Love this Hotel.. Clean. Not so big but enough for two..
Fantastic location to explore Edinburgh from with comfortable and cosy rooms.
Great stay. The bar staff especially Bart were amazing!
Visit with caution. Been here a couple of times and it best to get it straight exactly where you are staying as some rooms can be noisy ( next to exit stairs ETC) , terrible views and a little tired. Although the hotel was done up the general workmanship is terrible. Not had a good experience with the staff either. We waited for 30 minutes to check in on the last visit. While the story of the check in girls drunken night out was interesting for the first minute, the five minutes was tedious. It is a common venue for weddings and parties so so good to ask just in case your looking for a more relaxed experience
Very pleasant and welcoming staff. Lovely hotel with very nice rooms.
The hotel was very welcoming and a special touch with a complimentary bottle of bubbles delivered to my room. We have a great stay at this hotel with a lovely breakfast
Room was very nice with luxurious products. Meal in the restaurant was excellent too and despite dining alone I did not feel uncomfortable. I would recommend this hotel to others and the location is great too! Modern and comfortable I will stay again.
Lovely hotel, lovely, friendly staff and comfortable stay
Fantastic location. Rooms, breakfast and staff all brilliant!
Top class, great location, great service, great all round.... if I could afford it I'd book it everytime I was in Edinburgh.
Breakfast with few options and poorly trained and disruptive staff.
Queue to drink coffee.Never seen that !!
The bath and sink were clogged.
Generally unfriendly service for a five star hotel
Very good in comfort, cleanliness, friendliness, food and location.
Amazing location for beautiful events, not cheap though great for both private (pay parking on George street) and public transport
The staff has been lovely. The rooms are quaint. Large lobby and sitting area. The coffee shop (Burr & Co.) staff is exceptional and makes wonderful lattes. The concierge desk gents have all been extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the city and possible things to do or shop while in town.
Loved the ambience staff were attentive. Wonderfully clean What an experience and across the road from the Dome ....fabulous!
Had a work event here today, lovely hotel and great service, staff very accommodating and looked after our customer and event partners during all the breaks and organised a lovely lunch. Central location to city centre so easy to get to/from. Would look to come back in the future.
The hotel doesn't worth the price. The room has no air con and poor ventilation . The hotel give us the room which for the people with disability.
But the staff member are nice and helpful. The breadfast is quite good. The hotel give us free breadfast because of the first horrible night.
All in all not too bad.
Fantastic showers and service as well as wonderful beds. We only stayed overnight but it was well worth everything.
Very nice hotel, excellent staff, excellent breakfast
Menu options are limited and make it a bit like a posh Wetherspoons, options are mainly pub food. Very nice surroundings and service was ok. Better place to go for a drink than a proper meal.
Faultless. Perfect customer service. Since we were staying for my birthday we were upgraded to a superior room. Also received a bottle of wine in the room on arrival. Hope to stay here again.
Here for a wedding. Beautiful large party room. Had a marvelous time.
The room and staff were among the best. The location was beyond convenient to Royal Mile and various parks and attractions. My biggest complaint has to do with noise. Our room was right over the restaurant and the noice level until 1am each night was not ideal. There were no other rooms available and the staff handled my concern with care. Three stars because over 4 nights we were only able to get at most 4-5 hours sleep a night due to the music.
Central location to everything, especially the Floral Clock
An exceptional hotel. Greeted warmly everyday by the concierge staff, reception polite effective and efficient. The rooms with the architecture are vast and all areas are very clean and bright. Breakfast was as expected, with the Haggis an additional treat..the Hotel is in a top location for all amenities.
Very nice hotel. Polite staff. Stayed during the festival.
It's was nice wedding reception, still don't understand why they rebranded.
Lovely stay for our anniversary. Very quiet even though its right on George street. Will definitely come again
Fantastic. Very quick, polite and relaxed service from staff.
I regularly visit the city of Edinburgh for work. Time and time again I am looking forward to my stay at the InterContinental.
The breakfast buffet offers you quality food and has options for both local traditional dishes (such as haggis!!) to more common European bread and cold cuts. Noteworthy is the egg Benedict available from the menu on your table.
The hotel is staffed plentiful and all are eager to greet and help you.
Rooms are done in typical 'new English' style and are exceptionally well maintained. A generously stuffed snack box is available but the idea of crumbling on the floor will make you feel uncomfortable because of the cleanliness of the rooms.
Furthermore the hotel is conveniently located near the shopping streets, parks and... Edinburgh Castle.
I am sure you will enjoy the classy immersion in Scottish culture.
Great location, nice rooms of a little expensive, parking nearby is challenging!
Food was OK - not brilliant but priced accordingly. Staff were very good but policy of not taking debit card imprint (as with every hotel I stay in) - frustrating and irritating. Had to pay everytime I ordered a coffee or meal or drink - they wouldn't charge back to room. Amend policy for those happy to have the deposit taken!!
Simply a very nice stay. Staff food and room 1st class.
Great service, spacious rooms, good food and drink in bar
Very friendly and approachable staff. Keep up the good work.
Located in George St in the New Town this is an excellent hotel for visitors to the city. It is a long standing hotel which has expanded over the decades. The service is excellent and the rooms in the older part of the hotel are well appointed. Breakfast was good though having to queue for a table was a little disappointing. A fire alarm after breakfast was very professionally handled by the staff. Lastly a complimentary bottle of wine for our anniversary was a delightful touch and very welcome.
The location is within walking distance of lots of attractions, shops and restaurants. The room is well kept and, in fact, renovations are going on to improve other areas of the building. Breakfast had a lot of fresh selections. An enjoyable stay.
Great venue for meetings, large meeting room and very well catered for.
"The Gorgeous George" - Beautiful building, delightful decor and a very helpful and welcoming team. We will be back!
Amazing hotel. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious. We will defiantly be back.
Hogmanay celebration was phenomenal. Great food, great staff, beautiful decor, and good DJ. I would definitely recommend it!
A newly renovated hotel centrally located in the heart of Edinburgh offers a comfy bed with oversized pillows, complimentary WiFi and free water bottle + snacks.
Things to consider before making your decision:
The toilet floor was feet numbing cold. Room on the 3rd floor had poor sound insulation; heard music playing from the ground floor.
Mini fridge was oddly placed against the room radiator causing the fridge to work overtime making constant popping and gurgling noises.
Getting into the shower offered very little room to manoeuvre as the glass door if opened hits the sink.
Walking into the shower - your leg may just graze against the toilet bowl.
Water pressure was also very disappointing given the hotel installed a high spec overhead rain shower.
Main hotel room door had a door to floor gap of approx two inches. You could roll a pound coin into the room from the elevator.
Three stars for the friendly staff, comfy bed and central location.
Very good hotel ... excellent location ... and good everything.
Hotel in the downtown area of the city. Rooms very cozy, comfortable and clean. Somewhat complicated the layout of the hotel, corridors of it for what you can lose before finding the room, but as well and all advisable.
Went for a wedding recently, decor of hotel oozes class main hall perfect for wedding and interior dsnt require much decorating. Has its own uplighting and speaker system. Good size for wedding.
Very nice hotel great location. Lovely room. Nice meal in printing press.
Would highly recommend staying at this hotel if visiting Edinburgh. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, with good recommendations for places to visit around the town, very sociable and nice to have conversations with whilst in the hotel. Got to the hotel 3 hours earlier than our check in but took our bags off us and called us when the room was ready and took the bags to the room which was greatly appreciated so we could go out and explore the area
Room was excellent, bed was very comfortable and room furnished to a very high standard, making it an extremely pleasant place to be. En suite very easy on the eye, clean with a great shower.
Hotel is a great spot to be based as we managed to walk around many of the sights of the city and it was no more than a 15 minute walk before we were right within the main areas (such as the royal mile and Christmas market).
Extremely happy we picked this hotel and will definitely be coming back on our next visit the whole experience was superb.
Disappointed. Bar service shocking. 2 servers for 150 guests. 45 min. Waiting to be served. Not good.
Fab hotel, small but luxurious. Perfect place for a honeymoon getaway.
Its clean cozy and has at least 2 restaurants in it which is positive . In addition de that , the concierge helps you find the best plces to dine in ...
Beautiful, historical building friendly and approachable staff. Warming and welcoming atmosphere.fantastic rooms and views of Edinburgh.
Loved this hotel. Right in the heart of the city - breakfast was amazing & they serve alcohol to guests after the bar closes I'm reception.
Outstanding personal service. Went above and beyond the normal to make our visit a truly memorable experience.
Excellent location in Edinburgh, you've got everything you need here within 5-10 minutes walking.
The hotel is high quality and the rooms are modern, well kept and colored in light colors.
Wall in wall to a fantastic bar and an in-house resturant as well.
Cross the street for hard rock cafe, an ATM and a taxi stand, quite a good place to start out your stay in Edinburgh from.
Friendly staff always willing to accomodate, recommended stay.
Lovely hotel, excellent location, room was very nice, very comfortable bed. Lots of extras in the bedroom. Unfortunately their was a mix up with the room initially but it was resolved and we were given breakfast free of charge. It was a very special birthday treat for my friend and she enjoyed it very much. Thank you to the lovely staff.
Perfect days in edinburg. thx Francesca for the Service.
Stunning hotel.
Very classy and cosy, can't recommend enough.
Situed on a street full of places to go, perfect for city break.
Visited at end of November, so super sparkly and festive.
breakfasts knockout, could have that everyday!
Recently stayed here and was lovely from start to finish. The staff couldn't do enough for us including the restaurant....food was lovely and if we are ever in Edinburgh again this would be our first choice!! Thank you Principal.
Fantastic place, wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. Look forward to my next visit
Top location for a hotel in the Scottish capital. That alone would be enough to make me come back. As a European, of course, a full English / Scottish breakfast is not exactly a dream, but you can eat it.
Rooms are lovely, spacious and well equipped. The staff are also extremely nice and helpful, shame they don't have Neil's Yard products in the bathrooms anymore though.
Food was fantastic. Rooms were out of this world. Function room for a wedding ceilidh. Would have more functions here in future. Very grand indeed
Convenient location in New Town, walkable to all the main sights. Bed was comfortable and the room was spacious.
