This is an excellent place to get top notch care. All of the staff are always helpful and knowledgeable, as well as super friendly. Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Dr. Corey Pittman is, by far, the most thorough doctor I ve ever had. If he was you primary care physician I could get rid of nearly all the others. He is bright, personable, extremely attentive, a great listener and is genuinely interested in my body and medical care overall!

Everyone at the clinic from the Covid screeners to the front desk the nurse Dr. Smith and then the lab technicians for blood draw an x-ray were extremely warm and welcoming

When my first Dr retired and he refer me o Dr Craig, This Dr has done so much for me. If one drug didn't work he find something that would. He has a great personality and is easy to talk. I feel so comfortable with him. Very caring doctor. His staff is also great. Even front office staff.

I left the office both times in tears because of Dr Schmidt. He has the worst bedside manners I have ever seen. And to work with patients that have pain is beyond me- where is your compassion?!? He was rude and condescending. I will never be back. I even asked to change providers and the office manager made me give him another chance. It s doctors like this that make patients like me give up hope.

First of all, there is ample parking. Signs direct you to your provider. HUGE waiting room. The staff is tremendous. I see Dr. Swenson and his staff in Rhuematology. I would give Dr. Swenson and his staff 5 stars.

I am so happy I found them. Great care all around. Easy to find, lots of parking, excellent care. I have found a home for my arthritis care. Couldn't be more pleased. No complaints and that is unusual coming from me!

Very caring & efficient staff, Dr., blood draw & infusion for Osteoporosis today. Follow up bone scan, blood draw& next year's appointment ALL MADE during infusion time of approx. 40 minutes! Mentioned I had tried to do splits in parking lot & staff immediately came out with me to apply ice melt in parking spot where I had parked! Top notch medical care & staff attention/efficiency! ALL COVID PRECAUTIONS NOTICED BY ALL INSIDE THE BUILDING! THANK YOU!!! Be SAFE, IOWA!!!

The fastest doctor visit I have ever had. No waiting between portions of the visit (blood work, weight, assistant, and doctor). Dr Pittman also spent all the time I needed with me.

Avoid these clowns! First they prescribe opiods for joint pain, then they immediately label you as an 'opiod addict'. Uh, I just want pain relief, why the games? My joints never got better after years of visiting these doctors, and never once did they refer me to an orthopedic surgeon to fix my bad joints that require surgery. Just an insurance scam-style company, now that they ditched Mercy's quality controls.

It is the only clinic that I go to that has treated me kindly from check in to check out! It is of the few Dr. offices that I go to that they appear to really care and enjoy their jobs. Everyone is always smiling and very helpful. The girls in the lab are great ! Never have they had to try a second time to get the job done. That does not happen anywhere else I go to have blood drawn! Dr. Burdt and his nurse Kim, go out of the way to take care of my healthcare needs and get to know me as a person. The new face lift/remodeling is very refreshing, clean and uplifting. I love the new online check in process too!

We are overwhelmed with how incredible Dr Harts is at this clinic! At only 28 years old it is terrifying to have to go into an arthritis clinic with severe pain, but Dr Harts has given me so much hope, and compassion well beyond any doctor I have ever experienced! She listens and truly is invested in her patients. I would recommend her to ANYONE!! She is a shining example of what a doctor should be!!

The Iowa Arthritis and Osteroporosis Center is clean and very well run by all the Doctors, Nurses, and staff. They're friendly and professional. I'd rate them a 5 on a scale of 1 to 5. Top Notch!!!

Dr.Rettenmaier is patient centered and truly cares about your wellbeing and life. His medical information is astounding. A plethora of knowledge. All of the nurses and receptionists have been very professional and friendly. 10 star professional establishment.

I called the clinic asking what to do about my situation and was given a time to visit the same day. I was given all the time I felt I needed and left the clinic knowing what I needed to do at home. Thank you for my excellent care

For the clinic size, the care feels quite personal. I also commend Dr. Steven Craig for his listening skills, knowledge, ability to apply that knowledge and willingness to personally and quickly contact the patient with any test results. Also, the infusion team is capable, careful and care-giving.

Always get excellent care here, Dr.Pittman is the greatest, knows my medical history, and has a great bedside manner. Everyone there is very professional, caring, helpful and i highly recommend them.

I appreciate how well my appts go. I'm in and out in less than half an hour. Staff are pleasant and Dr Swenson explains everything thoroughly.

Dr Gilg is always friendly and aware of my illness when examining me. He suggests trying different medicines and answers all my questions. Great bedside manner!

I've been coming here for over 3 years and have received great care!
I have been to many clinics in the past and this one is by far the friendliest. It starts from the Ladies checking me in. They are always pleasant and have a smile. It's convenient to do Lab and X-ray testing in office. You can also have a Bone Density/Dexa scan here to. I can communicate with my nurse and DR. VIA patient portal.

The entire staff, and doctors are so caring and professional. Dr. Swenson listens to everything I have to say and answers in terms I can understand. I appreciate they are open during this crisis with Covid. The follow up lab results are forwarded to my internist and come in My Portal the next day! Very helpful and thorough. I am new to Des Moines and a new patient of Dr. Schmidt. I feel comfortable in his understanding of how to treat my rheumatoid arthritis.

I have been coming to Iowa Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center for a little over two years. I could not be happier with the care I have been given by Dr Schmidt and staff. Dr Schmidt is engaging, respectful, incredibly bright and resourceful, seasoned with a sense of humor. Andrea Schaffer, PA, has also been very instrumentel in providing excellent care and advice. Each encounter I have had with nurses and staff have been highly favorable as well. I cannot say enough good about my care here.

Extremely friendly and supportive staff! The entire office is bright and airy with wide hallways. Makes getting around very easy! I ve never felt so comfortable going to a first time appointment as I did here.

My doctor was very professional and knowledgeable. She continued to search for what my illness is when the tests told a different story. I spent and entire hour with her. I felt she really cared.

Dr Steven Craig has been my rheumatologist since March 2017. He is very caring and determined to manage your disease so you feel better. He is the best.
Dr. Craig saved my life in January 2019 by immediately sending me to the ER at Methodist Medical Center, where they rushed me to the Mayo clinic for emergency surgery. He is my Hero!

Staff are the post friendly! The provider was excellent and very informative!

Took two weeks to respond to referral that they insisted I needed even though I was a patient three years prior. Once I had the referral they could not get me in for 5 months. If any of you have Rheumatoid Arthritis you know that is a long time to wait when you are in pain. Not to mention the lady was rude and very unhelpful. Even after explaining the pain and swelling that I was having with six kids to care for.

this is the only clinic that can draw blood in one attempt in my wobbly veins. Each tech has been able to do so.

Dr. Craig is everything I want in a doctor. He attentively listened to all my symptoms and concerns to get the full picture. Then, he asked clear specific questions - maybe I forgot something. He then clearly explained what our next step was, what he expected, and what I should expect. He also made it very clear, so I could be certain, that he received all the information from my PCP, and he would reciprocate.

Everyone is very caring and friendly. Dr. Burdt is wonderful! He s friendly, a great listener, is never in a hurry, and explains things very clearly. His nurses are the same way and respond to calls/requests the same day.

I've been going to this clinic about 9 years, always seeing Dr. Susan Jacobi. I have complex medical issues treated by numerous specialists in other fields. Without a doubt, Dr. Jacobi cares deeply about my overall health and speaks to me like we are partners in choosing what to do. She is very easy to talk to and explains things clearly. I have had no problems getting in early with new concerns, promptly getting responses to questions by phone, results on testing and referrals. Everyone at this clinic is professional and friendly. Also, the facilities are spacious, bright and attractive.

Dr Stephen Craig is very caring. He listens and thoroughly explains everything to you. He takes the time himself to call the patients about the lab results and that doesn't happen very often they days! Also the staff seemed very knowledgeable and got everything done is a timely matter.

I was seen by Andrea Schneider and was very very pleased with her. Andrea took the time to actually listen to me and make me feel that I knew what was going on with my RA. Andrea gave me options and let me decide what would be best for my treatment.

I moved my father to live with me and he needed new doctors up in this area. Dr. Craig was wonderful. Very thorough in examining dad and gave us solid hope that dad could feel better with change in meds. Dr. Craig personally called us within 2 hours after appt almost 5pm to give us xray and lab results. So pleased with this practice from making the appt, checking, nurse, and Dr. Craig. Thank you.

I have been going to this place for many years. They have done a wonderful job managing my rheumatoid arthritis. I have always been treated with respect and everyone I have encountered has been very caring and professional. Dr. Mark Burdt is an awesome doctor!

My wife also had Dr. Rettrnmier.. Very disappointed. Went to him for over 6mths and got the same conversation each time... Now u know there are 2 types of arthritis.... And into the 10 minutes of go swimming... She has 4 autoimmune diseases that need regulated.. Only tried treating RA with resistance to do that... Spoke with staff to request another Dr on staff and was told it's not recommended.. Ok. Didn't go back. Now today I will have to go and get records to transfer to another Dr. That office has already had plenty of issues getting other records of NEW patients. And the fight shall begin.. So I will repost that experience also.. Good luck to all that get in there... You must be proactive!! You are your own advocate!!

I am always treated in a courteous manner by every staff I have contact with during my visits, and with patience and information as I ask questions. I have recommended Dr. Craig to friends who have arthritis problems as he is very knowledgeable and always ready to answer any concerns or questions I might have.

I have been a patient at Iowa Arthritis for a few years now, and I am extremely happy with the care and treatment I have received. I am a patient of Dr. Jacobi, and she has been very helpful and caring. She explains everything to me so it is easy to understand. Dr. Jacobi is also very personable and knowledgeable. Today, I met with a Physician's Assistant (Kara Long), and I was also very impressed with her care and knowledge. Every staff member I have had contact with at Iowa Arthritis has been very kind and helpful. I am extremely grateful Iowa Arthritis is available for those of us suffering with arthritis and other types of pain. Thank you!

Recently went to the Iowa Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center with a friend who has osteoporosis. This appointment was more for a second opinion as she lives a very healthy and active lifestyle. The PA we met with almost immediately went into discussing treatment options, which we knew would be necessary at some point, but wanted to have some additional testing done before to see if there may be an underlying issue. She seemed to be very heavily pushing the drug Prolia also. She did eventually agree to doing more blood work, but we doubted she would have suggested this if we had not asked. She also gave my friend an article written from the New York Times discussing osteoporosis medications and side effects. I found this incredibly disheartening as a newspaper article is not the most credible of resources and for being a center that focuses on osteoporosis and arthritis I had hoped they would be able to provide more scholarly, noteworthy, and scientifically backed information to their patients. I know medication and treatment is necessary to certain extents, but was let down by how there seemed to be no other option they wanted to offer or to even question how someone young and healthy had the BMD scores that my friend had. I urge everyone to be willing to stand up for themselves and to not be bullied into a treatment option so quickly, ask questions and do your own research. Otherwise, the office was very nice and we were taken in prior to the actual appointment time.

Dr Gilg and his assistant are kind and caring people helping guide me through a painful arthritis juorney.

Dr Eric Swenson is an excellent physician. He is very pleasant, knowledgeable and actively listens to his patient s concerns. Would highly recommend him and the practice.
