orthopedist s nurse and told her what they said. She said that is weird and she doesn t have any voicemail or email messages.

A waste of time.

Everyone, from the personnel at entry to the receptionist, to the in-room nurse and the check-out person were personable, helpful and thorough. Dr. Craig is amazing - he explains my test results in terms that are easy to understand and answers my questions and concerns patiently. He made me feel like I was his only patient for the day and is genuinely invested in my health. My wait time in the waiting room and exam room were minimal so I feel that they value my time. Would highly recommend this facility for your healthcare concerns!

Dr Steve Craig was excellent. Asked questions, did an exam and gave his diagnosis and prescibed treatment. Very impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. Also very patient and caring. I've never been to a better doctor!

Excellent office with quality physicians and staff!

dr,ronker is great, and all there are great. only thing i dont like is check in the hole process takes forever and have to stand behind a line witch is intimedating.

Cannot understand the negative comments from some of the responders... I have been a patient since the mid-nineties, and have never ever had a bad experience here... Everyone has always been kind and considerate. Would recommend this Center to everyone who needs this type care.

I have been to this Center a couple times. This appointment I was seen by a physicians assistant. You can get in quicker when you do this if you don't necessarily need the doctor's expertise for that appointment. They were courteous and helpful. They referred to see a physical therapist and water therapy. The PA was also able to speak with the doctor to get her opinion on the matter which is always good. I would recommend this Center to others.

I always get excellent care here. Dr. Burdt not only knows my medical history, he take the time to know things about me and thoroughly explains information relevant to my visit. His NP Lindsey Clark is also wonderful.

May 2nd 2018 was my first time here and from the time i walked into the door to walking out I was treated with utmost respect and everyone was very friendly. When it came to the financial part of paying they worked with me and that meant alot considering i have no insurance. Fortunately, i dont have to come back anytime soon but probably in the future i will as my condition will worsen over time. Dr. Ronkar is great!

Outstanding care from receptionist to physician. Highly recommended.

Dr. Burdt keeps up with his medical knowledge and recommends the best medication for his patient's individual needs...not just the medications he was last given samples from a sales rep or prescribed to someone else before you. He describes each of them and makes sure there are no questions about the benefits outweighing the risks. He makes sure it is the best medication for your situation.

One benefit I really care about is he writes down the instructions for his plan of action on the medication(s), whether it is a step / taper up or down. I can take it home with me and if I have had interruptions in my day they are written down as a reference to refer back to even weeks after.

He is genuine and cares about your wellbeing. He listens. I like to celebrate our success together as a team. His nurse even finds the time to call you to make sure your medication change is working for you and if you are feeling better. In addition, I love access to their portal because I can use it on "my time" and I get quick responses or see the test results the same day or two later. Just as I or anyone would expect.

That is a team.

Dr. Pittman is one of the best doctors I have ever had. Very professional and very thorough. He is also very friendly, a real people person. He knows more about me than I do. He alerted me to a heart problem he thought I might have, as it turned out he was right. I credit him with saving my life. The world needs more doctors like Dr. Cory Pittman.....

I appreciated the kind care taken by staff and Dr. Schmidt to prevent spread of infection by washing hands in front of me at my visit.

I've been going to this clinic for around 18 year. I've never been disappointed in their services, everyone there are highly educated and polite.

Every staff member I encountered was very friendly and pleasant. Dr Craig was thorough and easy to interact with. He explained things very well and I feel confident he has a plan I can follow to help correct my health issues. As a first time patient, I was in and out in 45 mins. Great in my opinion.

I was referred to this office by my primary care provider. It took them a month to schedule my appt. I have been in extreme pain therefore I missed my appointment as I was in extreme pain. The physician refused to reschedule my appointment. The office staff and physicians are condescending and are more concerned with making a profit rather.than being kind,understanding and invested in providing care to the sick or those in pain.VERY DISAPPOINTED PATIENT.

I ve never been in a more friendly, caring doctors office medical center. Every staff member I spoke to made me feel like they truly care about me.
From the moment Dr Burdt entered the exam room he put me at ease. I could tell that he had read my medical records & studied my x-rays that my orthopedic surgeon sent him. He discussed everything in great detail so that I could understand it. As he talked it felt as though he had genuine empathy for me & we came up with a plan of action. I look forward to working with him in the future.

I have been under the care of Dr. Braun since 2001 and have never had any complaints. He and his nurse have always listened to my requests, returned my calls, explained information carefully and thoroughly. They have been courteous, respectful, and very professional since day one. I have and will continue to recommend this practice based on the care I have received here.

Iowa Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center is an excellent office. They are taking the safety of all during doctors visits. Dr. Pittman and his staff are extremely kind and they genuinely care about their patients. I know I am getting the best care when I have my visits.

I ve been a patient for 22 years. The doctors and staff are knowledgeable, professional, caring, and even funny when appropriate. They remember your life, family, and history, and ask about all. It s a terrific place to be treated!

Admin staff & nurses are always very polite & helpful. They are very personable & easy to talk to. I've only seen one doctor here and he's amazing! Dr. Burdt is very knowledgeable & compassionate and has a wonderful personality.

Dr Swenson was excellent at explaining what he thought my treatment should be. He also took in t
o consideration that the distance I travel (100 miles), it was best for him to send his recommendations to my primary doctor. He gave me a shot in record time and very little discomfort. I would recommend him to anyone with joint problems.

This office has lost my appointment twice, charges $20 to fill out FMLA paperwork each year-and that whole process was a mess, has lost proof of my copay being paid, my provider doesn't seem knowledgeable with my condition to the point of me having to refer my care back to my pcp...because they won't let you switch between doctors in the office.

I've gone here for quite a few years now. (although not much the last year and a half or so, because they aren't prescribing meds for me anymore)
It was nice today to be able to do a telehealth visit, and not have to drive up to Johnston, to talk to my rheumatologist. (it's about a 40 minute drive from my place in Indianola)
The staff is always nice here. But just be aware, they do tend to run late a lot, at least my doctor anyway. For afternoon appointments, later in the afternoon, it's not uncommon for them to be running 15-30 minutes late. I'm not sure about morning appointment, as I always go in the afternoon. If you are planning something after your appointment, just be aware.

I have been a patient at the arthritis center 20+ years and feel that without the work these wonderful people do, I would not be here to post this comment.

I have seen several physicians and physicians assistants and feel that they all are a very special group. I have had many interactions with every entity of this group from stacey and her infusion program, the lab folks, X-Ray, bone density, and nurses. It takes a special kind of person to be able to see the devastation arthritis causes in peoples lives and be as cheerful and caring as these people. Great Group.

Dr. Rhettenmaier deserves a special shout out because without his expertise on my team I would be in horrific shape. He is non-judgmental, caring, kind, humorous, direct, and extremely knowledgeable. He is the best physician I have ever met no matter the specialty.

Today I was impressed with the triage set up at the entrance of the office . It took very little time and put me at ease .

I have yet to encounter someone who is less than kind, caring, and friendly at this practice. Dr. Craig has been fantastic. For those of us living with something like RA, it helps so much to know that the people treating you appreciate the ramifications of the illness and are empathetic, not dismissive. Both Dr. Craig and his nurse, Sonya, have been wonderful. Dr. Craig has freed me from what was really a two year nightmare and given me hope that I will be active again one day. And we so appreciate that he remembers little things about us between the appointments, like my husband's name and what is going on in our lives. I recommend the Iowa Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center without any reservations!

I have been taking my Mom to Iowa Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center for years and we have never had a bad experience. The people who work there are truly amazing!

I m 44 and was diagnosed with a rare form of arthritis recently. I had a lot of questions and concern because of the unknown and Dr. Schmitt took his time and answered all the question I had. He came up with a plan for treatment after my diagnosis and set me at ease. I m really thankful for his professionalism and concern, and really grateful my Primary Doctor referred me to Iowa Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center. GREAT PLACE.

Dr. Rettenmaier was quite possibly the rudest provider I have ever experienced. Incredibly condescending, made multiple comments about how "unnecessary" my referral to the center was and basically made it sound as though my appointment was a huge waste of his time. He talked over me the entire time and never gave the opportunity to ask questions. By the time I left, I was basically having tests ran, but I didn't even know what they were for. I'm sure the center is great - the other staff were very helpful - but I would avoid utilizing this provider if possible.

I felt very comfortable at Iowa Arthritis. The office staff and the nurses were very considerate and professional. Dr. Jacobi is just wonderful. This is the first time I had seen her. She listened to me and talked to me about my symptoms. I felt entirely comfortable with her. I would recommend her to anybody!!

From the front desk staff to Dr. Pittman and Rita we have been received in a welcome and respectful manner. Dr. Pittman and Rita take time to explain the treatment plan...we use the portal for communication between visits and the response is timely and if they need further input from us they call..

Dr. Rittenmier is an excellent physician; medicine is cutting edge and evaluations are thorough; clinic is clean and well maintained, communication is exceptional

Every thing from entry to the clinic and out are very excellent. The treatment provided by the doctor is excellent and my wife is healing very good.

We absolutely love Dr. Burdt and his staff. Everyone is welcoming, we never feel hurried and they genuinely listen to you. We learn something new and interesting about Dr. Burt at every visit. He's a gem!

Dr. Rettenmaier did not listen to my husband's concerns of treatment nor did he explain his diagnosis or treatment clearly. Constantly speaks in third person, which is annoying, concerning and confusing. The office also would not let him see a different doctor after request. They said he could not have an appointment with Dr. Rettenmaier for at least 3 years before they would ALLOW him to see a different doctor within the same office. I would NEVER recommend this office or Dr. Rettenmaier to anyone.

Dr. Cory Pittman takes excellent care of me. I couldn t ask for a better doctor. The staff are excellent and courteous and make you feel comfortable. I have been going there since 2014. I definitely recommend Iowa Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center!!!!

All very friendly and professional. Probably should given them a 5 but that would make them perfect. LOL. No such thing but they are very good.

Dr. Ronkar patiently answers every question and follows up to make sure everything goes as planned. The P.A.s, nurses, and other staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and kind.
