When we initially met Ian Poor and team, we were certain we couldn't afford to live in the Summit/ Wasatch Country area. Having student loans, car payments, and working on a solid middle-class budget, we were extremely aware of the small budget we were working with and were fairly certain we would need to move to SLC if we wanted to also be homeowners; even then, we were confident we would be turned away (and maybe even laughed at) because we didn't have a down-payment. To us, the idea of owning a house was just a dream, but one we were certain wouldn't be attainable (at least, not for a really long time). But then we met Ian, who took the time to ask us pointed questions about our financial situation and was able to get us into an unbelievably incredible rate with $0 down for our (now) home in Summit County. Sounds like I'm making this up, right? Turns out, there are so many options available to prospective home-buyers, options we'd never heard of until talking to Ian... The icing on the cake is team at Intermountain Mortgage, who were extremely professional and efficient and followed up with us every step of the way. Andrea Cox is great to work with! This was my first time working with a mortgage company and loan officer and I really had no idea what I was doing. Andrea is super friendly and I felt comfortable asking her anything. Anytime I had a question she would email me back or call me right away. All paperwork was completed very quickly, I am very happy with the process so far.

We initially consulted with Ian Poor before we decided to build a new home. We found him to be very knowledgable and he had lots of ideas about how we should approach the process. We ended up building a new home over the course of 3 long years! Ian regularly checked in with us and answered questions along the way. When it was finally time to get our long term financing in place, Ian and Whitney were awesome. Our loan was very technical and required a great deal of paperwork as we are self employed. We were able to sign multiple things online and that made the process much easier than it could have been. We will definitely refer Ian to our family and friends!

I met my Intermountain broker, Ian, through my real estate agent. From the beginning he was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. The rates and terms he quoted me on the day we met were the exact rates and terms I ended up doing my mortgage at three months later. That was definitely NOT the case with the competing mortgage brokers I was working with.

Potter was a very helpful resource for my wife and I when we were obtaining a mortgage remotely from across the country. As first-time home owners, over 2,000 miles away, we asked Potter questions about anything and everything, and he always was patient and helped guide us through the process. The mortgage process can be confusing and overwhelming but Potter walked us through every step, taking time to ensure that we understood everything. Potter helped us get a mortgage after our loan fell through with a large bank. My wife and I were very frustrated with how we had been treated trying to get the loan through our bank, with lots of mistakes made and we were at risk of losing our $10,000 earnest money. I called up Potter based on positive review I found online (we were moving from out of state to Park City) , and he was very helpful right away. Told us exactly what we needed to do, kept us regularly updated, and came through for us - ready to close a week early with a great rate even after we had wasted 3 weeks dealing with the other lender! I would highly recommend Potter and the team at Intermountain Mortgage, and will definitely be using them for any future loans!

I was searching for a single-close construction loan with a rate that was fixed in advance throughout both the construction period and post-construction. Intermountain Mortgage delivered a rate that was lower than many other competitor's rates despite the fact that those competitors were unwilling to lock the post-construction rate. I thought the service was excellent as I was shopping for loans (multiple employees talked me through all of my options), and so far, the process during construction has been relatively smooth. I highly recommend them for anyone looking at one-time-close construction loans.

I cannot say enough about our experience with Ian. Seriously - without him and our amazing real estate agent, we would not have our home. Ian helped us get a USDA loan through on a property that had never passed before. He was willing to email or talk on the phone with us pretty much daily for about two months while we were shopping for and trying to close on our home. He even took a cut on his own profit to make sure that we got our loan through. Covid has made getting loans more difficult and complex. Ian helped us to navigate that and to get something through that seemed impossible. There were zero dropped balls on his end. In fact, he helped to get things through when other parties dropped the ball. I will recommend him to absolutely anyone that I meet. I would not trust my financing process to anyone else but him in the area. Absolutely recommend.
